Malenkie tragedii (1980)
More a theater play then a movie, "Little tragedies" is definitely a masterpiece of the Soviet cinematography.

The movie is more a set of little theater plays than a film. Nevertheless, it definitely is a masterpiece of the Russian cinematography. Based on poetry of Alexander Pushkin, one of the greatest Russian poets, it strikes both with impressive lyrics and outstanding performance of Vladimir Vysotsky, Innokenti Smoktunovsky, and other great Russian actors.
Among the "Small Tragedies" you will find such well-known stories as "Mozart and Saglieri" and "Don Juan".
