one of the best shows I've ever seen
30 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I just finished the show... I started watching all from a clip of Cameron Monaghan as Jerome in a music video on youtube..it looked captivating so it took me awhile to ask youtubers to find out what show this is... unfortunately a few spoilers were on there but i watched the show in a month... Penguin and riddler were thrilling fabulous characters but the best villain was Cameron as jerome.. his acting was incredible..best live action Joker ever... his looks, the changing hair styles, eye acting, physical acting, facial expressions, humour, and the variety of laughs and the playful yet sadistic behavior kinda scared me haha... I waited so long in the show for his return... one of the best villains in tv history... so fun to watch....sad when things I enjoy end.

The Sadness (2021)
9/10
werll that was fun
21 May 2023
A Bloody disgusting cinema experience...lol...daaaam... its like 28 days later meets NEAR DARK. NEAR DARK by Kathryn Bigelow had a similar concept but it was with vampires...a different take of what they were like. Basically in NEAR DARK they were just disgusting psychopathic blood drinking humans and very dirty too. No glitter, no levitating from coffins like nosferatu, no long fingernails, no fangs no mythology just PSYCHO trashy killer humans who had to avoid sunlight. Simple as that. The speed of the zombies in Sadness reminded me of 28 days later. Pretty horrific violence but i could tell they had a lot of fun making this..the practical effects were very sam raimi/evil dead. I liked it as messed up as it sounds.

The Crow (1994)
10/10
BEST MOVIE EVER MADE
3 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
THE SOUNDTRACK, THE DIALOGUE, THE DARKNESS, THE ACTION, THE ACTING, THE DIRECTING... EVERYTHING IS PERFECTLY DONE. THIS MASTERPIECE WILL ALWAYS BE TIMELESS

Brandons impeccable acting skills blow me away everytime....most comic book movies the character has a robot face the entire time. But in THE CROW eric has a massive wide range of emotions and facial expressions...u can see the hurt in his eyes and face and the anger and devastation.,.especially when he infects the main villain with shelly's 30 hours of pain... he was dead but had more humanity in his character than any other movie i've seen. Even in the belly of darkness and misery he found a blissful joy through the echo of the laugh of children in the street if only for a minute.... this movie is gut wrenching cuz it has alot of heart and soul... r.i.p brandon lee ...unforgettable performance.

I liked it until.....
27 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Great cast and a very weird film however it lost me during the cringiest moment ever: Plagiarism. The scene when squirrel and moose fight benny and delgrado its the exact dialogue from the first scene in WAY OF THE GUN... go watch it and then watch that scene. Thats tacky as hell... cringe!!!! And in a film like this it would not have been so difficult to write their own stuff.

FUN AND UNIQUE
21 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I like this movie.. I don't understand the few negative reviews but all they talk about was a misleading move title... the title is referring to his childhood not the present! Anyway other than the very end I liked this movie very much. The style of it reminds me of JOHN DIES AT THE END...A stylish, fun, and unique psychological horror. I thought it'd be another cliche imaginary friend movie but there was an interesting symbolism here but u have to pay attention to it. In some ways it reminds me of HEREDITARY ..

The Conjuring (2013)
10/10
scariest movie ever made
29 March 2021
I think this is definitely in the top 3 of the scariest movies ever made. I think its the only movie I've seen where I just can't relax and feel uncomfortable throughout the entire film. Its difficult to watch and the credits alone showing paranormal images which are horrifying is scary by itself. Theres even a scene where lili taylor's character comes up to the room to find her youngest talking to an imaginary friend and all u see is the door push open, no arm, no voice, even that is SCARY. Out of hundreds of scary movies I thin its possible we found one of the scariest movies ever made. Its right up there with the Jap horror film called Kairo where u see aparitions moving really slowly and theres no loud scary music or jump scares or anything and its just creepy as hell. Yep, the conjuring is at that level perhaps scarier.

