Frosty (1965)

Wonderful kids-movie. Stupid critics.

I was quite surprised reading all those comments... I never thought people could be so incredibly ignorant...

This movie IS sweet & naive, but that's the point! The plot is full of Russian folklore elements which most of people here call "surrealism"... Every Russian kid knows about this "surreal" house on legs & Father Frost (which is analogical to santa, by the way). The plot is very simple & understandable, & the only circumstances that one can't understand the plot, is when one doesn't know Russian, or, on the other hand the most complicated plot he's ever seen is legally blonde...which is, of course a pity. I've watched this movie many times as a kid, & it's a sweet legend, recommended in case your kid is smart enough to understand a plot which is a bit more complex then porn movies.

I wonder how would those who criticized this film, comment on old Grimm's books, without seeing Disney's version, which is in most of the cases, far, very very far, from the original.

Also i would like to reply all those who complained about the lousy special effects- what did you expect? Matrix? The film was shot in '64! And for a '64 USSR kids movie it's great! So all of those who weren't smart enough for this movie should find out more about other cultures. The world is not just one big McDonald's. Thank god.

I gave it 9 out of 10. just for a better rating.

Surprisingly I liked it... The thing is that the Jewish community is shown only in 2 ways: the first one is that jews are represented as some sort of evil (a.k.a. the Nazis propaganda), or they are shown as sweet & loving people who are degraded by the rest of the world... how ever in this movie jews are actually shown like... people... who can be jealous, happy, sad, mean.. & some of them don't like their religion... that's the good part...

What I didn't like about the movie is the temp... by maybe it's just me, & if the movie would be "faster' it would lose its entire charm...

& I have to say that I just loved the ending.....

Hedgehog in the Fog (1975)

This is one of the most brilliant animated movies I've ever seen. It shows all the little things and the way you can possibly look at it. The Story is touching, and there's something magical at the images...And the whole "world" you see in the movie. This really might change the way you look at the world...

Moulin Rouge! (2001)

Surprisingly good.

Before I've seen it I thought I'd hate it. But it surprised me. In fact I LOVED it. I loved it background - Paris. I loved the characters, although they weren't that real, I loved the costumes, the colors the places...everything. I'm a rock music type. So imagine yourself how surprised I was, when i understood that the music had actually touched me...It actually did...

And the story, itself, touched me as well. It was so bitter-sweet, with a tragic end, that i couldn't hate it. It's a story when you are actually worried abut the characters, just because they have something everybody on earth wants - love. (Now show me someone who doesn't want to love & be loved.)

The idea of the movie is right...What else can I say? I know a lot of people hate this movie, i don't judge them cause i know why. it's only my comment after all.

The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love, and be loved for return!

Romeo + Juliet (1996)

Beautiful

Of all Leonardo DiCaprio movies this is the only one I liked. Baz Luhrmann did a great job,(as well as in the Moulin Rouge) by moving the whole story to our days. I saw Hamlet moved to these days too, by another director, but it was rather boring than great. This one, on the other hand was beautifully shot & performed. Specially by Claire Danes. She was real. She made e great expression to Juliet's emotions. The story is one of the most sweet, moving & tragic on earth. I loved it.

I don't really know why do i like it that much. I guess because I understand Holly. I think that whatever she decided to do with her life- was right. I also liked Fred (Paul?) for he believed in love (how common).

I gave it 9 of 10. For the predictable end. Though I always watch it every time it's on TV. Never get sick of it...

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

Cuuuuute movie

I really liked this movie. The plot is pretty predictable, but the humor is good, the cast is good too. I really liked Jack Sparrow, as a person. He's funny, little mad, but smart & he knows how to get himself out of hard situations, Johnny Depp gave a great performance. The movie is not a brilliant one, but it makes you feel good, and it cheers up... It's not boring at all, but it's not all about fighting and car (ok - ship) chasing. I gave it 9 of 10, cause after all it's a pirate-summer-romantic-predictable comedy. Which is very...well..."fresh" on the background of other summer hits. In one sentence - Great, not brilliant, but great! (:

Donnie Darko (2001)

So great...

I loved this movie from the first time I saw it, but it took me much more time to understand the whole point of the movie.

But even without a point - the movie it self is just... interesting, the plot is a bit blurry, but it's interesting, and a little twisted. The funny scenes of the movie really are funny, like with the smurfs, or when Jake tries to kiss Jena, for the first time ( you know, the scene with the fat guy:)) ). And the cast is great. I think all the actors did a great job. Even Jake seemed to be... well... too tired from time to time, he WAS supposed to have emotional problems in the movie, you know, so that makes sense.

The point of the movie is that people live not only for themselves, but for other people, who are part of them, and when they die or just get out of our lives- we no longer care for anything (morals/rules blah blah blah).

And there's another one- people live for the future, but if we'll suddenly find out, our future will end in a month, we'll have nothing to lose, and we'd do all the things we ever wanted.

The movie is a pale copy of "Clue less" how can anybody love it??? I mean the plot sucks, the acting is terrible, the characters are faked... And the funny parts are not at all funny. I mean, the movie really sucks. It boring like hell. It's tasteless, pointless, & has no charm. It's not even interesting. You know exactly how it will end, you don't even have to watch it!...

Joyride (1997)

A really amazing motel-movie! Loved it!

Before I saw the movie I thought it's one of those stupid modern comedies, but when I saw it I was really amazed. The story touched me. The story of Tanya. And Amy did a really good act. She's brilliant. The story it self is good too. It shows how much people want to live, though everything. Worth seeing.

Night Train to Venice (1993)

I liked this movie because it's really different. Unlike "Legally Blonde" or "Teen Wolf2" it's not a pale copy of old movies where you know exactly what's going to happen. I liked especially the background. The stranger-Malcolm-is a brilliant actor. He somehow reminds me Antony Hopkins in Hannibal. And there's that very old singer on the train, and she was so... grotesque-twisted-a bit scary, that it was... great. Though she had no talent. And the whole movie just make you feel... some sort of... strange. Which is pretty unusual... It's worth seeing, for people with brain & taste. :)))

The Company of Wolves (1984)

I really liked this one. It's a real high leveled movie. I liked the plot, it's really unusual, and I liked the story that the granny told Sarah she tells it to the wolves, it was really... dark-bit twisted-beautiful scene. And the story where the rich man turned to a wolf was really brilliant! I think anybody with taste would like it.

The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989)

A real art piece... Amazing!

When I first saw the movie I was really shocked. I mean it's sadistic, sick, spooky, and yet it's a real art piece.

The story really touched me, yes, it actually did, and I really liked the way they shot the movie. Specially the details, like, it looked like a play, cause the whole story took place only in 6 places: The parking, the kitchen, the restaurant, the rest room, the book store & the hospital.

And I liked the fact that all the colors turned to red black & white in the restaurant. The idea itself is amazing. And the acting was really good too. The plot might be pointless, but it still has something... I thought for a while what it was, and than I got it. The movie shows that even the people who didn't know what love is still want it, though everything... I hope you get the point... I just love this movie, call me sick, but i still like it.

Teen Wolf Too (1987)

Teen Wolf 2 is a pale copy of teen wolf. The first movie is great the second one just boring, not funny, and it sucks. The characters are faked and the plot is just the same as it is in Teen Wolf 1. I fell asleep when I first saw it, and I'm not going to see again ever.
