A movie for the audience of 1984
2 January 2021
Looks like the wonder woman team took a break and decided to make the movie set in 1984 and set for audience of 1980s. Cheesy action, way to overreach of a story, too flash no substance kinda thrill ride. Boring and too of full of itself. Patty jenkins is way too overrated and this proves it.

Great story below average execution
20 December 2019
Pardon my grammar as english is not my primary language.

I was never a big fan of new trilogy. I like it but it does not have the charm of original nor the story of the second trilogy. Characters felt undercooked and forced, as long tracking shots and world (merchandise) building took primary seat. But after watching episode 9, I can see what the vision was overall and it gets me way more pissed at JJ and Kennedy. I wish they had a proper plan from the beginning to execute and wrap up this saga. 7 and 8 were a missed opportunity to build something really awesome in 9 but they opted for mediocre writing and missed opportunities. Result, episode 9 is a mishmash of out of control story with flawed but still acceptable conclusion. Without going too much into the movie and spoilers, I would suggest all original star wars fans to go see this movie for closure. It's definitely a one time watch but then let's not talk about this trilogy in same reverence as episode 4 to 6 or even 1 to 3.

I'm over skywalker saga now and completely into the disney+ shows now with The Mandalorian being the savior for star wars fans and after Mandalorian's episode 7, I've really high Hopes for Obi Wan series too... Good riddance JJ and welcome Favareu, Filoni and Chow.

Stargate: Atlantis: Grace Under Pressure (2005)
Season 2, Episode 14
5/10
Borderline mediocrity .. mostly crap...
16 December 2019
McKay is just plain one dimensional boring character. Atlantis has been a huge disappointment when it comes to casting primary protagonists. Except shepherd (who is basically emulating McGyver. Lack of originality but works as nothing else working) most of the other cast is quite underwhelming and quite simply poor 1 dimensional actors. Manoa is painfully underused so is DRM Beckett who are the only two characters with good actors. One can easily see Atlantis was a short lived show. Lack of creativity in story and world building, bad actors, cheesy direction, wrong budget prioritization and awful writing... still gonna watch it coz I love stargate and lolling forward to Samantha Carter joining the cast to add some quality.

Stargate: Atlantis: Critical Mass (2005)
Season 2, Episode 13

More I watch Atlantis more I hate actress who portrays Teyla
16 December 2019
She is one of the worst actresses I've seen. She acts like somebody is holding a sign board with written instructions of what to do while base line being try keep the smile on while saying dialogues. I'm anyways quite disappointed with most of casting decisions on this show as compared to SG 1 but her character portrayal is the worst. Another issue I have is we are almost 40 episodes down and still nothing super interesting happens. World exploration is at the worst.. stargate franchise baseline is explorations and that's the mission of stargate command but this shows focuses more budget on cg and set pieces instead of writers to devlop good storylines.

To close, even pretending to sing a lament or eulogy was acted quite cheesily.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 6: The Prisoner (2019)
Season 1, Episode 6

Excellent episode in the saga of the Mandalorian
13 December 2019
Another day another job for Mando but this time we learn more about him and his past. Plus keep a keen eye for a fun cameo. The episode doesnt progress the bigger story arc much but it's an another character episode. We learn more about Mando's past, see his bond grown stronger with his 'pet' and see more badass mando in action. Overall another great entry in the saga of the Mandalorian. -1 star for not progressing bigger story arc despite 6 episode and 75% of the season 1 in the box.

Interstellar (2014)
9/10
Its not for everyone yet it will amaze everyone
7 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I love Nolan brother's commitment to their script and project they work on. The amount of thinking they put into their concepts amazes me every time and even its 24hrs since I saw the movie, I still can't let it go out of my head as the way they portrayed one of the most out-of- box grasping concept on screen with clarity yet with mystery is phenomenal.

His scripts always comes full circle and wraps up the story as it supposed to be, leaving the audience to interpret conclusions as they want and yet traveling in the same direction as he wants.

Interstellar is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The theoretical concept of wormholes, the little known proof of black holes and the unparalleled imagination of Nolan brother's brings us a 2hr49min adventure in which audience have to think a lot, stay with the characters, and root for them. Two actors who portrayed Murph steals the show with equal support from ever powerhouse acting by Matthew. I found Anne to be the weakling as she always over-portrays her character and makes her character extremely hard to root for. Matt Damon, Casey affleck and Nolan's Lucky charm Micheal Caine are at their A game.

I would highly recommend to read a little about relativity, wormholes and black-holes before going to the movie as it will give you better perspective.

*****Spoilers Ahead******

Nolan started with laying the groundwork for the interstellar expedition by portraying the present condition of Earth, meanwhile developing the connection of father-daughter with audience. He didn't explain much about basic principles behind the concepts and takes us directly into the interstellar voyage while dropping bits and pieces of info about concepts behind the attempt to save(or reproduce) human civilization. The voyage, the depiction of wormhole, the rotating black hole, the gravitation distortion of time, the relative consequences of it, the harsh and inhospitable climate of new planets, the extent of human selfishness, the extentlessness of bravery and the power of love, all melded beautifully into the next 2 hrs.

