Monk: Mr. Monk Takes Manhattan (2004)
Worst Monk episode.
Clearly trying way way too hard in this episode. The drilling scene- interrupting Monk and the Captain was just brutal - not funny - and went on way too long. I love Monk- but this episode didn't feel like 'Monk.' Too many way outlandish moments- that felt more in line with Mr. Bean than Monk. (Mr. Monk joining the end times preacher in the street?! What?)
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
What happened to this franchise
This movie is bonkers insane. It's poorly written. It's characters are devoid of....character...holy cow. Our 'heroes' take a roll off a cliff, to where Colin T. has written this movie and has grabbed his precious few dinosaurs and a few cool mill, and jumped off a cliff himself.
It isn't funny, scary. It has one of the most annoying shrieking characters ever (Franklin). Christ Pratt couldn't even save this- can someone give these characters an arc? Do we have to recycle the same love story from Jurassic World? Do we have to have constant nods
to the original Jurassic Park/The Lost World? The first ten minutes are good- I'll give it that- but like the lava slowly oozing and burning everything - Colin T.'s script burns everything we've ever known about this franchise, including introducing a twist that is mind boggling stupid,
and is told to us by mustache-twirling bad guy. Terrible horrendous chapter in the Jurassic Park franchise- Universal do something.
Elf-Man (2011)
'You think I haven't dealt...with Elves before?'
First off- is this a serious movie? Nope. But it achieves what it sets out to do- which is a funny, ridiculous, and sometimes absurd holiday movie. The comedic timing is pretty good- Wee Man's acting isn't great (it works)- but the other cast members all have shining moments in the film that have the potential to make you laugh. It's more fun with a buddy- or kids. I watched with a pal- and we laughed throughout it. So if you're looking for something silly- watch this. PS- I love Jeffrey Combs- and he's zany fun in this. Totally commits to the role and it's awesome.

The Sender (1982)
A unique amazing film.
This movie messes with your head- in all the right ways. It'll make you guess if what you're seeing is real. This movie surprised me- for I had never even heard of it. A unique hospital/psychiatric ward type of horror movie-- with interesting characters-- and a mystery that keeps you on your toes. Recommended.
Hollow (2011)
WARNING: A true time waster
How does this film have a 6.4 on IMDB? The bots are at it again. This film is horrendous- and maddening. You just want to watch couple fight and flirt with each other- only to fight again? You've found your movie. You want to watch a movie that has weird animal (birds flying, ants crawling on hands) transitions? You've got it here! Unlikable characters. Barely any plot. Nothing scary. This movie is a dumpsterfire- and the world needs to know it.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Deserves to be Seen Twice
I think when we look back in ten years- this movie will get the respect it deserves. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a film that paves its own path. It makes choices that you won't be expecting. It's fresh- original- and is taking our characters to places they have never been before (thankfully).
This movie has some of the best moments ever seen before in the Star Wars Saga- and multiple times during my viewing (at least five times) I said, 'Oh WOW' out loud in amazement or surprise.
This film is jammed packed. There's a lot happening. It also feel like the first Star Wars movie that feels like we are in space. I loved it!
Now- this film is incredibly divisive--- I went in with an open mind wanting to see what Rian Johnson would do with this Saga- and I was delighted to see the lore open up more, the galaxy to actually feel BIG, and see what we aren't even close to being done with these characters, the jedi, or the darkside users.
Just because you made fan-theories, or are disappointed that things might have not gone the way you thought they would- destroy this movie. Good filmakers don't pander or stoop to what they think the audience wants. They get a vision- and they act upon it. That's how Star Wars started in the first place. Great film- go see it with an open mind- and enjoy what it has to offer. 9.3/10
Volumes of Blood (2015)
A very uneven movie- with a flat ending
I understand this film is an indie movie- and I want to make sure people know I have nothing against that. With that out of the way- this movie is simply not good. The acting is terrible, the production value is bad, and the stories have no pay-off whatsoever. The 'twist' at the end makes no sense- and left me shaking my head - wondering what in the world I had just watched. Anthologies are hard to review because each story is basically a mini-film and each have their own merit- yet with this one- I can't find any. 2/10