Killer Joe (2011)

"OR HOWEVER MUCH!!"
25 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was at first deeply disturbed by this movie but there was something about it that draws you in. I really think the dark humour in this movie is brilliant... and each character is given near same amount of screen time and attention to detail is amazing. Joe was still a mysterious person, and thats what makes his character so interesting and I even found myself respecting him because he keeps his word unlike this family he is dealing with. We have a fantastic actor veteran cast, acting is done to perfection, and I don't think it would have been nearly as great without these actors especially Matthew. I like how this is different than most dark comedies especially in respect to the fact the characters are not 1 dimensional. We are suppose to find them unpleasant but most movies like this genre make you hate the characters too much (such as the case of BABY DRIVER) this story is simplistic yet the depiction and interaction of the characters is what makes the movie good because even though they are flawed they make attempts to still be human right up until the very end, which makes the ending so dark yet hilarious.

it lost me
4 January 2021
I liked season 1, but I can't get through season 2 I was actually forcing myself. The writing is awful and annoying. Very unrealistic. Giving so much power to a psychiatrist who can just come onto any crime scene, have all the information of an investigation, and not to mention how stupid jack crawford and alana are. They let their emotions cloud their judgment so they are unable to think objectively. Its just bad very repetitive and contrived. I also think the actor playing hannibal is extremely boring. Anthony hopkins was the only interesting hannibal and the actor in MANHUNTER as well. I just don't find him intrigiuing. The writing is just blah. The first season was promising, but season 2 is not binge worthy its like pulling teeth.

good acting and story up until the last act
27 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I remember being a bit scared watching this and I've seen movies like A SERBIAN FILM and MARTYRS which are more realistic because it deals with real world issues like human and child trafficking. The Last Exorcism was scary and directed beautifully the first part of the movie. It seemed natural and realistic due to the actors as very little scary music which I'm not fond of. The fact the actress could contort herself was very cool and had never been tried before. The scene that scared me the most is when she is in the mirror cracking her neck to the side because of the insane look in her eyes (I watch a lot of true crime documentaries and its how I imagine someone looks when they go crazy and kill their families) an absence of light, emptiness, and evil and the fact its blurry makes it more disturbing.

The ending was something from ROANOKE (american horror story) it did not work well. All it did was tie Nell's pictures to it meaning she was possessed and the demon already knew what was going to happen as premonitions are part of its gift. That was creepy but the whole cult thing and the brother suddenly being a a children of the corn type of character seemed very contrived. The suspensefulness and ambiguity was working quite well in the first half of the movie. The rosemary's baby devil's child was extremely unoriginal and its been done 5 million times too many. Other than that the movie is one of the best of this genre (the shaky-cam, documentary style blair witch genre) 6/10

Blood Father (2016)

very underrated movie
3 July 2020
This is such an underrated movie. I found it very entertaining and very moving but not contrived. I think its one of Mel's best movies. Not enough people have seen this gem. For an action movie it was very well acted (the action parts were just a plus) I felt the story to be believable and there is a lot of chemistry between the father and daughter. Worth a watch. In a weird way it reminds me of Gran torino (the bonding and the endings) Blood Father us a Fantastic film. Great cast. I saw it when it came out and enjoyed watching it yet again on netflix.

"I'm sorry I made it bad"
24 May 2020
I really enjoyed this show! Nice quarantine binge moment for me. I would like to also point out how impressed I was with Uma Thurman who really was the "heart" of the show. She was sensational and deserves an award.

In many ways the show reminded me of Hereditary. Psychological horror is an art. Also later its more of a supernatural theme. I enjoyed the native american actors. The directing, the acting, the bright neon colors, the music, the horrific special effects for the scary parts. Netflix does not have too many good horror shows anymore. I'm bummed the show was canceled all because organ donor organizations complained that it negatively depicts transplantation. Yes you heard that right. A ficitonal horror show with supernatural theme was canceled because people can't separate reality from fiction. Very sad because this show was worth a dam. Netflix cares too much what the snowflakes think they need to stop canceling shows just cuz of others opinions and criticisms. They canceled The OA also. Just when there is a unique show around they go and cancel it for good. Figures

WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH
21 May 2019
Very sad. I really miss the 90's. And to think Boondock Saints came in at the end of a great decade (same as fight club and memento) it will never be the same. If a serious sequel to BS was done it would have been a few years after the original.. a decade is too long. The loud childish "humour" is appealing to the younger audiences and in 2009 it was popular to call someone a waste of space and be annoying as hell. Stick with the original which was an edgy drama that had some dark humour at moments that were appropriate. Horrible horrible horrible over the top crackhead sequel. Set it on fire. Pretend the original is the only one that exists cuz that one was worthy to be remembered and cherished.

