You NEED to watch this show
25 May 2024
Yes. Holocaust moves are done well usually. There are tons of them. But this one... this is an amazing perspective

What a story. The writers should be super proud of this show.

I won't give away any spoilers. It isn't necessary in a review.

Some parts of the show are a bit drawn out. But it's for effect and it works.

The acting is spot on. Every actor truly performs beyond amazing and makes the entire show feel super real. As if we are living in the moment.

The closing scene made me cry. To see the real Lali was such an amazing closing to the show.

This show is something that every human on earth should watch. It moved me beyond anything I ever watched before.

The acting made me feel connected to the historical characters and I literally shed tears and laughed with the characters as the story unfolded.

No other show has gripped my heart like Tattooist of Auschwitz.

If you haven't seen this yet, watch it.

😢 if you have any empathy in your body, you will be as moved as I was.

Pretty good show
15 March 2024
As a major fan of the Rookie, I invest of the time to watch the show.

OK, so it's not as good as the original the rookie series however, it is pretty good. I really like the writing of the show, and the acting is decent.

Believe it or not, I actually started watching the show more because I like James Lesure from Las Vegas. He's such a great doctor that is so under appreciated and does not have enough rules in Hollywood.

The show itself has decent writing and is entertaining. It's actually quite funny and whimsical at times and I really like the fact that the main character (played by Niecy Nash) does such a great job and is quite hilarious. She has wonderful acting skills and gives the show such an entertaining spin.

Like the fact that the show brings in the characters from the original rookie series series from time to time. Honestly, those are my favourite scenes of the show.

Will I watch every episode of the show? Yes.

Why? I really am a fan of the rookie and always look forward to seeing cameo appearances from the original characters of that show.

All set and done though I do like the show overall. It is not a crazy amazing show, but it helps me pass time and is entertaining.

I recommend that if you finish the rookie series, this is a good filler until another episode of the rookie comes out.

That being said, I do like it. It's fun, it's entertaining, and the acting is really good.

Just watch it. You'll enjoy it.

Love the actors and the story
15 March 2024
Amazing show. I hesitated because I didn't like the shows some of the actors did in the past.

Well, I was wrong.

This show is amazing. Best cop show I ever watched.

The acting is really great. The writing is amazing.

Some typical Hollywood cheese in the show. Like how quickly the characters forget about past romance involvement and how they are always in gun fights. BUT the cheese actually contributes to the quality of the show.

The main characters are super talented and do a great job of maintaining who they are throughout every season.

It does not hurt that Lucy is adorable and so cute. Most of the actors look real to life and like someone that lives next door to you. Which I respect.

I had a cop that lived next door to me for 15 years and he was a human being that served and protected my life. I always respected the people in blue but gained a profound respect once I understood how they risked their lives daily to keep me safe.

This show is a must watch. In fact, I binge watched the whole show in a matter of 2 months for how much I was into it.

All time fav show. #2 on my list. (S come to the Walking Dead universe).

Watch the show. Give it 3 episodes. You will be hooked like I was.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Amazing
21 January 2024
The writing is beyond words. Amazing.

Acting is great. Story is fantastic

My one and only complaint: there are only 7 episodes and they say it's a mini series

I WANT MORE!!!

I enjoyed this show so much I watched it twice.

The quips. One liners. I love Ted!

Rarely is a TV series better than the original movies. This one breaks that rule. It's so much better. (Sorry. Whalberg: I think you are super talented but...)

Max does an amazing job. He is so grown up since the Parenthood series. Does a great job acting. His banter with Ted (MacFarlane) is amazing.

The dad (Grimes) is amazing. Grimes is so funny I. The show. Love his character (and his dump truck LOL)

Mom is too funny. This has to be Ubach's. EST performance ever.

Whigham as Blaire does a beyond amazing job as the supporting actor that truly balances out Ted and John. The trio could easily do improv with their skills and nail it.

Non stop comedy. Grounded to reality. And so against the agendas of the day, this show truly represents the comic relief that society needs to chill out and just be who you are.

Do i recommend this show? Absolutely

That's why i have watched it twice already.

@MacFarlane: please bring back more seasons of this. I think this could be your most successful franchise yet.

Amira wears a crucifix the entire movie yet she's Muslim???
3 February 2023
I want someone to explain to me how Eddie Murphy is such a devout muslim... and is beyond over the top close minded in the first half of the movie when in fact Amira is wearing a cross at the same time.

Look at the scene where they are first together in bed. The "tent" scene with the blankets. Amira is CLEARLY wearing a cross.

You can CLEARLY see a crucifix on her necklace so many times in the movie - it is not just a movie prop - she wears it so much in so many scenes!

Just google "you people amira" and you will see it so fast that she is wearing a Christian crucifix that has an open loop at the top - a very popular and common cross that Christians commonly wear to show their faith.

As a Christian myself, I struggled with why the movie chose to mix a Jewish man and a Muslim woman trying to build a life together when in fact the woman depicts Christianity in her actions and jewelry... not to mention, Eddie Murphy was baptized Catholic himself... Nia Long (albeit such a talented and remarkably beautiful woman) is also Christian and not Muslim.

Why the casting agents and directors chose to pick on Judaism vs Muslim in a relationship is beyond me. I struggled to get past the divide as it felt highly artificial and really forced.

As for the performance, Murphy is always a treat to watch on screen, however I really did not feel his authenticity in this movie. Long also felt extremely forced. Jonah Hill was completely in his element and did a great job... as did Lauren London. I had never seen a performance by Lauren London before and really appreciated her skill and talent. I hope to see more of this remarkably beautiful woman in future films as she is quite talented and enjoyable to watch on screen.

