The Man from Snowy River (1982)
Favorite Aussie Western
I won't give any details of this movie, but it is one of my favorites since I was a small kid. When I first saw (Age 6), i loved it for the horses. Later (Age 10), I knew the plot well enough to enjoy that. Hormones kicked in, and I understood the romance aspect. Now (age 22), I still enjoy the movie for all of its elements. True love in all its innocence, great horsemanship, chivalry western style, fun action, beautiful scenery/music, and a sweet ending. This movie has them all. I recommend this movie to everyone, great for families.
Side note: Nearly 15 years after I first watched this movie, I finally realized what Curly said that caused the fight between Jim and Curly in the bunk. Even after all the Tarantino films I have seen, I was still shocked by its "innuendo."
Los nuevos extraterrestres (1983)
Like Hell, More Food...;)
Dudes,
Where to begin? An over stuffed bear with an ... ELEPHANT TRUNK???? This movie is hysterical...
I first saw this with a college mate in the world's smallest college in the world's smallest town in the world's worst cowpasture...(those who know where I am talking about...an all girls school...;) We watched MANY MST3K flicks...MANY...because there was nothing else to do.
Anyway, my fav part has to be:
"It's a Leather-Mug maker from the Renassance Festival...HUZZAH!!"
"Chief. MacLeod."
"What is it about the gates of hell that compells people to wandered into them?"
"Norm Abram is being attacked by a giant chicken!!!"
The unforgettable:
"It looks like a potato. Winged potatos. This potato has big ears. It's a whole buffet...etc... (close enough to the real thing...)
Oh, the hell with it...the whole thing is my favorite...
I hope that BAD directors will continue making BAD movies for all eternity so that Jessie, Liz, Me, and everyone else can continue to laugh!!!!
PS: Watch MST3K - I Accuse My Parents, Cave Dwellers, and Mitchell besides many others!!! "Live Long, and Laugh."
Christie Malry's Own Double-Entry (2000)
wicked
This movie is one of the best. If it ever gets released on video, it possibly could be the film that helps Nick Moran get past Lock, Stock. What I mean is, perhaps everyone will stop refering to him as "That Guy From Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels." Lock stock was a great film but it was four years ago...time to progress PEOPLE! Anyway, Christie Malry is a good film that everyone should see.
