And Just Like That...: Tragically Hip (2021)
Really embarrassing
This episode is a particular low considering where Sex and The City was. I understand writers tried to stay relevant, but the whole storyline degraded to elementary practical jokes and situational sketches down to our basic primary needs. This is neither funny, nor entertaining and I am quite puzzled as to what kind of audience this might appeal. Not the one that liked the original series, I guess...
Modern Times (1936)
We had great men back at the tim
The sincerity of this movie is amazing by today's and all times' standards. A really brave statement and a guy who did not embrace the agenda of that particular day. Cannot stop what's coming, but let's be fair of it...
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)
It was a great fun
Thanks for the show guys, managed to capture the fun part of this particular contest (I reckon to have watched it too many times). As far as comedies like this go, this is a great one. A good cast, no over-acting, made irony of the cliches. We need some fun and and this movie delivers....
Sideways (2004)
This movie changed my life
Well, the title says it pretty much. I would have never discovered wine countries around the world, never really appreciated a glass of Santa Barbara pinot. Thank you, guys :)
Mighty Mike (2019)
Hilarious!
We somehow found this on the HBO Go app. It's a really funny CGI animation, I would say one of the best in the genre. Limited number of characters, but all of them well crafted and entertaining. Seems not so popular at this stage, but should it be given a greater audience it could really be popular family series.
Timecop: The Berlin Decision (2003)
it's a good and intelligent film
When I read the reviews I was expecting something really awful and cheap, like some of the latest Segal movies (sorry to those of you who may have liked them). Actually, the storyline is well developed, no false over-dramatizing or similar flaws you may have in a martial art/sci-fi sequel. The cast is good and it is shot very well, regardless of the low budget. And you don't have to compare it to Timecop 1, this one has value of its own. 8/10 for me.
Shrek (2001)
watch it over, gets better every time
I've seen it 5 times, my wife - 10 and the children - i don't know... For someone who loves movies and usually not the trivial ones that should mean something. I saw some of the comments in the forum and was surprised to a certain extent because it is hard for me to imagine that someone who has seen the film would classify it as "children animation" and would judge it by that criteria. Yes, children like it, it's fun for them, but I don't think they can get more than 1/3rd of the fine (and not so "refined") humor in this movie. Both Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers give lifetime performances as donkey and Shrek. Jokes are really nice, as well as at least a dozen of classical phrases that you can apply in any true-life situation. Animation is awesome and soundtrack is a big hit. not less than 100 out of 100! hhhhmmmmm, there's probably a serious reason why donkeys don't write :)
Narc (2002)
good acting and directing, but nothing special
Surely Patric and Liotta do great performances, but the plot is too "average" and as other reviewers commented it - we have seen it all. The story goes either too slow or too fast (that is done intentionally, may be). In the most of the critical situations Patric's character reacts oddly, such reactions do not make the film more surprising or capturing. Far from training day.... 5 out of 10
3000 Miles to Graceland (2001)
10 out of 10!!!
Well, I see usually more than 10 films a month, but I rarely had so much fun with a movie. I don't like mindless actions and teen movies and this aint one of them, besides some of the comments i read on imdb. The film is made with fine humour and the characters are portrayed deep and evolving. Kostner is really great, almost classic... thx he did not play another middle aged/broken hearted/lonely man. Actually I liked him for the first time since the wolves. And the whole Elvis thing gets much flavor to the story. So why are so many people disapointed? I see a lot shocked Elvis fans... Sorry guys, Elvis might be dead, but films like that revive, rather than kill him. And why did "serious" stars participate in intense action? better silly action than louzy drama
