An #ad film if I ever saw one. Great job PR people
2 September 2023
Everything in this is advertising. You have the cgi idealistic shots to the actual ground shots and dear lord compare the two.

This movie was paid for, sponsored for, marketed for, people trying to sell something. And they're behind! They're trying to sell you apple 20 years after iphone

However it's good as a teaching concept, introducing all of these things to new users who may not be as familiar.

In the end,

This movie was paid for, sponsored for, marketed for, people trying to sell something. And again?

This movie was paid for, sponsored for, marketed for, people trying to sell...

Feel good garbage
7 August 2023
A feel good movie that's mostly garbage.

A story of very low IQ and irresponsible individual who cares about no one but themselves. No preparation, no thought, taking recommendations of a random person to an extreme.

Completely up and leaves his wife at a whim and leaves her to deal with his responsibilities. No discussion, no thought given to her, just hey I've left you to do this see ya. We're supposed to believe that he's a good and selfless person.

And what the idiot is doing is celebrated. "It's beautiful", and his wife is the one who apologizes, no it's idiotic. Think about what his friend is going through this whole time, alone all day every day except for when nurses need to medicate her. And then his wife.

If you ever want to support a sick friend, go visit them in the hospital right away. All they want is your company. That's beautiful.

Don't spend a 4 week walk to get to them when they're in hospice and could die any day. That's stupid.

What a piece of garbage
12 July 2023
What an absolute piece of garbage this movie is.

It's not even fun which is the worst part.

The music is terrible. I don't think they're even hiring actors for movies anymore, just picking random people from malls. The cars aren't even nice looking, what is that blue streak with the porsche logo? God awful, tacky as hell

This is an Omicron movie, it has Michelle Yeoh voice acting! But all utterly and absolutely wasted.

I have no idea what they were thinking with this movie. The creators have actually gotten much worse over time, I actually enjoyed the prior Transformers films as stupid yet fun action CGI set pieces.

I hope this movie loses everyone involved a ton of money, it's what they deserve.

Just great. Last half of Season 2 was my favorite
3 July 2023
So many laugh out loud moments at the last half of Season 2 especially.

I watched both seasons in a row and Beavis and Butt-Head are back!

Surprisingly, they didn't make Beavis a woman for diversity's sake. Unsure how they got away with that.

These two are the same idiots they have always been, with the world around them changing slightly. They watch the tv/youtubes, they want to score, they do not understand a thing about anything or anyone.

They get slapped, a lot. They get injured, a lot.

Cody and his family were a great addition, hope to see more of them in the next season. Older Beavis & Butthead were also great.

Your mom jokes make a comeback! A your mom joke shared between two best friends is still as good as it ever was. Those who get upset do not understand a joke shared between two best friends, and thus it makes them angry.

Best moments for me were the alfalfa car, butt head sucks, the hamburger, take a bow, anything with racoons, Cody's family. I also enjoyed the not-hank hill war stories, they get better with each one.

A show that elevates Television
2 July 2023
I really really enjoyed this.

The writers wrote every character fully, every character has a story and people connected to their story. There were no characters I disliked so much I wanted to skip all the scenes with them. That happens way too often with way too many shows these days. Here, everyone was interesting and had a quality story to tell.

Big props to the actors as well for playing all their roles perfectly.

It's like Lost in that it has mysteries, but better. The mysteries aren't piled upon and forgotten about because the writers (Abrams & Lindelof in Lost) don't know what they're doing and are making things up as they go.

Instead, the writers in this have a plan and the mysteries are advanced with every episode.

Extremely well done.

Clone High (2023– )
6/10
Not nearly as good as the original
27 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The original Clone High 2002 seemed to be aimed more at college students. Abe (glorious Will Forte) was mostly the main character but Joan was the 2nd main with about a 60/40 split.

This new show seems mostly aimed at highschoolers. There's no more Ghandi and he's sorely missed. Joan is now the main character, and Abe/Will Forte has now become a side character with about a 90/10 split.

Barely any Cleopatra except when they need a lesbian story. Oh right, suddenly she's a lesbian now versus the man eater she was before.

Instead of the Abe, Ghandi, Cleopatra scenes we now have scenes with...Frida Kahlo and Harriet Tubman.

Frieda is an awful character and could have not been in the show at all and could have been better for it. Harriet Tubman is just okay.

