WrestleMania X8 (2002)
my 1st wrestlemanai attended!! (spoiler)
it was great being at a wrestlemania but this wasn't even close to being the best one ever. RVD-Regal wasn't a good match because of their styles and everyone knew RVD was going over anyway. DDP against Christian was average. Maven blew his spots and at least the Hardcore vignettes were funny. Kane and Angle had a chance to be the best match but they blew the finish! Undertaker and Ric Flair put on a hell of a match, I think it exceeded everyone's expectations. And Arn Anderson giving Taker a spinebuster was one of the best moments of the night. Edge-Booker could have been so much better than it was. It was so disappointing to see Scott Hall get squashed by Austin. The tag match was good because they got The APA out right away and the right team went over in the end. Hogan and Rock was the match of the night, it was unbelievable being in the building and hearing the response for Hogan. And again, the right man went over and Hogan should be congratulated for his performance. The woman's match was forgettable, but at least Jazz won. HHH-Jericho shouldn't have been the main event it wasn't even that good and everyone knew HHH was going over. The worst thing about the night was those talentless bums that were screaming into a microphone all night, they call that music. It drove me insane, please WWF give up these trailer park trash rock groups they just annoy everyone.
Royal Rumble (1993)
Good event (spoiler)
Highlights: Steiners and Beverlys had a decent opener, Steiners first PPV in WWF. The IC title match was great, Jannetty returned after a year and Sherri returned after 3 months but Michaels still gets the better of them both. The match : Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect's confrontation was classic especially with Bobby Heenan selling in the booth. The WWF should have used Perfect's performance to built him into a main-eventer. The crowd went nuts for him! Bob Backlund showed he can still go. Nice to see Carlos Calon on a PPV. Yokozuna and Earthquake also had a great standoff, and he was the right choice to go over. Lex Luger should not have been brought in like that. Bigelow's match with Bossman was a squash. Bret Hart and Razor Ramon was forgettable. Giant Gonzalez run in took way
Royal Rumble (1992)
one of the best events ever! (spoiler)
wow, I watched this one live as a kid and my heart was beating. Owen Hart carried the opener to a great match. It was good to see Piper finally get a title. Beverlys and Bushwhackers sucked. LOD and Disasters was not bad but LOD should have gone over. Ric Flair killed it in the Rumble it's the best performance in Rumble history. His confrontations with Piper, Valentine, Bulldog, Hogan and so many others made that match. Savage running around like a maniac looking for Jake Roberts was also great. The ending was done really well upsetting me and I was 9! If Hogan could've made me mad at 9 there must have been a lot of mad people. It's too bad that for whichever reason Sid didn't get the big face push he deseved at the time he would have been over the top. It was an outstanding event
WrestleMania VII (1991)
Too commercialized (spoiler)
This was an average card for wrestling but good for storylines. The best match was Warrior vs Savage it was a career match and even though they didn't follow through it was still great and Savage making up with Elizabeth was a terrific moment. It was mostly about beginnings and ends. The Hart Foundation wrestled their last match. Demolition was at the end of their run. It was the end of the "Macho King". It was the beginning of the LOD's big run and Undertaker's first Wrestlemania. It was also Davey Boy Smith's 1st Wrestlemaia as a singles wrestler. A highlight was the 3 year blowoff match between Virgil and Diabiase, it was really well done. A lot of people will diss the blindfold match but Martel had me on the floor laughing when I saw it. All the American flags and Sgt. Slaughter fighting for Iraq, that just cheapened the event and the outcome was never in doubt.
WrestleMania IX (1993)
A solid wrestlemania until the ending (spoiler)
This was an alright Wrestlemania it had an outdoor setting and a different atmosphere. The good: Tatanka vs Shawn Michaels, this was a great way to start the card and the crowd was into it sherri and luna didn't take away from the match they added to it, the only thing, it should have been a clean finish. Steiners vs Headshrinkers was another great match, Lex Luger and Mr. Perfect's styles clashed well and they did a good job of setting up the feud between Perfect and Michaels.
Razor Ramon began to emerge as a fan favourite even though he was still a heel (listen to the fans chant his name). The bad: This was another time Bret Hart "got screwed" as Hulk Hogan stole the spotlight from him and he didn't belong anywhere near the main event that night. Undertaker vs Giant Gonzalez was forgettable. Doink vs Crush was memorable for the finish only, but Crush really should have gone over, he could've been big. Money Inc. vs Hogan and Beefcake the match was ok but what happened later
WCW Road Wild (1999)
One of the worst events in WCW history (spoiler)
What a terrible build-up and terrible delivery. The opener was good but it was dragged down by the Posse. Everyone else should have had bigger roles in the PPV. As soon as we knew DDP wasn't in the tag title match we knew the heat were going over. Revolution-Rednecks was forgettable. The Cat against Bagwell was just horrible. Benoit-DDP was good and good for DDP putting Benoit over. Sid actually went over Sting clean, that made the match interesting. Goldberg vs Rick Steiner? c'mon! Savage and Rodman were actually entertaining but Hogan vs Nash was a poor main event and world title match.
WrestleMania VIII (1992)
WWF dropped the ball (spoiler)
They could have done so much better. There were only a few good points about this event. Like it was Undertaker's first big match as a babyface and Jake's last match and it served it's purpose. Piper did a great job putting Bret over. Savage and Flair was a great feud and they had a great match here and after when Elizabeth beats up Flair you'll laugh your head off. Everything else was forgettable but the thing that sticks out is Sid should have definetely gone into the match with Hogan as the face and Hogan the heel because Hogan was selfish it's only logical.
Good for Sid for not laying down to the legdrop and Shango/Warrior was kinda pointless.
