Not worth it

After seeing 7+ rating, decided to give a chance. Movie started very bad. We have two characters and they meet at a bar. Bad acting, lazy writing, low quality movie which doesn't have anything to say.

It was completely waste of time. Cheesy dialogues, worse than tv movies. I couldn't take it anymore and stopped watching it after one hour. I have nothing against this kind of romantic comedies but this was completely disaster. Find something else.

Searching Eva (2019)

I just finished watching this documentary. I am confused actually. Indeed Eva is an interesting character but aside from that the movie itself is in identity crisis. Director is feeding us some random messages written for Eva, then we are watching Instagram story like dull images with music. At some point we listen parts of her early life in Italy. Somehow the girl apperently gave some hope to strangers on the internet while herself going down on a spiral of depression, alcohol, drugs. I liked the fearless film making style of the director but at the same time movie is a mess and felt pointless. Maybe someone else would tell her story much better I don't know. I can't say it's a bad one but at the same time not good either.

Brooklyn (2015)

Another overrated movie

I just watched the movie. To be honest I didn't like the story. Lead character is very inconsistent, you don't go out dancing with your friends when you just lost your sister and while your mother is mourning for example. Also immigration process and starting a new life in a new country has very dramatic effects in your life which you won't see any of these in this one. Fully cloth on sex scene was completely ridiculous. If the director too scared to shot a regular love making scene, it can be skipped rather than having your characters having sex fully clothed for the first time. They used "the year's best love story" quote from rolling stone but believe me even twilight is better love story than this one. It was boring and unnecessary but not a bad movie at the same time.

When you read the story it's actually promising. I watched the last man on Earth and liked it. Anyway I decided to give a chance to this one but couldn't be able to finish it. So boring. You will lose nothing if you skip it.

Most of the time I check out reviews from real people before deciding to watch. But sometimes you just can't find what you are looking for. A lot of fake blood and once or twice topless scene is waiting for you. The main character wants her love to commit suicide if she really loves him. He tells her twice and once to his best friend. At the end the girl kills herself and then the man kills himself too. Story telling and execution is poor. Dialogues are boring. Don't waste your time.

AI and CS generally a hot topic nowadays. Everyone is trying to learn a little bit more about topics like machine learning, ai etc. A Sci-fi involving programmers was a promising idea but unfortunately they couldn't be able to execute it properly. I mean why Hollywood always fails on this topic? Is it so hard to hire an industry professional as a consultant? The hacker played Jin Ha uses an Alienware m15 or m17 to crack a Samsung Galaxy looking Android phone. Yes probably Dell paid to promote their gaming line but at least give the guy an XPS 15 or something. No developer uses m15 or m17 line with their chronic cooling issues and unreliable built. Totally ridiculous images on cracking scenes and nobody can crack an app written by an foreign intelligence agency in seconds. That kind of tasks take time. No Russian spy speaks with their boss with a broken English. Too cheesy, full of chlishes and very far away from real life.

Double Life (2016)

This movie is wrong at so many levels, I don't know where to start. Since the story is so obvious there's nothing to spoil. Technically a disaster. Poor story telling. Sound is out of sync so many times.

I liked Mugi Kadowaki at Her Sketchbook (2017) and decided to watch this one too but even she is bad in this movie somehow. Her crying scene is far away from being realistic and sounds are not fallowing scene. And there's another scene where the couple eats noodles. That scene should use at film school to show students how not to shoot a eating scene. Their eating sounds are ridiculous and literally out of sync.

The whole idea and storyline seems promising but they couldn't be able to execute it successfully. I wasted two hours of my life so you don't have to. Not recommended unless if you wanna specifically examine this failure.

Missed opportunity

Just finished the movie. Once again I realized you have to do everything perfect and also you need a little bit of chance for a good movie. I can't say it's a bad one but when you see it you will realize that this project has really a good potential on paper.

Scenario is good, I liked the main theme song but rest of the music is mediocre. Cinematography and editing wasn't good. Main characters were awesome, they could have been used a little bit coaching and some intense scenes can be done better. Dialogues between characters were too shallow. Someone else can made a better job out of this story. Unfortunately this team couldn't be able to execute it professionally. So many minor mistakes. They chose to skip a lot of important points. This movie should have been shot fearless. Teenagers should have cursed for example. Anyway I like the movie overall.

On Body and Soul (2017)

A good movie is a rare thing and this is one of them.

Just finished watching this movie and I had an urge to share my thoughts. I won't spoil anything to help those who haven't seen it yet.

The only reason why I decided to pick this one is because it was one of the Oscar nominees. But you know how Oscars work nowadays so my expectations were really low. When movie starts, it slowly but surely takes you inside.

Finding a good movie to watch is really hard nowadays. They did a lot of good movie in nineties and then overall quality started to go north. That's how I started interested in foreign movies actually. There are a ton of variable what makes a movie perfect. And believe me it's hard to find one which ticks all the boxes. I never heard of the director or seen any of the lead roles before. But I will be following this director and Hungarian Cinema from now on.

First of all I personally would like to thank everyone who made this movie happen. It really gives you hope. If you are broken, felling lonely or depressed you should definitely check out this one. A simple, clean story away from all the unnecessary glamor, you will like that. If I had one of those Oscars in my hand I never thought twice to hand it to director. It certainly came out from nowhere and sit on top of my favorite movies list. I couldn't be able to find good movies like this for a long time. Double thumbs up.

Young-ju (2018)

Promising story but movie goes nowhere

I watched this movie yesterday and since there's no reviews, I wanted to say something about it.