So we have more or less an amazing mix of characters from the original re-made with a less funny, less interesting, less enjoyable mix of characters.

2nd worse movie I've seen this year. Humorless comedy
5 June 2023
2nd worst movie I've seen this year! Padre Pio was the worst, just for lack of the movie's topic and abysmal filler as an alternative. They seem to be dumping a lot of their garbage out right now

This reminded me of Movie 43. Just absolutely terrible jokes and a ton of celebrity cameos mixed in. Yeah, we get the industry jokes and yeah you have not done them in a humorous way.

The music too was cornball cheesy the entire time.

What they tried to do here just does not work as a movie. The main character couldn't speak but could have written, done some sign language, there were some obvious parts where he wanted to communicate. And I guess Hollywood doesn't care what you have to say, but they could have shown him trying at least.

That's a small nitpick though, overall it's fault is that it's just a humorless comedy.

I'm actually looking forward to watching Fast X now. Compared to this it's going to be a joy and I would bet dollars the humor is better.

Hard to get over Canadian production quality
5 June 2023
Canadian movie production quality is equal to Canadian TV production quality which is a bit worse than US Lifetime movie quality.

Most parts were interesting, the twists and turns were good. Actors and actresses all did a decent job, there were some good looking scenes.

I would agree that the pacing felt off, it was 1.5 hours and felt like they were stretching things with filler that wasn't engaging.

Not nearly as good as the Detroit: Become Human game's story which has AI breaking away from their programming due to mis-treatment by humans, and being able to share that with other AI by touch.

So overall just okay.

Padre Pio (II) (2022)
2/10
One of the worst movies I've seen
4 June 2023
The town parts, which is most of the movie, were just awful. Broken English, heavy accented English from everyone. Why not have them speaking Italian? It would have made it a lot better

But maybe only one star better. The town dialogue was boring and uninteresting and far from the way a regular person would speak. I did not care about any of the townspeople, they all could have died and I would have been happy to get back to the scenes of Pio which is the movie's topic.

I gave a star for Shia's performance as Padre Pio. Again the writing isn't there for it to be one of his best performances or anything, but it was the only enjoyable part of the movie.

I have a crazy idea why not put more Padre Pio scenes in a film about Padre Pio? Maybe they didn't think of that. Whole film could have been in the church instead and it would have been a solid 5/10.

An obvious twist
28 May 2023
Good cinematography. Acting was decent if not a little over acted.

What really stopped this movie from being good was the writing. This movie wasn't even close to great, in fact it was bad.

Do not believe the 9/10s and 10/10s, they are quite obviously friends and family and other interested parties.

To make it a good movie they just had to not make it so obvious from the start what was going on. When you have this psychologist with patients, saying nothing and looking like a deer caught in the headlights the entire time... Yeah.

Maybe I'm being unfair to the writers, and there were more lines but they were cut out in editing? Maybe the actor improved not saying them and the director went for it?

Huge mistake though.

Absolutely awful
4 May 2023
There are some things that are bad but passable with this show, other things where I have not seen anything else do worse.

Casting... Who was responsible for this casting? Every one of these actors felt like their only prior work was TV commercials and high school plays. I looked a few up and yeah, none of them have had a contributing role in any decent tv show or movie

Writing also plays a big part in why this was bad, although some of it is passable so overall it's not as big of a factor as the terrible casting.

It's like a soap opera in space, but not a good soap opera.... the worst of the soap operas. And set mostly in highschool.

Someone was really desperate for a show and decided on this.

This actually makes Another Life, which I also suffered through, look good. That at least had Katee Sackhoff doing some good work, this one has no one doing good work. God awful.

Creed III (2023)

Real bad plot. Would have been a 5 if not for Majors
2 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Dang did Creed and his family do Damien wrong. Imagine you save your friend's life, and you go to jail for it. Then you write your friend, and are completely ignored because his mom's basically trashing your letters because she has 0 understanding of your relationship and what happened. Oh and your friend doesn't care enough to call/write/visit themselves.

Then Damien's back, and Creed supports his fighter who loses and gets mad at Damien for winning. Then Creed starts a war that he's not prepared for.

Creed comes out of RETIREMENT, with huge injuries and risk, taking time away from his family, to fight this ex-friend who saved his life. Why? Because this ex-friend beat his fighter legitimately (with 2 minor non-legitimate blows earlier in the fight). Oh no your fighter lost poor baby.

