Wanted to love it...

While I thought the film had a very new and unique style about it that I enjoyed, and many funny moments sprinkled in and out (the scene at the Brazilian restaurant had me laughing in tears), parts of the main story line were hard to get behind.

Rudy's relationship with Isabella just seemed to have so many holes in it. In a way it almost seemed as if her character was more of a figment of his imagination than one of actual reality. It was hard for me to understand the dynamic between these two characters or how their relationship with one and other even started.

As for how the movie ended it was one of those upsetting endings that never fully closed off the story. Also the person that Rudy became seemed so far fetched for me to really buy into that sort of narrative

Overall I think there were too many conflicting elements to the story for it to be something great. I'm happy to have watched this for the new and interesting visuals, catchy beats and laughable moments, though without the backbone of a unified and coherent story, it started to feel like watching this movie was just a waste of time.

The Brothers Sun (2024)

The Brothers Fun!!

Do you like luxury vehicles, fancy California homes, deeply troubled family drama? What about churros or even the Great British Bake Off? If any of these things tickle your fancy then The Brothers Sun is definitely for you.

Overall I gave the rating for this show an 8. Was it enjoyable, absolutely. Was it at times overly predictable, unfortunately yes. Would I find my self wanting to watch this again, probably not. Would I be excited for a season 2 announcement, you bet!

What I enjoyed the most was that the main character Bruce provides the show with a unique sense of comedic relief I have not seen in many characters as of recent. Getting to see his character portrayed again would make me smile. I also thought the character development in Charles was done nicely. Visuals weren't to bad themselves either, with plenty of action packed, well choreographed, fight scenes.

Orange (2016)

Most important show I've ever watched.

This is a show that everyone could benefit from watching. It covers some very heavy topics around mental health and relationships so please take into account your own mental state before choosing to start the show. With that being said, I am a different person having watched this and I truly wish I could've watched it sooner. The show is only 13 episodes in length but I was easily sobbing at the ending of over half of the episodes. Seeing how each of the main characters navigated their own personal lives and distinct personalities to comfort a friend will stick with me. Someone else on this site mentioned a quote from the show about how sometimes we can see those around us as being fragile or that we may break them. What this show has taught me is that no matter how fragile we may think them to be, just hug them and show them that their life matters.

I can honestly see myself rewatching this show once a year for the rest of my life as a testament and reminder for the person that I want to be and how noticing the little things can in-fact save a persons life.

Please watch this show, you won't regret it.

Alice in Borderland (2020– )

I cannot remember the last time that a television series has legitimately made me cry as a man. I thought season 1 was so original and amazing but season 2 made me feel emotions that I have not felt in a very long time.

The characters are so well written, the writers constantly find ways to even make you feel for the villains. Season 2 episode 7 had me shocked and nervous sweating. Season 2 episode 8 is where I started to cry.

Hands down in my top 5 tv shows of all time. If you have never seen any manga/anime adaptations this would be a great place to start! I hope you enjoyed just as much as I did.

The entire time I was watching felt like I was in a game of hearts!

While season 2 ended perfectly I would be happy if this were the series finale thought I am still extremely excited for what season 3 will have in store!
