Jeopardy (2002–2005)
Best show on TV?
2 September 2004
Yes, it probably is. I have watched the program for episode one back from the first series. The program is fantastic, the acting is great and the stories are excellent.

A group of teenagers from Scotland are part of a UFO club, headed by their teacher Mr. Simmons. As a trip for the club they go to the Australian outback, a place known for numerous UFO sightings and encounters. Strange things happen where the group arrive, the radio stops working and gives out static and various other things. Is their something out there, watching their every move? The group all film everything on DV cameras, so think Blair Witch Project meets Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

The first series was fantastic, great twists, and I thought this make quite a few scary moments, I must admit. I was disappointed by the tacky end. The second series was terrible. It was too confusing, some good ideas, but too many, so it tried to deal with all the points, making it confusing. Now the third series is a magnificent return to form, adding an Agatha Christie-esque plot, of having the group disappear one-by-one-by-one. With an excellent ending to top it off.

I really hope they bring it out on DVD or something, I'd love to watch it all again!!!

John Carpenter: King of Horror
12 March 2004
John Carpenter once again proves that he is the King of Horror with Prince of Darkness, an excellent blend of science, religon, psychotic tramps, werid mirrors and claustropobic atmosphere.

A preist dies leaving behind a strange diary and a key. Father Loomis (Donald Plesence) takes these and opens an abondened church worshipped by shiczo tramps. The Father then contacts Professer Birac, who gets togetther some student to study the mysterious canister in the church. The canister contains a swirling, green liquid. Next to this, is a ledger which takes of the waker of the sleeper in the canister. The Prince of Darkness, Satan. But slowly it awakes and uses the students to find a host for the liquid. But if Satan is Prince, where is the King?........

A very cleverly atmospheric movie, which it gets full marks for. Excellent story, excellent directing, excellent music, excellent tension, shame about the acting.

***** 5/5