For what reason does Creed to this? What's he going to do if he wins, just retire again.... Is his friend going to retire? No. So it's really all pointless and really pitiful.

Jonathan Majors was A+ and pushed this movie from a 5/10 to a 7/10. Bless those actors who elevate the terrible material writers/producers give them.

One of my new favorite animates series, next to Last Airbender
2 March 2023
This is fantastically written, highly amusing and well worth the watch!

If you've ever wanted to hear Scarecrow called a potato sack so and so, this is the show for you.

The voice cast is great for the cast of characters they have. Not just Harley and Ivy but everyone else too.

Clayface - actor extraordinaire. Dr. Psycho - women-hater, King Shark - IT genius who loves guns, Sy Borgman - War criminal, Bane (the worst!), Frank the plant who tells it like it is, Commissioner Gordon - sad/drunk/divorced, Joker, Batman... So many others sprinkled in as well.

The amount of jokes and just very very smart writing per episode will keep you entertained throughout.

Pretty good mid-life crisis story
26 January 2023
With a few problems....

They beat you over the head with the Jewish references when they have absolutely zero relevance to the story. Instead of being sponsored by Coca-Cola this movie seems sponsored by the Jewish religion almost every episode.

Jesse Eisenberg plays a self absorbed character who only cares about himself. Huh where have we seen that before.... I always wonder with these characters he plays how he even has friends in the first place, any friend would have ditched him long ago.

Lizzy Caplan is a much better character, with different problems.. She only cares about her friends, not her family.

And Adam Brody plays a character that is the best out of any of them. Grows, learns, unconditional friendship.

Claire Danes does fantastic in this, although I don't quite relate or understand the issues she was dealing with, the portrayal of what her character goes through mentally is something not to be missed.

Just okay
23 January 2023
Of course being a Netflix show, they continue to push unnecessary poorly written gay relationships and characters into every show. "What are my character traits?" "You're gay" "What's my character's backstory?" "You're gay" "What is my character's motivation?" "You're gay"

Just an okay show. No intelligent characters. They all speak different languages but keep having one-sided conversations where the other person can't understand, through the ENTIRE show. They also make quite a few nonsensical decisions.

The ONLY good music is in the credits! They spent a load of money I'm sure on that, what a freaking waste rather than having that music play over an important scene. I guess they couldn't find any impactful scenes to play that music over other than the last minute of every episode...

For opening scene the music sucked, really did not match the opening scene in the slightest.

Characters never answer each other's questions, quite often they just walk away which of course would cause even more problems. A couple times I can understand, but this happens the entire show.

Good ending, not many episodes to blow through if you're curious about this. Dark was a far better show.

A movie so good you'll forget Matt Damon is in it
28 December 2022
Went back for a re-watch of this and holy moly. I forgot Matt Damon was even in this movie., it's that good.

While Matt Damon plays an interesting and important role, the real stars of the movie are both time and space.

It has been said that while watching this movie high is a fantastic experience, I can confirm from a friend that it is.

There's a lot to unpack here between the absolutely stunning and unprecedented visuals.

I think this movie is on my re-watch list now right next to 2001 a space odyssey. Odyssey built the foundations for the future, Interstellar shows us what happens after. This gives me more to think about.... Is Earth just good for now, not really made for us, and we're made to explore? Are we parasites, insignificant specs, of the universe? That is what black hole look like?

Had me thinking about whether the universe is really full of black, or just full of black to just us.

2.5 hours of light family drama you've seen before
15 December 2022
Take away the Spielberg name and this isn't a film that wins any awards or gets pumped up ratings.

Very disappointed in this, much too long with little of interest and nothing new to show on topics that you have seen portrayed hundreds of times already.

A Jewish kid who likes movies and starts making them with his allowances on weekends for boy scouts. Rich and talented parents who are a little off but completely supportive of their many children.

Pretty standard marital difficulties. No real struggles, just a couple average everyday struggles.

Skip ahead a more than an hour and we're finally onto..... high school. Standard bullying except religious bullying because it's the 60s. Artsey highschool kid bad at sports does not fit in with the sports kids, uses his artsey talents to better his life.

Cut 45 minutes from the first hour and this all could have been done in less than an hour and a half, and would have been a better movie for it.

