Nothing Original About This
21 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love Dan Stevens, but there's was no fleshing out of the characters. Some dude making snuff films? You don't see the killers face, no motive for why he's doing it, nothing. WTF? There really was no build up, nothing to keep me riveted. I don't care about any of the characters. We need some original ideas here, guys!!!

I expected something better
20 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I expected something more meaningful of an ending to a show where millions of fans invested 15 years to these characters. There really was no closure for the boys. I was hopeful that the boys would both go to Heaven together, and reunite with their lost loved ones, (Cas, Mary, John, Charlie, Jo, Ellen, etc.) This left me feeling hollow. And to throw in a cheesy vampire thing in the beginning. For what reason? And what happens to Sam's son and wife?(That should've been Eileen, by the way.) Do they go on with the family business? It just doesn't make any sense. The boys deserved better, and so did the fans.

WTF did I just watch?
30 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I love Keanu Reeves, but a dramatic actor he is not. He needs to stick to action flicks like John Wick. His character was so weak and pathetic, it was sickening to watch. What stupid ass can't escape from two girls. And the girls are so immature; with vandalizing everything in his house, for what plausible reason? Just to humiliate him? No man has ever said no to them. Oh please, don't flatter yourselves. Hard Candy had a much more meaningful premise, and great acting to boot. Now, that movie was an excellent mind f$%k. But this monstrosity? No way. The worst part was the ending. Wife and kids come home and see the house destroyed and all they can say is "Looks like Dad had a party." Then, fade to black. No consequences for anyone. Oy! Please skip this movie, and watch John Wick.

Not a bad story. I've seen worse.
12 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't think it was all that bad. It had a story that was easy to follow. Granted, I agree that they needed to flesh out the characters more; backstories and such. They should've had the 'ghost girls' have a slightly bigger role, but I can understand that they wanted to keep it with a mysterious tone. The twist at the end was decent, and definitely twisted. What I didn't understand is: how did Elliott survive all that he had been through, and Jackson didn't survive? Jackson's wounds didn't seem to be as lethal. Florence Pugh did a good job. Not a bad movie overall; although definitely room for improvement.

Dafuq? What did I just watch?
20 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this movie out of sheer curiosity after seeing all the great reviews and the hype given to it on Youtube as being one of the best movies of the decade. Um, no, I totally disagree with that. After all the hype this movie has gotten, I have to honestly say I was disappointed. I knew what the premise is, demonic std passed on from person to person. Nice boyfriend passing on this curse to a girl that trusted him. He chloroforms her, and then ties her to a wheelchair, and then tells her in not so many words, "I screwed you, and I really screwed you." You only just see that dude one other time, repeating what he told Jay in the beginning of the movie, and then poof, he's gone. Then, she's running around crying and screaming trying to pass it on to others. Did she really have to have sex with every male featured? She almost screws those men on that boat. There's no explanation on where It came from, or how to kill it. I didn't even know that she was seeing her dead father during the climax of the movie. There was no fleshing out the characters; no nothing but a slow burn, and an ambiguous and anticlimatic ending. To sum this all up, I have seen far better horror movies than this one.

What's the point of all the killing?
23 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't know what to make of this movie. What was the motive for killing Smith and her lover? For the money? Smith's character made nothing but bad decisions. Plus, her husband gets poisoned, and then put in the freezer. Then, when she goes to check on her husband's corpse in the freezer, and finds her lover instead, why doesn't she inquire what happened to her husband's body? She doesn't seem to care that her husband's body mysteriously disappeared. Then, when her "husband" kidnaps her and brings her back to her house, and she wakes up there and also sees the house was ransacked, it doesn't seem to phase her. I know near the end, she thinks Wendell is still alive and doing all this, but doesn't try to leave the house even after all that. I know there's twists and turns, but I find it somewhat confusing and senseless. I've seen better movies with twists than this. I've seen Smith in better movies than this. Last thing, why do they always have to kill innocent animals in these things?

Nothing more authentic than a real victim playing a victim.
14 November 2019
I thought it was remarkable that Theresa Saldana was brave enough to portray herself in her own biopic, and relive the horrible ordeal she went through. She didn't have to "act". She was very real, and the near fatal attack on her was real. One of the reviewers to say that it's ironic that she starred in a role that she ordinarily wouldn't of gotten, is a very insensitive thing to say. This "role" as you called it, was a first person account of something horrid that happened to her and was almost killed as a result. Unless we can walk in her shoes, and experience what she experienced, I feel no one has the right to critique Theresa on her "perfomance". All her emotions were real; whether or not it was a re-enactment or not is irrevelant. Miss Saldana wasn't doing a re-enactment of someone else's life; she was re-enacting HER life and what she went through. She was right when she said that only another victim like herself can really understand what she went through. I'm an actress, and if I was to play a re-enactment of an attack of this kind, would I play the victim with the right conviction? I've thankfully never been in that kind of situation; and I would put as much realism into the role as I could. Theresa did live that ordeal; and I give her a lot of kudos for showing the public what she went through. This is not your typical movie where it calls for criticism of the acting or the role of the director. This woman was telling her OWN personal story, and I feel that she deserves a lot of respect. Thank you, Miss Saldana, for sharing your story and not turning into a typical Hollywood story. May you RIP.

Did the DeMarco case have a connection?
14 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I have a low opinion of Tom Berenger's character in this movie. His spineless, simpering, poor excuse for a lawyer was quite a disappointment to me. I have always admired Tom as an actor; especially for playing strong, bad ass, take no crap, kind of characters that he was more notorious for playing. His roles in films like Shattered and The Substitute were standout roles for him. His portrayal of hotshot lawyer Gavin St. Cloud gone whimpering sap was unlike any character I've ever seen him play. The plot was transparent and obvious to anyone with a few functional brain cells that the stripper was pulling his chain. Gavin's brain turned to mush the second he met this woman. Why do a lot of men get this way over a woman? What did Gavin's Demarco case have to do with this girl and her shenanigans? Why did that poor girl that was with Demarco get killed, and by whom? The stripper killed her? For what conceivable reason? There was no explanation as to why Demarco's girl became a victim, and if that case had any connection to Dora and Del. The common sense and rationality of Berenger's character totally went out the window. Nancy Travis did well with the little bit she had to work with, but her character wasn't utilized as well as she should've been. There was no depth to the characters, and the only thing that the director seemed to focus on was the sex scenes between Gavin and Dora. I would've liked to have been more intrigued with a more thought out, intricate plot. Tom, you have definitely been in better films. Too unoriginal. Too much Body Heat and Basic Instinct, and not enough originality.

Left more questions than answers
7 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
When I first started watching it, I was really engaged. It dragged somewhat throughout the movie, but it still kept my interest. Very interesting characterizations, and good acting from Margot Kidder. However, overall, the movie's story line was very choppy; it jumped from one thing to another; and you're not sure who's coming or going? I found the ending disappointing. It left me with more questions than answers? Did the mother kill her husband? Did her crazy tarot reading friend and crazy rattlesnake collector husband really exist? Did the son kill his mother, and the girl that did once live next door? Was his father having an affair with that girl, and the mother killed them both? I was left feeling very confused with what was real and what wasn't. The only thing I knew to be real was the son's relationship with his overbearing mother. Otherwise, crazy movie!!