Overall, this movie is nice to watch. I respect the struggle of a multi-cultural marriage as I lived through the same myself when I wanted to marry my wife (with my parents). We are diverse in culture, ethnic heritage and religion but it still works for us. I do not see colour or any other distinguishing factors in people - we are all human regardless of race, sex, orientation, preferences and heritage. I love all humans equally and respect every human as my equal.

I just struggled with Amira coming from a strong Muslim family in the movie yet she proudly wore a crucifix in so many scenes. It really ruined the movie for me in more ways than I can explaim.

Excellent Thriller - Kept me on the edge of my seat!
24 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It has been SO long since I watched a great thriller like this. I really enjoyed watching Prey for the Devil.

The effects were fantastic, the music was spot on, and the movie made me jump quite a few times.

The acting was also really good... I expected the movie to be just another cheesy thriller about exorcisms, but since the original Exorcist, I have not watched another exorcism movie that came close.

Prey for the Devil kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It is a well paced movie that has no slow parts. The acting is believable and the talent of the cast shines. Nothing felt forced. Well done.

I didn't give it 10 stars for one reason - the ending. Will there be a sequel? Likely (and I hope so) but I was disappointed that it left off the way it did. Maybe because I was so into the movie that I did not want it to end.

There were only three things I thought were off in the movie: (Spoiler Alerts) (1) the ceiling fan scene - it was a bit out there. Firstly, I do not know anyone that has such a huge ceiling fan in their bedroom, especially since their apartment was clearly in a low-income building. It was a bit out of place. Not to mention when the blades started flying off they did not seem too concerned that it would kill them. Also, once one blade falls off in the real world, the entire fan would wobble and be unbalanced and would likely fall. Maybe the demon kept it straight - after all the demon was making it go that fast in the first place.

(2) After Ann is successful, the scene with the cardinal offering her to go to the Vatican to train felt strange. Sister Euphemia was proud of Ann, and everyone was in a "high-five" state. Meanwhile pre-climax, they were all upset with Ann and sent her away to the Sisterhood where she grew up. The whole thing felt a bit weird.

(3) The fact that Ann was willing to go to the Vatican so quickly after learning that Natalie was her daughter. I thought she would decline the offer with the opportunity to get to know her daughter. I don't know - that part was a bit odd since she had just told her that she wants to get to know her (indirectly - the bed scene when Natalie leaves with her adopted mother).

Those minor things did not ruin the movie though - I still loved it. This is the first time I've seen Jacqueline Byers, and really loved her acting. Christian Navarro and Colin Salmon are also very talented actors and did a great job.

Great movie though. Looking forward to the sequel!

Encounter (III) (2021)

Don't waste your time
17 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Riz Ahmed was the ONLY good thing in this movie. His acting is excellent, however the entire movie was terrible. So many things that just would never really happen in the world... I am not talking about the plot or storyline because what the story is about could absolutely happen. I am referring to actions and reactions to what is happening, which comes down to how the movie was directed.

It is beyond confusing and completely misleading... even 10 minutes into the movie, and you are thinking "what???"

SPOILER ALERT:

You start watching the movie, and it shows how something comes down to earth and infects insects... then you see mosquitoes biting people, and the alien parasite infect people like a Symbiote. People clearly are infected throughout the movie, yet at the conclusion you learn that the main character was just delusional and has a mental illness.

The intro to the movie makes you believe it will be a sci-fi movie, but in the end, it is anything but that. Trying to trick the audience is one thing, but switching the entire plot line the way it happens in the movie just does not work.

And don't get me started on the ending... I was left always waiting to find out about the symbiote, right up to the last scene of the movie, only to be disappointed with the most lack lustre climax I have witnessed in years.

I feel for the actors in the movie as it had so much potential but clearly the director let the actors and the audience down...

I hope Michael Pearce tries again as I do like his shorts and enjoyed the movie Beast that he directed. Check that movie out if you haven't already and you will see how talented Michael Pearce is... sadly Encounter will likely be the worst work in his career.

What a waste of time
5 September 2021
So many big names and sadly a total waste of 2-3 hours of your life. Avoid at all costs. Really bad story line. Even worse acting. And so many filler scenes that the camera stares at nothing. OMG how did this even get funding? Terrible movie. Literally THE worst that Quentin ever made. Even writing this review is a waste of my time but hoping to spare others of the torture I endured watching this awful movie.

What an amazing show. This is cowboys vs Indians vs corporate America with a dysfunctional family at the centre of it. Kevin Costner is in his prime in this show.

Please bring us season 4!!! You can't leave us hanging like this any longer!!!

I normally don't like westerns but this is such an amazing show.

Finally! A family friendly game show
20 July 2019
I am watching this with my kids and they really love it. As do I.

I am a big fan of Dax. He is great to watch on screen. He is perfect for this role.

Kinda feels like "Deal or No Deal" did in the early years.

Could this get stale if they don't stay ahead of the curve and liven it up over time? Sure. But a season or two as the game is should be fine.

I think they need to explain how the wheel is NOT fixed a bit more though. It can feel "fixed" based on how they show the wheel. But when reading up in the tech used I don't think it's really that fixed.

Anyways I for one like this game show. And can see myself watching it for a few years. It's intense and Dax is awesome.

Great show. Great story.
2 December 2018
Quite a few twists and turns in the story. Look forward to watching Bad Blood.

Some things seem unbelievable in real life but who knows what that works is really like.

Kim Coats does a great job acting. He is a talented actor that doesn't get the recognition he deserves (as long as he isn't trying to cry... sometimes looks forced but aside from that he is a talented actor)

Cannot wait for season 3. OMG season 2 finale really left me hanging on a cliff.
