Legion (2010)
One of the best ever
I really don't get why there are so many bad opinions about this movie.I watched it just recently, like 2 weeks ago and I went 3 more times to the cinema to watch it with different friends. The movie is amazing.Paul is probably his best performance so far...just perfect. All the other actor are great as well and the movie is well paced and it mixes really good few of my favorite genres. The first 30 mins will probably remind some of the classic fans of Hitchcock s best movies the suspense, the silence and then bang...classy!The movie actually has a great message too, which if understood correctly can even change your life(watch the movie and find out what I mean).
The action scenes are very good as well-especially the final few fights :P.It's true that there could have been made a bit more on the Legion and stuff but despite this the movie rocks.
10/10
The Jerk Theory (2008)
Cute,interesting,worth watching...
At first i though it would be just another high-school movie but after the first few minutes the movie got me.
The story-line is not extremely unique but yet very catching and enjoyable. Soundtrack really does its job well during all the important and not-so-much-* moments.
About the actors well I must say that they really got a bright future. Not to low nor overreacting just as much emotion and everything as it is needed.Directing is also good and the act (at least to me) is well paced.
One of the few movies i rate 10/10.Recommended for everyone who's looking for nice fresh comedy with good acting and nice soundtrack ;) .
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)
way too funny that i've expected
When i first heard of this movie i was expecting some kind of road trip comedy with 2 guys, but fortunately it was much much much better. The acting was great(both Steve Martin and John Candy), the directing and everything else too.I've seen it like 10 times or even more and it's still funny(the burned to the bone, but still working, car scene was just :D ).The movie is a must-see on cinema(in case you know someone who works there) or some good DVD-home system.I recommend it to every good-comedy-movie fan.
my score
10/10 :)
Twilight (2008)
lame...
It was hard to believe my eyes. All my class has been talking about that movie for weeks and when i finally saw it , i just felt that i badly need fresh air outside the cinema.Still i pulled myself together and stayed to the end.I must admit that i haven't read the book but many things about vampire nature surprised me.First i found out that on sun light vampires sparkle better than just-cleaned bathroom...and they have no teeth so children better throw away your vampire teeth for the next Halloween, you don't want to be out of date don't you.The so called romance was terrible, i don't know why but i didn't feel one bit of real emotion, they didn't even kiss normally (don't count the final kiss). Now about the white faces, it's OK for the vampires they're dead anyway but the whole high school was like some kind of Nazi-Gothic heaven. Some might say this was the rainiest town in the country, yes but that white color of theirs is just like ill(or dead) person O_o. The acting was wooden few times but after all I've said it was supportable.Unfortunately the storyline wasn't.The whole idea of vampire-human relationship is quite familiar to the public (at least to me) and the end was confusing i mean i really though he will bite her and they'd live happily ever after.I really hope that the book is better.
my score 3/10
The Fifth Commandment (2008)
a nice trailer, nothing more
When i heard of this movie, it was very promising, like Bangkok dangerous or sort of.But hell no.The movie begins confusing and you actually don't get the right idea of the characters. The the plot goes even more confusing at the concert and keeps it's way of lame events all the way to the end.The boss-fight at the end is total OMG the collateral dmg guy was supposed to use some kind of sharp weapon not a kung fu pan.For those who don't know there are a lot of way cooler weapons in kung fu.By the way i've always thought that the evil mean guy in any movie shouldn't do kung fu, because it's kinda a defensive matrial art and it's philosophy is quite calming and purifying and he is a f**king psycho. The ending is lame as expected.I was expecting some kind of Big Hit ending where "main" hero was supposed to grab the girl after dealing with the mean dude, but no the makers of this had better idea:she keeps on singing some sappy pop-trash and he is somewhere.Rofl really... If after all this you've red you still want to watch the movie better rent it from some tormented soul
Voroshilovskiy strelok (1999)
Great movie, everyone needs to watch it
In answer of the previous comment I'd like to say that the movie doesn't want to be exciting with mysteries like some thriller-kind films. The idea is to make you feel like the main character (the shooter obviously) and to pick a side in the conflict-would you sit and watch like the tabla-players or you are gonna take the justice in your own hands and give retribution and a bit vengeance of course. My point is that the movie (my opinion) wants not to be interesting with some scenes of complicated events, but with the emotional side of what's happen.Because to start a war against the chief of the Russian Police Department is kinda risky and dangerous, but in this situation the old sharpshooter doesn't have any other choice. The defending of the family's honor needs extreme actions, actions who none wouldn't even think to do against such overwhelming mass of corrupted police mans. But it's true thats the situation in many countries that had left the Soviet Union (1989-1991 hope I'm not wrong for the period of the breaking down) .In the end i'm gonna finish with something in my style--> If someone close to you gets hurt, would you sit and watch or you're gonna act like a man(just phrase woman can do the same brave thing :) )
Donnie Darko (2001)
Amazing
Its really hard to say something else about this movie except that its just amazing.I watched it recently and just don't know what to say.It affected me so much that i can watch it over again and again and it just won't get boring or something like that. The whole idea of the movie is so philosophic and distracted from the real world and in the same time so easy to see, so easy to feel. The moment when he finally understands what he needs to do its so highly romantic and tragic(I even cried at that moment and I'm not afraid to say it), but after all its a kind of beating your own instinct for survival. But i don't know a person who,in case he had everything friends, family and love would let them fade away. The meaning of the life is in having people you love and care about and you are sure they are OK. Because at the end if your really close person has died or got hurt and only you have the chance to make it all right, would you let this chance go away....?
