Gorgo vs. Godzilla (1969)
HEY JOHN CARPENTER, WHERE IS THIS MOVIE??!?
John, if you're reading this, you are a Legend in the movie industry(yeah, like you didn't already know lol!). Everything you've EVER done on film, no matter HOW ridiculous or embarrassing it may appear to you, is inspiring to all the people out their striving to make their dreams of following in your footsteps a reality. We all know you didn't start out with "Halloween" the first day you picked up a camera. If people could see your early material(like "Gorgo vs. Godzilla"-does this even EXIST?!?!), it would help them to understand that humble beginnings, coupled with intense love for storytelling on film, can evolve into greatness!
I giganti della Tessaglia (1960)
As good as any Italian sword-&-sandal flick you'll find
This movie is actually pretty decent, if you like the old ancient mythical -type "sword-and-sandal" movies. If you're familiar with them at all, you'll know the routine: swordfighting; some boring conversation that you can't possibly give a rat's _ss about; more swordfighting; weird monsters that mangle a few guys, then are slain by the hero of the story, who looks like he's the black market poster child for steroids; MORE inane, boring conversation; then usually at the end some really evil guy that did nothing but stand around and talk during the entire movie gets whacked. THE END. And, when reminiscing about the movie, all you will remember is: MAN that guy made Arnie in "Hercules of New York" look like someone who needs sand kicked in his face! But it does have a very slight entertainment value for the really cool cyclops battle(especially the final spearshot lol!). If you like the old Italian strongman flicks dubbed in english it's a pretty decent flick, if not, you're wasting your time, unless you're an insomniac and don't like to take pills.
Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies (1999)
This is a really cool flick, destined to become a classic!
I'm sorry but I beg to differ with the guy who didn't like this movie, I have no clue what the guy expected to see! This movie beats the pants off the first one in action, story, and just about anything else about it, in my opinion(although the 3rd one was WAY too cheesy, and it doesn't have Andrew Divoff, alas...). I LOVE Andrew Divoff as the Djinn, he's like the new Freddy Krueger. It's interesting(yeah I know, in a SICK sort of way) to watch how he tricks people into giving up their souls for a wish, kinda like you knew Freddy was going to waste someone but it was always different, and usually with an ironic twist. This movie went straight to video so you shouldn't expect much, but hey I would've gladly paid to see this instead of most of the other movies I've paid to see in the past year or so(except LOTR's!!).