The ending can be a little hard to grasp with black-hole serving as the exit point for Matthew and suddenly the NASA came to full force with stations posted at Saturn and colonies blossoming. Although it does come full circle.

Personally I loved the movie as I love Nolan's work and giving a good brain brain exercise. Deducting 1 star for few scenes which could have been replaced with more scenes with a little more explanation of concept.

But its definitely a must watch and that too in IMAX.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Pilot (2013)
Season 1, Episode 1
10/10
Very nice transition from Avengers and IM3 to TV series.
24 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I had high expectations from this season coz of 3 main reasons. 1. Joss Whedon is the writer and director. 2. Huge fan of Marvel universe. 3. Will be able to see avengers storyline continuing every week.

First I would say nice casting choices for new agents. Agent ward was bit shaky but I guess its such a character only. Beautiful transition from Avengers and IM3 storyline to TV series. Agent coulson and Maria Hill are as authoritative as always though Agent Hill was looking more beautiful in Avengers I must say. The pilot should have been 2 hr long with a little more focus on character building. I found many loopholes like when the blast scene was rebuilt how come the doctor who survived isn't anywhere in the scene or even mentioned when in fact she was in the same room. Then also if SHIELD discovered that it was a lab, why they didn't questioned the survivor about what she was doing there....

Other than that I really liked the mystery surrounding Agent Coulson's escape from death and Agent Hill mentioning about something he should never know. My expectations from Avengers 2 have increases many folds already coz of this storyline continuation and even before Thor2,CA2, and GoG is even out. I dnt know how Joss is going to manage all the content into a 120-130 min long movie or is he gonna consult Peter Jackson about making 180-210 min awesome movie.

Anyway I liked the series and will continue watching every week. I'll rate it 8 taking 2 points from loopholes and little less character building.

Truly Reviving the series and Cannot be a better Pre-Prequel then this
9 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I just saw the movie and throughout the movie there wasn't a moment where i thought this should have been avoided or something's missing. The performances from Michael Fassbender as Magneto and James McAvoy as Prof. X were outstanding. The always inspiring, loving, motivating and a born leader character of Prof. X was portrayed beautifully by Jason and the ever witty, evil, brawny and hothead Magneto was simply superb. The relation between them was portrayed splendidly. Each and every character responded beautifully to the awe inspiring direction and beautifully written script. A true pre-prequel(pre pre coz i consider wolverine as a true prequel) to the trilogy. Even surprising cameo by Wolverine was soothing and added savor to the script. The sound effect, animation and cinematography was outstanding. The plot was laid firmly and the story evolves beautifully keeping in mind about the trilogy. The most surprising thing was the relationship of Prof. X and Mystique. The trilogy haven't had shed light on that but in this movie it was portrayed beautifully. Each and everything was perfect.

I would recommend this as a must for every fan of the series and believe you won't be disappointed.

My score is 9.2/10. (.8 for the action sequence which could have been made a little better)

Overall Disappointing
25 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a huge fan of Capt. Jack Sparrow and the Pirates Franchise. I saw the film today and must say I'm utterly disappointed with the storyline. First of all why the hell the Spanish people were there? Just to crush the Chalice in the end? its like nothing was suiting then lets introduce the Spanish. Then where's the enchanting crew of beloved sparrow. There's unwanted fighting sequences and unwanted cameos. It takes one fourth of the movie to finally put jacky on the stranger tides. Its like the script have been written by whole new writer whose doesn't know the very essence of pirates. Also there's no need of the mermaid love story although mermaid fighting scenes were very engrossing....

But none the less there were some upbeats too. Like ever gorgeous and enchanting Jack Sparrow(there must be Capt. in there somewhere). The performances from Rush, cruise and Mcshane were brilliant. The mermaids were beautiful and freaky too. I miss the black pearl but can sustain the fact that it wasn't required in the movie(the second part gonna be on this i guess). The freaky awesome crew of black pearl must return. Still a must watch for a die hard fan on this franchise but beginners must see the first 3 so as to digest the disappointment.

Eagerly waiting for the next one and please its an humble request from makers to develop a solid script like the previous three.

Fringe: The Day We Died (2011)
Season 3, Episode 22
10/10
The Best Finale Ever
6 May 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I'm following the season from its first ever episode and throughout the journey the fringe team surprises me a lot of times but the finale of season 3 is just awesome. The winding up of entire theory and story into a single finale is done exceptionally well by the writers and director. I cried when Olivia died in future i was shell shocked when observers said that peter never existed and i was in merriment when Walter discovers that the existence of both universe is possible. The writers have explained each and every question that have been raised throughout the season and yet many questions were raised at the end.

I'm thinking how to survive for nest few months without fringe and these many questions including about our beloved peter.

10/10. could have given more if there's scope....
