Bob Marley: One Love (2024)
its ok
I'm a big bob marley fan so I was excited to see this movie, but found it a little disappointing. It was ok, a bit more about the younger bob marley would have been good but they chose to focus on a particular time of his life which is fair enough. It really needed subtitles for some of it as you would expect with any movie featuring a strong accent that's not US or England. I got it but my dad went to the cinema with me and he did not understand the strong accent but enjoyed the music . So while it was entertaining, it was also a bit frustrating. For such an important man, he deserved a better movie.
Mercy Falls (2023)
A magnificent Scottish movie!
I've been looking for Scottish movies set in the highlands, and stumbled upon this gem. Quite a recent one (2023!) I did not recognise any of the actors, but all really impressed me. The three females were simply outstanding, and the 3 males were also excellent although kind of in the shadow of the lovely girls.
The patter was really good, and it was entertaining from the beginning right until the end. Absolutely superb. Some foreigners may struggle with the accents, but due to the great story and acting, I doubt that would prevent anyone from enjoying such a superb movie. This would have been great to watch in the cinema, but also great to watch on Amazon prime, with a nice bag of microwave popcorn. Enjoy!
When Darkness Falls (2022)
Entertaining
The movie starts off quite interesting, a couple of foreign tourists are travelling through the highlands, while a couple of wrong uns are looking for victims. It's not long before they meet and you expect you know what's going to happen. It doesn't though. Things get a bit mad and it is quite funny at times, enough to keep the viewer entertained. Some of the twists are so crazy you can't help but laugh, but the actors are not bad to be honest, all of them have potential especially the Scottish guy. Some of the scenes could have been better but it is what it is and as it's quite memorable, I would recommend it.
