Music Box (1989)
Superb and "rivoting" just like the cover promised
I just finished watching this with my wife. The gut-wrenching detail is a slow-cooker of agony that is rivoting to experience. Not with special effects, but a mental crucible. Tugs on your ability to separate yourself completely from the story line. Excellent movie I highly recommend. We were very impressed. Sobering adult fair. Not for casual viewing. Lange is fabulous and thoroughly convincing.
There's No Business Like Show Business (1954)
Heart-warming fabulous entertainment
Heart-warming family fare with fabulous music and happy ending all complete.
Caring talented parents and their woes "don't worry" says the doc, "yeah, right," says Mom Merman "that's a LAUGH. Ya worry the moment they're born. Even after ya die I'll bet ya still worry about 'em."
When the overture first hits, you know you're in for a musical treat. The heart-felt storyline only adds to the enjoyment. A MUST SEE if you want a feast for eyes, ears and heart.
The Testaments: Of One Fold and One Shepherd (2000)
Spiritually uplifting & inspiring. Superb portrayal of Christ.
This superb portrayal of Christ clearly sets Him on His throne for all the viewers to see. Several scenes suddenly take you inside a masterpiece of art (you think to yourself, I've seen this shot before!) posed as if a famous still-life of the Savior was expanded into a moving picture.
The Book of Mormon has intrigue, violence, deception, murder as well as repentance, patience and love. This film includes each of these elements, ending in the overwhelming message, that Christ is above all of it and God, our Heavenly Father sent Him as a gift "not. . . to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved" Amen and amen!
To Sir, with Love (1967)
Heart warming - jerks a happy tear. Must See. Ageless
Heart warming : full of compassion and good communication that cuts through despair and complacency. Jerks a happy tear. Stunning musical interpretation by Lulu of a clever tune with even more clever lyrics. Despite the 1966 date, the emotion is ageless in reaching out. A MUST SEE for everyone's movie favorite list.
Orfeu Negro (1959)
Must See. Fabulous music, acting and story line.
This cultural slice gives you the full platter for the bitter-sweet romance. A tender tear-jerker in a class of its own. Outstanding music and scenery, and genuine portrayals make for a riveting movie experience. This one is on my "best kept secrets" list of favorites which I coax company into watching when we can "do a flick" at home with them.
