Nobody's Fool (1986)
A decent movie filmed in my home town
This is one of the better movies made in my hometown of Prescott, Arizona. It was made my senior year of high school and one of my class mates had a part as an extra in it. Back in the eighties there were not many hispanics or blacks in Prescott so the lack of people of color was accurate for the time, it was very white for a long time. Also, there really were quite a few people who wore western style clothing. I am not a romantic comedy fan so I watched this movie only because it was made in my town. I actually enjoyed it even though there was no body count, I prefer horror movies. I was surprised how good this was after seeing the bad movies made locally at the time.
Survival Island (2002)
Juicy low budget entertainment
I was pleasantly surprized by this cheap monster movie. There were several juicy kills and a cool CG monster. If you don't expect a lot you will enjoy it. Its a better than most of the low budget movies I have been watching lately.
Sanitarium (2001)
Diagnosis: terminally lame
This boring british video is long on talk and is really hard to figure out. It has something to do with experiments on mentally ill people and a drug that opens the mind to parasites from another dimension( I think). There are some bloody scenes that liven it up a bit but this movie is so slow and disjointed they don't help. Maybe a bigger budget and script rewrite would have helped.
Manhattan Baby (1982)
What happened.
This is Fulci's worst movie. It was so boring I fell asleep and hardly remember anything. I do remember the girl's eyes turning white and vaguely remember the fake birds attacking a guy. Don't remember anything else. Watch The Gates of Hell instead.
No Tomorrow (2002)
No Tomorrow, No Gore
When I saw the video box in the store I thought this would be a cheap gore filled no-budget movie. Well, it was cheap and no-budget. Most of the movie is a lot of talk and high school angst. Nothing happens until the end, I think because they couldn't afford many special effects. The acting is pretty good for something from Dead Alive Productions. I recommend waiting for it to rent for a dollar.
Violent Shit III: Infantry of Doom (1999)
Violent Shit indeed
I couldn't believe I spent $14.00 on this. The only redeeming quality is the outrageous gore. The dubbing was worse than any I have ever experienced. It looks like it was shot with a VHS camcorder. I think every pfennig was spent on the special effects because there was a whole lot of blood and body parts everywhere. Its one of the worst movies I have ever seen but I do have to acknowledge the plentiful gore that wasn't as disgusting as it could have been because the whole movie is so silly and unbelievable
Death Factory (2002)
no budget but still entertaining
For an ultra-low budget flick, I was impressed. The pacing was good and the boring dialog was kept to a minimum. The effects are cheap but bloody. The producers were just looking to make a splatter movie and they succeeded with what little they had. Its worth a rental.
Legion of the Dead (2001)
great title, thats all
I rented this DVD expecting an action packed gorefest. What I got was a low budget, talky horror movie that reminded me of something Charles Band might produce. What little blood there is looks professional but all the good kills happen off screen. Overall this is a let down.
Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma (1975)
unbelievable
This has to be the most disgusting movie ever made, and I have seen a lot of movies! Even though it is extremely gross it is a fascinating movie. I have seen several Pasolini films and he had a talent for making the revolting artistic. But be warned, it is not for those with a weak stomach.
The Tailor of Panama (2001)
Boring Spy movie
I watched this movie with my mom. We turned it off after about an hour, this is such a boring movie, no action, no suspense. We lost interest really quick, I think this is Pierce Brosnan's worst movie, a waste of $3.50
