The title of this movie says it all! War is something terrible. A movie about friendship that ends. A woman that will loose her lover and that all in the dramatic way we know from the early silent movies. I saw this movie with life-music, maybe that makes some difference. But I think it is a beautiful early anti-war movie.

Is this a cult-movie? I think so. The shots in this movie are too long and there is too much talking about nothing. I think this movie is about a mysterious atmosphere just as in" film-noir "are about atmosphere. The plot is not important in this kind of movies. I think there are many things borrowed from David Lynch, the brothers Coen and maybe Robert Altman (too much stories-in-one,too many persons)This movie is too long, too difficult and after one hour it starts boring you.
