Unacceptably low acting and shocking dialogs, amateurish
4 June 2010
The subject dealt with in the movie is no doubt, a difficult one.. It should not be touched by directors of the lower sort or students as it may be the case here. I have a problem to establish which of the 2 Polish movies is worse? "Zielone lata" or "Swinki". The previous is far older movie so it is forgiven. The latter one is unforgivably low quality... the acting is beyond any comments, alas except perhaps for Tomek but also only "just". The dialogs are clumsy, unnatural, most of the time unnecessary and dummy. Of course there is a room in them for vulgarity as usually is the case in most Polish movies searching for a cheap stunt. Poles love talking and because talk is cheap...they do a lot of it in movies. Unintelligently executed work. Not much is happening for the duration of 3/4 of the movie... then the finale is somewhat acceptable.. Not the conversations of course... they will be no good to the very end. I've made subs for this movie and that was a real torture for me. This type of social issues, as i mentioned already - should never be allowed to be handled by an amateur crew. Waste of time to watch...If you are into these type of society problems - go for the British "The war zone" Not that is spectacular but at least the acting is not that bad...Boy, o boy... those Poles :-)

Simple to follow
5 November 2009
The movie offers quite a simple plot. Nothing in it that has been left to munch on, really. Is it worth watching at all then? Absolutely. It is a short burst of joy (15 min.)for those, who expect something more from a movie than just a radio style talk. There is not really great demand to put on actors either. If anything, acting is not the best at times. The boys' acting is not convincing although easy to follow none the less. The intimate scene has been executed wonderfully and it is quite tactful and discrete. Why I give 10/10? It's because the short movie HAS TO have a point, a message. That is the basic requirement for making a good short movie. Well, this one has it all.

Stand alone gem
25 March 2009
In the context of the "world wide cinema" intellectual recession - this film stands out as a gem. The movie must not be told in any details prior to watching it-is my view. Comments around the technical aspect of movie making should be harmless though: Having to disposal high tech digital equipment these days - I would have expected more of an art work/play around the nude scenes, body shapes and more attention to lighting elsewhere. At this level of an art - more play with lights would further benefit the overall appearance of the movie which otherwise is well outside of the guttersnipes' consumption anyway. At times the contrasts on faces were on the "sharp side of things". Employing "counter soft" lighting would give that extra feel of excellently made portraits. That's on technical side of things. The film stands still firm at 10 points though since “Rambo” style movies gets also the same scores :-). Majority of films on the subject are made based on the far reaching consultations with the psycho/sociological professional teams. The result of such “out of touch with reality” studies is always a sterile movie. Such movies are indeed analytical at best. To describe this movie as such ( as i read here and there) is a brave business to provoke to be laughed at. In my view, it is not possible to make this movie without the natural inspiration on the theme flowing from within the director's heart. It almost feels as if it is an autobiographical story although the director doesn’t say that. How otherwise one could know what is inside an adolescent ripped apart by the fate. And all of it in such minute details? This film is what an art is all about and it is great news to hear that the director is working on another movie around the same theme. In the event - I can’t wait to see his "Brecha". ”En tu aucencia” is an absolute must to see. Well, at least by the better part of our society members.