Does DC learn nothing from their past failures?
17 November 2022
Imagine if the Justice League movie was entirely centered around that random Russian family for some reason.

That's this movie.

The mother/son/uncle are all terrible actors and their dialogue is awful. Either the studio heads forced them in or the writers were unable to connect the story together without them... But it would have been so much better if they were written out, and would have cut at least 30 minutes of dead weight out of this movie.

While there are other issues in the film, it would have made everything far more bearable.

With them you have this super powerful character, who is admittedly not good, giving up... quite a lot... for an idiot child he just met. And many many many other scenes and actions that make no sense.

Why does Fate and everyone keep taking off their helmets/masks in battle? DC still has not learned that it's stupid for this to happen to show off the actor.

You also have another DC CGI villain who is just there to be a CGI villain. Already has pretty much complete control before events happen, goals majorly unclear.

Ugh. Stupid characters, porn acting, huge disappointment
16 November 2022
I thought this one wouldn't be too bad based on the ratings, but I was wrong.

Another Netflix show which tries to make a case that having sexual relations with a 16 year old is okay. It isn't the first and won't be the last.... Netflix writers/directors, something is wrong with you.

Also a bit about putting a camera in someone's bedroom and it's totally fine and not creepy as hell.

Twists are obvious thanks to some real bad acting.

No one acts like real people due to a combination of terrible writing and bad acting.

This one is okay to skip, it is not one of those shows that will be remembered.

Before I watched the final season I was ready to give this a 6/10..
24 October 2022
While seasons 1 and 2 were very good, I hated hated seasons 3 and 4. The characters all felt like they were sharing the same characteristics, it felt like they just did not know what to do with ruth, and claire's art story was not all that interesting.

But now I have finished the complete series, season 5 and all, and it has wrecked me. The way they have done this is a something that no one else has ever been done before.

Anyone like me who had previously given up on a series really needs to take another look and watch it all the way through, because it is worth it.

It's the best ending to a show I've ever seen.

A really wild telling of what various cells are doing in a body. Every cell has a purpose and a job to do, some are broken down and re-born or used in other processes.

Very cheesy, not worthwhile
2 June 2022
Jim Sarbh as Homi Bhabha was the only thing worth watching in this, he was fantastic.

The rest of it is cheeseball garbage. There is never any science or details mentioned or any scientific problems for them to solve.

Every problem is a person to person one and solved with a string of flowing words, rather than actual action and solutions. It really gets ridiculous and happens time and time again, someone will be dead-set against something for a long time and then one of the main characters comes along and says the equivalent of "come on" and then they say "ok fine"

For a show about scientists that I was interested in, I was extremely disappointed by the lack of science with manufactured drama interjected in place instead.

Mostly very good with a bit of terrible Kwan Ha
21 May 2022
Without Kwan Ha this could have easily been an 8/10 show.

Her people are killed by aliens, but never once does she asks why the aliens came or what they wanted or if they'll be back or think about them again. Instead she wants to take her revenge on... The people that saved her.

She keeps saying how she "got this far alone" when she's almost never alone and has a LOT of help from others.

And her story is frankly boring, every-time they cut back to her I wished we were anywhere else.

They should have killed her off and re-wrote to have more of Soren in there, it would not have made a difference to the story and made it a much better show.

All CGI, no substance
18 May 2022
One of the most boring movies in a fantastical world involving magic that I've ever seen.

They can do next to anything and the whole movie is about... an election. Riveting stuff.

The "twists" you can see a mile away so there is no surprise or real suspense. The VERY VERY SLOW moments between the characters are non impactful and will almost put you to sleep.

It is the worst of the Harry Potters.

Do not watch Season 2, the awful writing will have you disliking Star Trek
14 May 2022
Season 2 is god-awful thanks to the terrible writing of Akiva Goldsman.

It's more or less about an 80 year old man going through therapy to deal with things that happened when he was.. 12 years old. So that he can be "free" to live out his remaining years to do exactly what he was doing before.

There is a secondary story of him and his horribly written band of idiots trying to save the universe. But they constantly seem to forget that they're trying to save the universe, could easily mess it up, and get distracted by every passing squirrel.

But you see all of this is ok because it was meant to happen. All of these people and villains were meant to be stupid.

Raffi Musiker is definitely one of the worst Star Trek characters ever written.

Skip this if you like Star Trek at all, or risk having a lessened opinion of Star Trek as a whole.
