The Orville (2017)
Season 3 Ruined this Series
Unbelievably awful and amateurish writing in this Season 3 so far with just the first two episodes. The writers for S03E01 apparently have never heard of the Michelle Carter case and conviction. Season 3 is devoid of the humor, wit, lightheartedness and originality of the two previous seasons. The stories, scripts and forced drama of the first two episodes of Season 3 are nothing new or creative.
Dream Raider (2020)
Disappointed for a Taiwanese(?) Production...
Could've and should've been better... HBO-Asia which green-lighted this production could've invested in much more noteworthy projects than this! Maybe they got what they paid for?! Poor script with the typical Asian melodramas and subplot lines, cringey acting, and awfully cheap sets and CGI.
Alone (2020)
Dumb Story, Nonsensical Actions, Annoying...
No logic, common sense, or survival instincts whatsoever to the story--nothing but irrational sequences and actions taken. Not grabbing any weapon at first chance after escaping from basement?! Leaving shovel behind where the killer buried the body?! Oh, come on?! Nothing believable, original or suspenseful. Annoying throughout the entire film--just skip to the last 5-minutes of the film for the revenge or final showdown scene. Overall, not recommended.

Could Have Been Great...
The marketing point for this series is that this work is "based on the writings of Bruce Lee." Well it certainly does indeed; the storylines and ideologies are from that of the 1970's, which are so out of touch with the 21st century audience. If one enjoys his type of corny and nonsensical scenarios from his films in the 70's, then this series is along the lines of those films. If one is looking at this series for the martial arts elements, then you'll be disappointed too. There's nothing special or memorable here with just a slight homage to his classic steps and moves--again more stuff from the 70's. Watch 'Into the Badlands' instead... their producers learned after the first season, much more artistic, dynamic and grandiose in the second season.
In this day and age when the n-word is sensitively removed from the lexicons in entertainment, media and society, then why is it still OK to repeatedly use the c-word which is equally vile, hurtful and offensive? Just teaching and perpetuating another generation of viewers that it is OK to continue to be hateful and insulting. This also just shows the lacking of creativeness and skillfulness in the writers' and directors' storytelling abilities--shame on them for being tone-deaf and taking the easy route. This is not a matter of being PC, but rather the fact that the show-runners are ignorant and irresponsible in producing such crap. Wake up folks; it is 2019 and no longer acceptable.
Mei Gong he xing dong (2016)
Could've been great... but came across as an insult.
This film is intended to be a nationalistic exhibition and exultation of the mighty prowess, fortitude and ingenuity of their Special Forces. Instead the film portrays a bunch of inept and amateurish 'military' personnel--with Greek mythological figures as nicknames no less--lacking real leadership, conviction, training, and strategic experience in undercover and covert operations. This film would probably appeal to the uninformed simpletons. Anyone with any type of military understanding would find this film laughable and appalling. The filmmaker really did a disservice and insulted every member of the PRC military--along with the 13 Chinese victims, the real life casualties. They must be cringing if they could see this shameful account unfolding like a Mickey Mouse escapade. Instead of what potentially could have been a great showing of national pride, this film is just an embarrassing foray into the shoot-and-blow-them-up genre. If you're into that type of films, then this one is for you.
Lost in the Pacific (2016)
What a 'Plane' Wreck?!
This hour and a half 'plane' wreck can be summarized by: terrible script, poor story, not one endearing character, atrocious acting across the board, mediocre CGI, and silly premise and irrelevant sub-plots. Another embarrassing flop coming out of China's film industry... Anyone with a bit of cash is a producer and film maker nowadays. There's apparently an over abundance of cash and arrogance to finance mindless crap like this... The mentality seems to be: How hard could it be?! Heck, we've taken some film making classes--maybe even got a few friends and/or relatives with some ancillary degrees in "entertainment." Thus, let's just hire a bunch of pretty faces and third rate actors. No need to worry about the writing, special effects, continuity and pacing, artistic values, plot and character development, English speech coaches, and least of all, the audience's intelligence and sensibility!

Good Premise, but Awful Writing
What a piece of crap?! The writing, script and dialogs are way over-the-top melodramatic. I'm highly disappointed with JC; every film that he has done recently, he has become the mouthpiece for the propaganda machine and bowing backwards to their censor standards. The political messages are so blatant that JC spews them out while being self-delusional in thinking that he's being patriotic--or they must be paying him enough to not choke while delivering those lame lines! Give the audience some credit and a break!! People are not that dumb and naive... If JC really want to put out this kind of foolishness, then at least get some better, smarter and more creative writers!