Outcast (2016–2017)
2/10
bad writing
7 April 2019
Some say its the slowness...not at all! its the horrid writing...not enough excitement or anything interesting happening between demon scenes... I can name shows like The Sopranos for example which an be pretty slow but the acting is outstanding and once and awhile something major happens. Not in outcast. The first season was very bland. I could not get through season 2 it was like pulling teeth slow and painful I asked why force myself? shows are suppose to be fun and entertaining or interesting...outcast has none of this. I was so disappointed. I stick to shows like supernatural, ash versus evil dead (even though its canceled due to pirating issues) american horror story (even though its going downhill) haunting of hill house on netflix, and Salem (which ended long ago but it was very exciting every episode wont make you fall asleep) I can handle slow if there uis a payoff but it kept dragging on with no filler or other things happening (subplots) very lame. Another good example is penny dreadful which could be extremely slow paced but it was a fantastic gothic horror.. and its final season the slowest but outstanding performances and never failed to entertain. Outcast was doomed from the start. Snoozefest

not horrible but not great
10 March 2019
Had a strong beginning but quickly falls apart. Some of the characters are too over the top and do things that make NO SENSE. Honestly I thought Trespass sucked but compared to this it seems the better of the two. Parts were very rushed and had bad special effects, weird slow motion that was random, and the film lacked intensity. 6/10 I recommend HOSTAGE with bruce willis. At least it has good action and is pretty intense at times.

Training Day (2001)
4/10
pretty ridiculous
16 February 2019
I use to like this movie but I honestly can't stand it now. Too many cliche scenes, over the top cartoon like characters (like comic book villains like in baby driver) also undeveloped as well. The part that was most annoying (and it wasn't Denzel overacting) it was the mexican gang scene. How many times can Ese, Holmes, Homies, vato, and then another ten more Ese's be really that necessary. This was suppose to be a serious movie? hmmm. Not even close.

The idea of this movie was interesting but terribly done. One dimensional boring or unlikeable characters and violence, cussing, and a few "gangster" scenes. There are much better movies of this genre thats thought provoking and doesn't come off cheesy and unrealistic. I highly recommend HARSH TIMES. Its not a good coop bad cop movie but its a very well done film about two friends who are the opposite when they grow into men and have different goals and problems. Christian Bale is outstanding in it too and unlike training day, harsh times has real gut emotions and believable scenes. Also even the unlikeable character has some depth and humanity and we get to see different sides to them unlike Training day where alonzo was awful from start to finish just a bad guy no real relatable traits. I give Training Day a 4/10. Denzel and ethan are amazing actors but i thought the script was bad and made no sense. The story is moronic and the characters are caricatures. Stinker. Rent HARSH TIMES!

A Quiet Place (2018)
6/10
Good to watch but found it frustrating
4 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I liked this movie but some of the main scenes were so wtf I can't even...

1. She is pregnant... but monsters can hear you miles away by the sound of a jar breaking. Babies scream and not just babies so do children from age 2-8. So pretty much, for many years. Sometimes they can't control it.

2. WHY IS THE DOOR MISSING ON THE BASEMENT AND FRONT DOOR. No door has safety locks or anything either so what the hell.

3. PANIC ROOM? BUILD IT. MAKE IT SOUND PROOF. Stock it full of supplies also. Before giving birth they should have had a better plan like if she is close to 9 months stay in the room.. which is safe. Or just a room they can get to in a hurry which is booby trapped.. since they decided to love in a home with no front door and no door on the basement..lol

4. The light thing was cool. but what about sound? they even had the idea near the waterfall. I sleep with a sound machine which muffles louder noises so I can rest due to insomnia. Also loud noise even music could have been great weapons to distract the creatures. Or just enough to have something going all the time something loud enough where the creatures get use to it (and again if the house was sound proof it wouldn't bother the family.

5. The oxygen wood crib coffin for the baby... hmmm. this is not realistic at all. Babies need to be held and there is no way around this or the screaming. Again. sound proof panic room underground. so simple..instead of a house that has no door and a basement with no door..

6. WHY NOT JUST HUNT THE CREATURES? they knew how many were in their area.. 3. So why not hunt them down and kill them. Better than living in fear. The wall in the basement says WHATS THEIR WEAKNESS.. its obvious that a super sensitive hearing is their weakness and could be used to their advantage Then there is the nail scene. I just can't. .

reminds me of horrid things from the walking dead... u never leave supplies behind especially medications or batteries.. u may not need them until later or someone else might and can be traded for something you do need. Overall this could have been a brilliant masterpiece. A totally different movie, but I recommend The Road with Viggo Mortensen . Its not a creature movie buts its a well done end of the world film and its a good movie.

