Die Nacht, in der ganz ehrlich überhaupt niemand Sex hatte (2002)
Really funny German movie
For those who are wondering what the title means ..."Die Nacht, in der ganz ehrlich überhaupt niemand Sex hatte" means "the night in which very honestly nobody had sex at all".
First of all, let me mention that German is not my mother tongue and I rate myself as medium on my German language fluency.
Having said that, since this is comedy movie, I didn't expect much that I would be able to enjoy the movie due to my somewhat limited German language fluency (there was no subtitle in English!).
Turned out I was wrong. Even though I only understood perhaps 70-80% of the dialogue in the movie, I could not stop laughing while watching the movie. The movie is so funny.
The story line is surprisingly simple but the execution is fantastic!
Hwan Hon (2022)
"All in one" great series
I have just finished watching the part 2. It has been very long time since last time I reviewed movie or series and I feel compelled to give my review.
The series is amazing. You get action, fantasy, love, drama, humor, romance, plot twist, interesting characters, comedy, wisdom, and story line - all in one.
The first episode of part 1 is really cool. I love the actions and to me it was promising so I decided to continue watching. I was right, the part 1 overall is amazing. What I was worried is how they will continue to part 2 given the ending of part 1.
My worry is well addressed in part 2. Even though in the beginning of part 2 I was a bit skeptical in how they spin the story, it turned out that the part 2 delivered the best out of what part 1 has built.
Overall, I give 10 because the series is "all in one":
- Action: great fighting scenes, supported by good CGI.
- Fantasy: great setting of a land with families of mages, kingdom, mystical relic.
- Character: interesting characters with complex relationships between them.
- Love/romance: deep underlying love expressed through little seemingly insignificant things making it a touching love story.
- Plot twist: many plot twist moments throughout the series. I lost count already how many times I thought "it is over" but then "it is not over".
- Humor/comedy: right amount of humor/comedy. The humor is delivered so naturally through conversations. It made me smile and laugh.
Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)
Good Transformers Movie
My review contains spoiler so if you don't want to be spoiled stop reading right here.
I have just watched this movie and I enjoyed it very much. It feels so Transformers. If you like previous Transformers movies, you will like this one.
What I like: - Lockdown looks cool even though while watching the movie I was puzzled what this robot is after because in the beginning of the movie it is quite clear he is neither Autobot nor Decepticon. - I like how Megatron plots on top of humans' plots. Joyce feels like he is in control while he was doing exactly what Megatron wants. Simply put, the reborn of Megatron in the form of Galvatron is awesome! - The special effect is top notch (as it has always been since the first Transformers movie), however it seems like nowadays our expectations are already high so it is considered "expected". - The overall storyline is great. There is main plot complemented by a lot of sub-plots. - The overall character development is great. Joshua is the one I like most: from being the creator of Galvatron to being target of Galvatron. - I like how Optimus Prime almost gave up on defending humans after being betrayed again and again. Yet, he is an honorable Prime who will always fight for justice. - Dinosaurus Robots are awesome. Hope to see more actions from them in the next Transformers movie.
What I don't like: - Cade, Shane, and Tessa character development is so predictable. I also don't see chemistry between Shane and Tessa. - During the battle between Galvatron's army with Autobots, I was expecting to see some significant damage on Autobots side especially because the newly created Decepticon robots were depicted as more advanced in the beginning of the movie. Yet, no significant damage on Autobot side. - Somehow I hate that Lockdown has to die in the movie. - Spaceship sucking metals scene is annoying - Galvatron should have been given more actions like for examples tearing part's one or two Autobots.
Overall I give score 8 out of 10 as I enjoyed the movie very much :)
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)
Absolutely boring and flat
I watched the movie last night and it was absolutely boring and flat. There is a lot of unnecessary dialogs. Most of the scenes could have been made much shorter. The fighting scenes are not cool either.
After the first 30 minutes of the movie, I knew it was going to be awful movie. And I was right. People sitting next to me were sleeping in the cinema after 1 hour and woke up near the end of the movie. What makes thing worse is the movie lasted almost 3 hours!
The only good thing in the movie is the picture. I read it somewhere that it used 48 fps. So the picture looks pretty good. But at the end, the technology won't help boring and flat movie.
This is the worst movie I watched in 2012!
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012)
Truly epic finale!
Breaking Dawn Part 2 is the best in the Twilight Saga series. Below is my personal list sorted from the best: (1) Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2) Eclipse (3) Twilight (4) New Moon (5) Breaking Dawn Part 1
Some remarkable things from my observation (spoiler alert!!! stop reading here if you don't want spoiler!):
- Great fighting scenes. Final fight against the Volturi is simply cool. There is tension development before the fight until the very end of the fight. The fight scenes themselves could have been better as not all vampire's special powers have been used in the battle for example Benjamin should have utilized more his power to control elements, Alec should have attacked from long distance to deprive the senses of the Cullen's & allies, there should have been Felix vs Emmet. In other words, it would be perfect to see some strategies being deployed to win the battle (not just "randomly" attacking the opponents).
- Epic Finale! Why epic finale? In the movie, the audiences are given fighting scenes and this is a must for action lovers (without this, I myself would have been disappointed). On the other hand, we also want to see happy ending. It is not happy ending to see Jasper died, Carlisle died, etc. And that is why they don't actually die :) ...This is truly the beauty of the ending but I know for sure that some people cannot see it that way (according to them, had the fight scenes been real it would have been perfect!).
- Great plot development. Starting from Bella being a new vampire (learning to control herself from human blood, being the strongest in the house, learning to pretend to be human, etc). And then it continues to develop as Reneesme is reported as immortal child. The cullen's try to gather witnesses from other vampire clans and along the way the practice their special powers for the battle.
- Vampire Bella looks beautiful in this movie. Last but not least, vampire Kate is awesome!
I am planning to buy the DVD so that I can watch the movie again and again :)
