The Vast of Night (2019)
Boring and extremely overrated.
They could've just copied "signs" and it would've turned out a much better movie. If you take any alien story, they always have a goal, whether it's ET or Super 8 trying to go home, "the arrival" where they gotta a message to us or even "signs", where they want to eat us, Aliens in "the vast of the night" are simply pointless. Really, it's possibly one of the worst movies I've seen this year.
Cidade Invisível (2021)
Offensive to Brazilian folklore
The first episode of this show is ok, the dialogues are very poor, though, I mean, people with very poor education talk like doctors, the writers apparently have no idea how does a poor person talks in Brazil, but the first episode is ok, good dynamics, interesting plot, visually well-filmed. The problem is the second episode and on which are laughable, besides the plot being so full of flaws, it becomes a Brazilian version of "American gods", they should definitely have named it "Brazilian gods", really, Tutu, who has African origins, becomes an Irish man like Mad Sweeney in AG and in actions too, as Cuca becomes Wednesday and the detective, Shadow Moon. Apparently, everything is simply just designed to please American and European audiences, even the songs are adapted to their taste, however destructive it can be to Brazilian folklore. Awful.
Raised by Wolves: The Beginning (2020)
Nice ending.
Very compelling series with a pleasant ending. For those who didn't like or didn't understand it, I highly recommend that you see some videos explaining the season finale, I'd also recommend that you study a little about gravity and its force that might vary on different planets which may cause animals to crawl on the planet. One thing that I did like was when mother was becoming a believer in labour, but then science simply showed up, destroying her brand new beliefs. Awesome.
Monsterland (2020)
Good first episode and only.
I watched the first episode and I thought it was good, compelling, so I decided to watch episodes 2 and 3, and oh my! Simply horrible, full of cheap symbolism, it was like they were by film school students as their first project. What a waste of time. Not watching anymore.
Uncut Gems (2019)
Just Sandler
Great performance by Sandler, bad movie, though. It really fails at writing and editing, lots of conflicts in a loop that turn out to be annoying.
It Follows (2014)
Boring and pointless
With a poor script, the movie simply doesn't know where to go, it really doesn't deserve any further comments, besides what a waste of time.
Into the Night (2020)
What a waste of time!
Unfortunately, I had to watch it, and I came to the conclusion that's one of the worst series out there. The episodes seem to be written by teenagers on a school project, the plot holes are ridiculous, and so are the characters who are at times good, at other times bad, they are like a group of bipolar people under treatment. The only good thing about it: it's short. Really, it's like the people who made "skyline" decided to make a series.
La nuit a dévoré le monde (2018)
Good premise, but...
Idiotic and boring. Really, it is a zombie film, however they want to go into an existential crisis. The flick is just 90min, but it does feel a two-hour film. It is indeed disappointing, especially because it has a nice beginning, but that's it.
1917 (2019)
Disappointing film
Beautiful settings, and that's it. Extremely poor plot and characters. It is really disappointing, most of the time it seems a war videogame with its short quests. Awful!
Black Summer (2019)
Really disappointing
Just watched first episode, although it's well-filmed, it really let me down, when I first heard of this series I thought they would get fear the walking dead's first see season and turn it into something good, instead they did more of the same, "run, zombies are killing". What a turn off.
Zoo (2015)
Good season 1 and that's it.
Season 1 is good and catchy, the plot is well developed, sorta surprised me. Season 2 is fine till they kill Chloe, then the series simply ends, really, I believe they tried to "surprise the audience" and increase the ratings, but no, they got lost after that. Finally there is season 3 that I'm currently watching and is pure rubbish, seriously, I want to believe that the people who wrote season 1 aren't the same, because the writing in season 3 is just laughable, sharknado level.
The Monster (2016)
Interesting family issue with a monster.
The story between the mother and the daughter is really good, sorta surprising actually, both of them do a nice job. Although there are some scary moments, when the monster shows up the movie goes down hill. The ending was a little disappointing especially because my expectations went high due to the mother\daughter story that surprised me, thus I was expecting them to keep up that good story to the end.
Devil in the Dark (2017)
The good thing is
The only good thing about this movie is that it's short.