Not that good but seen worse...
4 February 2019
Thank God its free online as I wanted to watch this for awhile. Rutger did not have very much screen time sadly. The film begins nicely and we are told many things but we never see it. No flashbacks of the parents, no climactic ending, very one dimensional characters. Almost zero character development unlike other vampire movies. We don't know enough about these people to form any opinion. Just Boring. The narrative was tooo long (sorry cuz I adore Malcolm Mcdowell). I didn't even have a problem with corey feldman (but I would have FIRED the makeup artist). The latex above the eyebrows looked like dried cottage cheese. It was tooo distracting I could see the line where it ended on both eyebrows i wanted to peel it off so badly. Same as lady gaga in american horror story hotel (those dam eyebrows!) There IS a way to make invisible eyebrows smooth and draw an eyebrow above it without looking wrinkly. Same with his left arm covering his tattoos the arm looked hairy bruised and wrinkled because of whatever they caked on the skin. I wont write a 5 page review but honestly it could have been more exciting. The pacing was odd and the camera work. 3/10.

very emotional and scary!!
22 October 2018
Absolutely one of the best horror shows I've ever seen. It reminds me of when American Horror Story first aired (but now its full of loud self centered narcissistic unlikeable obnoxious characters) I miss the old AHS and wanted to try a new series..the trailer for this blew me away! The acting was very impressive especially during a scene where its a continuous shot and it seems like a real family arguing and in real pain! very very impressed. In an odd way this show reminds me of the outstanding SIX FEET UNDER but more of a horror version of it. The family drama is there just like SFU and its sooo completely relatable. I love this show. Can be a little heartbreaking at times but its beautifully written.

amazing visuals and intense emotion
10 October 2018
I really liked this movie. A masterpiece in my opinion! very thought provoking and I enjoyed the ending just as much as the movie and the amazing visual effects and beautiful sound score and music. Very well acted and good plot. Great acting and not a forgettable film! its clearly an allegory for accepting your sexual preference and being free to be who you are without shame. This is meaningful, relatable and the way it was directed was artistic, brutal and delicate all at the same time. Very enjoyable watch.

disappointment
10 October 2018
And here I thought OUTCAST was the most boring show ever... this show made so many interesting promises and delivered nothing in the end. Even the acting was bland as hell. Forgettable show and I don't even know why I kept watching. Sissy Spacek was the only interesting character. Bill was creepy but his character was too mysterious and boring too I got tired of his creepy stares and meaningless dialogue with the other characters. There was nothing exciting here. Pass this one up.

never forgot this one
20 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
i was shocked cuz i placed a bid for a VHS on ebay and 10 other people wanted it also, so i lost. but i found another old VHS copy on ebay. it never got to DVD for some reason.

so, great movie, mainly cuz its like a cautionary tale to warn girls a guy can be hot, rich and successful and still be a psycho. they need to make more movies like this, not a goofy scream type movie but a real edgy serious thriller like this one. richard is exceptionally hot in this film. great acting. whats creepy though is i did all this stuff when i was 14. i talked to strange men from chatlines. i thought i was so smart i never told them where i lived or met up with them. i also lied about my age. i was lucky i never met a psycho. or then again some of them were, but they never found out where i lived. my friend and i thought we were so cool we made our voices sound sexy and would have late night chats with 25 year old guys. i remember one night my mom walked in and heard me, of course i lied and told her it was a joke if she only knew what we were doing, so dangerous. Cuz chatlines are dangerous because predators go on there often looking for victims. And sometimes we'd randomly call people and start talking to guys. teen girls are boy crazy and there are a lot of psycho's out there. This movie is so creepy the way they did it was you knew all along who he was, instead of finding out at the end, it made it more creepy that she was playing with his mind and it turns out he was a serial killer. pretty spooky.

also, the mouth on those girls, holy hell! "if you got laid every once and a while you wouldn't be such a bitch" "if you're mom had a boyfriend and "got it" once and a while she might leave you alone and let you date" lol, i forgot how sassy teenagers can be. i should know cuz a couple of those guys from the chatlines wanted to dirty talk and i may have let them so yeah, now that im much older, thats straight up creepy!! lol
