Expats (2023)
Oh my GOD
So, I haven't loved this series but have been into it enough that I have been watching the newest episode on the day it comes out. The show is slow, not one character, down to the kid who goes missing is likeable. Nicole Kidman looks disturbing. But good lord wait until you get to episode 5... it is not in English and it's people I don't know why we are following for the entire episode, in rain... and I've just looked and it's apparently 1:40 of this. Subtitles. Mandarin? I don't know, but I'm not interested in having to pay this close attention to a show I can hardly get through. Why are we spending the whole show on these people!?
What Happens Later (2023)
WOW
This was REALLY bad. I'm talking, hallmark movies are better than this bad. First and foremost, no chemistry as many other reviewers said. Back story was weird with way too many layers. Meg Ryan, who had gone into hiding since destroying her face with plastic surgery many years ago is back, trying to be the cute, bubbly, quirky sort of character she always played so well back in the 80s and 90s... except it just reads as a super annoying in this. David DuChovny was just dreadful, I dunno he's never truly done it for me, nothing much happening for him in this role- but I found his hair very distracting. This just dragged on forever with dumb dialogue that seemed to take forever to get to any point and what the hell airport were they in?? Why was it empty and the guy on the speaker which I guess was supposed to be funny was just annoying. The end? Ugh I can't. Just don't I can't believe I wasted $5.99 on this.
Wander Darkly (2020)
Just save yourself the time
And go watch "what dreams may come"-similar concept, better execution. Honestly I had never heard of this movie it just came on late last night and it's not exactly the best movie to watch before bed, unless you want to fall asleep, which I did, BUT had been intrigued enough by it that I just finished the rest of it it tonight. Here's what I think, individually the actors were great, but together they lacked any chemistry so it made it difficult to feel anything for them. Especially her, as well as she acted, her character was not likeable. Even with the way the movie ended, I should've cried, but just couldn't find enough emotional commitment to the story.
The Descent: Part 2 (2009)
Turn off the lights!!
WTAF? One of the scariest aspects for the first movie was the fact that it was totally dark. This movie was full of set lights-and in the first movie, it really feels like a cave, this, was a set, blatantly-with said set lights beaming on it. Such a stupid attempt at a sequel to one of the scariest horror movies of all time. And who sends a traumatized, injured mentally and emotionally unwell woman back into where she just fought to escape from? And how the hell would Juno have survived the end of the first movie? She was totally surrounded by those things. And those thing-when you are shining a bright light on them, they lose their mystery and creepiness. They're just actors in suits. What a stupid movie all around. And don't get me started on that last scene.
Fatal Attraction (2023)
Insulting
An insult to the movie, an insult to the actors, an insult to the audience! This deserved a different name because the only similar elements to the movie are the character's names-the rest is nothing like the movie. There's no suspense, it's not sexy, there's no chemistry, there's bad wigs and heavy makeup-the actress who played Alex isn't scary and isn't sexy. There's way too many episodes and it's just repetitive and boring. There's too many characters, the "twist " was stupid and underwhelming. Everyone who participated in this should be embarrassed and owe an apology to Glenn Close, Michael Douglas and Adrian Lynne!!
Scream VI (2023)
Wes Craven is rolling over in his grave
These movies are an insult to the original. Frankly these should've stopped at the original, because it was unique and sharp (no pun intended). Repeating the same exact storyline through different generations isn't. Bad writing, bad acting, bad characters, bad gore. These movies are actually boring. I fell asleep, lost interest the second time I tried to watch it and just had it on in the background of scrolling in my phone. That in itself tells you how "scary" it is. The amount of times people can get stabbed in this and live is absurd. It's just garbage. It's unnecessary. Also if they are going to continue doing this, please find different characters for the heroine role, she and that little Ortega girl are kind of the worst. You just can't beat the original.
Till Death (2021)
Surprisingly not total crap
No offense to the beautiful Ms. Fox, but she's not exactly had the most high quality movie career...but she was very good in this! And there are many nail biting moments, which is rare for any made for Netflix movie, let's be honest. Really the only part that's a bit ridiculous is her super human strength. Otherwise it was a fun revenge thriller!
The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson (2019)
Trash
Who the hell casted this??? A blind person? Also, did these people forget how to act once they were cast in these roles? The only person who looked remotely like the person they were playing was Kris Jenner.
And then there's the convoluted storyline that I've personally never heard about.
85 minutes of my life I will never get back.
Centigrade (2020)
Snoozefest
That's what this is.
Would've liked to see them before this, how it happened, etc. Starting it at the "climax" of the movie left it nowhere to go but down. I'm giving it three stars for "ok" acting, for those parts I actually watched and wasn't so bored I got distracted by my phone. Also, we get it, the baby is upset but I don't watch movies to listen to a baby cry in every single scene with said baby. Rough story though!
Frozen (2010)
Thanks for the laughs
Even if I wasn't stranded on a ski lift, in the dead of winter if you are outside more than ten minutes you ZIP YOUR COAT UP THE WHOLE WAY! Put your ungloved hand in your pocket you moron. That drove me the craziest the whole time. Secondly, she had a lighter in her pocket the whole time...just wanted to point that out, in case anyone wanted to be warm for a minute. The horrible leg breaking scene...and I don't mean horrible like it looked painful I mean horrible like it looked fake AF. Especially once he was sitting in the snow. And lastly...the wolves. So, let's get this straight, there's ravenous packs of wolves that live on a busy ski mountain (oh wait it's only open on weekends, damn they must make a lot of money) so the wolves must then know when it's Sunday and they are allowed to come out and attack people. Because, you know that is such a frequent behavior.