When you read the plot, you are waiting for something good because story is very promising. It looks like this is the first movie of Cha Sung-Duk. I believe she can accomplish more in the future. Kim Hyang-Gi who plays Young ju is very experienced and she is very good at in this movie too.

Worse thing about this movie is lack of a good ending. It might be a masterpiece at the hands of someone else. If you like Korean dramas, go for it but keep your expectations low.

I wish luck to this young director.

As a 30 year old, when I look behind, I saw a lot of movies but only few of them can touched my heard. Its very hard to express yourself in another language, a language that you learn after your native. So basically, sometimes its easy to criticize most of the movies. We find a topic or someone have already done. Than we use it. But without saying anything about this kind of rare movies, we have to think twice. This movie makes you think about yourself, your past, your mistakes. Ank of course its not too late cos we are still all alive, so maybe we can change something inside us. This movie try to tell something close to that.

The ending is very important for every movie. And usually we can not find what we expect. Or we saw exactly what we expect and this makes us unhappy. This like some kind of paradox. So the movie have to give us something we don't expect but in the mean time it should not be exactly what we expect. And in this case, when you look at the Aimee's (Shailene Woodley) eyes at the end, they give everything I mentioned. The movie closes perfectly. Its something like real life. This movie is not about dreams. This movie is about real life. Recommended.

I've seen a lot of movies. And even much more than an average person I suppose. I love movies cos some of them take us to unbelievably cool places where we can never imagine. But the paradox starts here. Cos when you start to carefully select what you watch, you also finish quickly the list. This list is static somehow in everywhere. Cos its really hard to find some new, unwatched good ones. And yes. If you still haven't seen it yet, you certainly must. It's a warm movie. I loved Maggie Gyllenhaal's tattoos by the way. She is really cute. The story makes you think about your own life. And Will Ferrell as Harold Crick is amazing.

There is a movie channel at the cable in here, Turkey. They usually air boring movies. Today I was blue and had nothing to do. Opened this channel and realized this movie is starting in 5 minutes. I thought "ehh another silly old TV movie" but when saw Merly Streep and Di Caprio's name, thought that, how come I heart nothing about this movie. Started very good and I started to feel better. This is a warm movie and you can watch with your family. It's really hard to find this kind of sincere American movies nowadays. I loved and thought it ended very early, wish they made it a little longer but cool anyways. Director and everything is very good. Recommended.

My reason to watch this movie was Amanda Crew.

I've just seen it even the closing song is playing now.

I've seen all of butterfly effect movies and they were awesome. While I was watching it, some scenes remind me them cos the subject is pretty close. Its all about face to your own past.

I didn't expect a cool movie and it wasn't either but it make you feel better, even it let you query yourself if you feel it.

Everything was okay but I just should say that, ending scene was worse part of the movie.

If you already watch and liked butterfly effect movie like me you probably like this one too but try to ignore ending.

There are some different kind of movies who touches your heart, this is one of them.

While I was watching it I see some pieces of myself out there. Im interesting in psychology too, so if u like psychology this is a "must see movie" for you.

On the other hand Kevin Spacey is great as always he do. Cast is perfect. You can easily watch it without bored till the end even if you have no info about psychology stuff cos its nearly real life.

You gonna see how a beautiful young girl turns on a star and the other things. There is no nudity so you can watch it with all your family and this movie comes with cool ideas for young people especially having trouble with school.

If you are in depressive condition or just not feel happy for a long time, maybe this movie gonna be a good choice for you.

The Long Weekend (2005)

Just another cheap comedy but Cobie Smulders

I'm a fan of HIMYM and while looking Cobie Smulders's page I realized this movie so decided to watch it.

We all used to see this kind of funny movies, I mean a loser character at the beginning, than something ex-ordinary things happen and happy ending.

I know and u already know that this kind of stuff not happen in real life, I mean if even there is a cool neighbor girl exist in your apartment, she will never fart in front of u in the elevator so skip that. But funny movie and OK for having funny time with your friends or by yourself.

Wish that Cobie Smulders did more movies before HIMYM but thats OK, I love her and keep continue watching movies only because of she is in it.

I don't watch a cool movie for a long time, don't know why but there are a lot of funny movies shoot for money but aftermath they gives you nothing.

This is not a this type of movie.

Director and players are not far famed at least I didn't know one of their name before seen this movie.

You should watch this movie with your girl-boy friend if they exist, cos after ending it will change your mood, trust me.

I don't wanna talk about story of this film, just see it if you still didn't.

Twentynine Palms (2003)

You love it or hate it.

I seen this movie yesterday. In fact translated English subtitle to Turkish and it finished yesterday :) Anyway it was very fearless movie witch broke the rules of cinema, i know have been broken before by other directors but nowadays i haven't seen a new shoot movie which has this kind of sex scenes after Ken Park (2002).

The other interesting point was an unconditional fidelity and love of the girl (Yekaterina Golubeva as Katia) to the man.

Katia's acting was awesome. Especially there is a scene which is very funny, she says "i love you" while man talking a lot about how he cant understand her.

This is a kind of movie which u like or hate.

Also this is a movie that u cant watch with your family. Cos it contains really hard sex scenes, sometimes like a porn.

The directors note at the end of movie's trailer was interesting and so true.

I've seen this movie a couple days ago. Story was so complicated so realizing what the movie try to say was really hard. Another hard thing is enduring watch to the end. Normally I prefer watching movies till the end cos maybe film can be better soon but this time u gonna see when u watch either this not gonna happen, i mean movie will begin bad and gonna end like this. Totally waste of time. Don't even try to watch it. Camera angles were terrible and it was shoot like a holiday shoot. Even if its a amateur film the director should obey some rules. He could use a better technology for example. Anyway look where ever u want it was awful.
