Pay attention!

Huge fan of The Wire and it's cast I've been looking forward to this. It's obviously not connected to TW but looks like it is.

Loads going on in this first episode and I'll need to rewatch it before E02 but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hersl looks like the stereotypical bad cop which we will no doubt see much more of.

I'm a big fan of LOD, the cast has up until now been mostly great. Casting Kelly McDonald for this part where she plays the lead as she's the DCI running a Murderer operation was a HUGE MISTAKE. She is awful. She says her lines like she's on day one at drama school. Overuse of police speak acronyms also make what is usually a realistic and believable show, the opposite. I really hope this season picks up quickly. Not nearly enough screen time for the start of all fiver series f this show - Ted Hastings.

Power Book II: Ghost (2020–2024)

Bad acting, worse storylines

How did this get the go ahead?! Tariq was easily the worst character and poorest actor in Power. Now he's the main star of this sequel?! Naturi Naughton as Tasha appears to have forgotten how to act - she's THAT bad. Who told Mary J Blige she could act?! She's awful. Please bin this show.

First of all, John Cena was. A bad choice for the support act in this two man movie(actually just a one man movie and a voice) but it does not take away form the thriller that it is.

Really enjoyed this movie and the suspense between the sniper, where is he, is he moving, is he bluffing... Watch right until the end.

Da 5 Bloods (2020)

So, so bad

The cast caught my eye, the plot sounded good and the trailer looked ace. That's where the enjoyment ended. The writing in this movie is horrible. Ok o get the flashback scenes but what really confused me was why didn't they cast younger versions of the Bloods? I didn't even realise the first flashback was that at first. The shootouts are just awful. The script is poor and the movie was about 1hr too long. 2hr 35minutes I'll never get back.

I'll stick to remembering Clarke Peters as Lester Freeman in The Wire.

Gangs of London (2020– )

TV Perfection

This show depicts the multi component of gang franchise in London perfectly. Ultra violence, family loyalties, foreign psychopaths and incredibly well executed fight scenes. Only gripe I have is Joe Cole is lead actor. He just isn't strong enough and his attempt at a smouldering state can get cringeworthy (think Blue Steel Zoolander). This doesn't change how amazing this show is. Episode 5, while not showing the main players much, is one of the best episodes of any TV show of all time. This is must watch Tv and I'll definitely be replaying it all....

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)

Pointless

Breaking Bad was awesome - that is the general concensus. Was this movie needed? Absolutely not. Not only was it such a long time after Bb concluded on our TVs and most of us had forgotten what exactly happened and who was still breathing. This was just a lot of Jesse looking about with tears in his eyes and people appearing making us think what did they do again and who the hell are they?! Aaron Paul is a decent actor and this review isn't a slate on him I just don't think this movie was necessary.

The Intent (2016)

Simply Awful

This movie tries to cope Top Boy and fails miserably. Maybe one or two of the cast can act but the rest simply cannot. The script is terrible. From the Detective Sergeant's overuse of swear words that don't suit her character to the long pauses in dialogue in certain scenes. I watched this movie to the end hoping it would come good, it did not. It got worse and the ending was predictable and simply very poor. The UC cop is as unconvincing as a gangster as he is a cop.

Hereditary (2018)

Dire movie.

Let's try make a complicated horror - was probably the plan. The result - not a horror anyway and if you have to resort to IMDB to work out what the hell you just watched then you've watched a movie that failed. This movie fails on all fronts. How it got a high rating is beyond me. Don't waste your time.

Just watch it! Clever movie and yeah it's slow but do all movies need to be fast paced. Some great acting by MM. Weird concept but worth a watch.
