Follow Me (2018)
If Netflix keeps streaming low quality abaurd content like this I will be done with it.
Too many inane content on Netflix.
Including the german biker doc.
The chinese surrogate story.
And this one.
They need to appoint a quality control person. Pronto!
Circus of Books (2019)
The son seemed traumatized.
The mother was in desperate need of therapy, not because of the son thing, but in general she is a control freak.
Living with someone like that it's not easy.
Franca: Chaos and Creation (2016)
A vanity project that should have never made it to Netflix offering.
I feel sorry for the son to have to deal with an arrogant nutcase..
The suitable place for this homage should be YouTube or Instagram. Not NEFLIX.
It's very annoying for the audience to display many covers without enough time to see one for at least one second. Ridiculous editing.
After watching the 'doc' I didn't find any value (other than he obviously suffers from mommy issues).
If you are interested in Carla editorial work (I'm not) just get a book about her. There is also another one about Grace Coddington and likely Carine. Better use of your time.
What she did for Vogue is not unique to her. Many editors-in-chief desperately seek to shock their imaginary -yet delusional- target audience, as a way to supposedly sell more issues.
What is interesting about Carla is that her inner self is the total opposite of her delicate looks. She turned out to be ruthless, superficial and materialistic, not an angel at all.
Overall a disappointing experience, not just with the documentary itself but with her. After watching it, I am not interested in anything touched by her.
Rotten: Bitter Chocolate (2019)
Intriguing characters...
Joseph-Olivier Biley, not sure where he is from. He seems to be part of the elite and serving the traders not much the farmers.
The old lady, Pam, not sure what her role is but seemed very confident and seemed to have an edgy identity.
Another lady, Ethelle, with the seductive voice sounded interesting and owned a very impressive living room decorated with objects from her many travels in Africa.
Broadly speaking, with few exceptions, the best quality cocoa with the best flavour and aroma comes from Latin America.
Documentary was not global in scope and lacked depth.
More questions should have been asked to Orla Ryan, the author, of an investigative book on cocoa business.
More images about the actual working conditions should have been added.
Superficial, no in-depth interview with several huge trading companies, they just mention them. No interview with ministers in those two countries.
Frontline: Amazon Empire: The Rise and Reign of Jeff Bezos (2020)
Too long and not much juice.
I was expecting more, what I found most irritating was the preformated, highly rehearsed nd boring responses by the company current senior staff. I was surprised no questions were asked regarding those entry-level employees that are paid to respond online, positively, about the company every time there is an online debate due to some Amazon related news.
Incisive questions were lacking, too many omissions and lack of depth about delicate subjects such as tax evasion, corporate structure, etc.
The journalist should insist way more to get something other than inane and unacceptable responses.
Pedal the World (2015)
Inane documentary. How can Netflix put this on the plataform?
I am new to Netflix and clearly they need to appoint a quality control person to do the selection.
This was beyond awful.
To Upload on YouTube and Instagram for his mom, maybe?
