Starship Troopers: Invasion (2012)
Am I the only REAL Troopers fan here?
Excuse me if my "dork" is showing, but I don't think anyone here has read the book, much less followed the seasons of "Roughnecks: The Starship Trooper chronicles" ~ How about the comics? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Robert Heinlein is a genius. I love his work. The original movie had a few common threads with the book, but was largely different. Movies 2 and 3 were all cheese factor level 10, but I loved them anyway. This movie "Invasion" was closer to the book than all the movies, the series and comics combined. It was AWESOME. PLUS, it takes place AFTER the Roughnecks series ended with The Homefront Campaign. If you want to see one of the best animated series ever created, get your hands on Roughnecks.
As far as this particular movie is concerned, I give it the 10 out of 10 it deserves. I loved everything about it from the gratuitous nudity to the gore. I highly highly (underline highly) recommend watching Roughnecks/reading the book (in no particular order because they're different) and THEN watching Invasion. You'll see it in a whole different light.
Don't Go in the Woods (2010)
83 minutes of my life I'll never get back
This movie was AWFUL. The acting was terrible and there was absolutely no direction. The true horror of this movie was the music! Holy bad coffee house drivel, Batman! To the cast of this craptastic movie, DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB. You all suck. This is one movie where I prayed for the brutal, bloody splatter deaths for all involved. However, there was 1 good thing about it..... the effective use of a mallet. When their heads were smashed, they could no longer sing. HULK SMASH!
If you're thinking of watching this film, please heed my warning and don't waste your time. I have never written a bad review about ANYTHING, nor am I normally this b*tchy, but this had me gagging more than the viral video of that girl eating her own used tampon!
Trust (2010)
Amazing, MUST SEE film
I was scrolling thorough Netflix and stumbled upon this film quite by accident. If you are hesitating at all about whether or not you should take the time to see this film, don't. This is a must see movie for parents and children above the age of 12. The subject matter is very serious and frighteningly relevant for families today. It's not preachy or trying too hard to convey a message. The acting all the way around was so amazing that it's easy to forget that you're watching a movie. Every single actor/actress in this film put forth Oscar winning performances, and I will never doubt David Schwimmer again. When I read that "Trust" was pulled from nationwide distribution, I couldn't believe it! What the hell is the matter with this industry! We (the public) are constantly inundated with garbage, smut and vacuous drivel, yet this film is pulled from the market? I don't understand! As an adult, please watch this film. Then take the time to watch it with your family.
