Agnes Cecilia - En sällsam historia (1991)
Scared the crap out of me as a kid.
As a child of 9-10 years old, I had watched quite a lot of the horror films of that time, of course without my parents' knowledge, but you had a friend's older brother who provided you with such things, so had seen films like It, Freddy Krueger, etc. Of course they were scary but I never took them seriously, I understood that it was fantasy and not real. However, this film left a completely different mark and it is made for children? I had so many nightmares because of it. It's more of a drama mystery really so not a horror movie, but it has something very eerie about it. I don't really remember the plot that much, but the feeling of the film has settled deep.
Ett sista race (2023)
The cast must be ashamed for being in this one.
These are actually some of Sweden's best comedians, as well as a couple of Sweden's best acters. The only exception is David Hellenius, who unfortunately has the lead role but has never been either a good actor, script writer or a good comedian, ( David must be Sweden's most overrated person he feels like that kid who really doesn't fit in the football team but whose father sponsors the whole team therefore he gets to be in and also gets the most playing time ) . But everything really just can't be blamed on David Hellenius' poor acting, even if it clearly drags the film down even more. The dialogue in the film does not feel natural, the jokes are not funny, the adventure/action scenes are not exciting, there is 0 racing feeling or sense of speed, there is no structure that makes it exciting or makes you feel annything with any of the characters. A really bad movie, don't let the cast fool you. That it has 5.3 here is a wonder.
Gundala (2019)
Pretty silly and ridiculous
A lot of extremely unrealistic violence ( cartoon violence ), people get bats in the head without getting a scratch and by that I don't mean the one who has supernatural powers, but also those who shouldn't have any, a gang of 20 chooses to attack an opponent one and one and so on, it all feels quite silly but who knows if I had been like 8-9 years old I might have thought it was cool. The storyline is quite silly in itself, this is a shame as there are a few elements there that could have been really good and had some kind of depth in them, but these small moments are thrown away because everything then just becomes silly and stupid., it is also noticeable that they are trying to get several stories from the series into one film, they are not that difficult to follow, but the jumps between them do not feel logical and the film lacks momentum for a build-up, things just kind of happen. The fact that I still give the film a 3 is that the acting efforts are still okay, although not remarkable in any way, there are some small humorous elements that are a little funny, the music is okay, the photography is okay but at the same time not remarkably good either.
Bamse och häxans dotter (2016)
Nice film for especially children between 5-8 years.
I wonder if they redid the voices? Because they weren't something I reacted to as being particularly bad.
I thought the film was good, has a good sense of morality, Krösus is also a good villain. However, I miss the wolf and the wolf cousins? When will we see more of them in the movies? Fun, though, with the two new characters we get to know in the film, a lynx girl and her mother, who can do things not everyone can
The story takes a few twists and turns and it is actually two parallel stories in one and the same film, which are woven together. That raw capitalist is bad is a recurring theme that appears in Bamse. Also that about being different and outside and both of these can be found in the film.
Bamse och vulkanön (2021)
The other Bamse films are better.
The film is by no means bad, but is still probably the worst of all films. Storin is not that interesting and contains no major twists (there is one of course, but it is not enough for it to be that interesting), Bamse is made for children between the ages of maybe 5-8, but they are also usually quite funny even for adults to see, this one was less so. For those who read Bamse as a child, it also felt like reused concepts, they pick a bit from 2-3 old Bamse stories. It feels more like things happen just so the three main characters can get their share of sunlight, not because they are a necessary part of the story. One thing that I also miss from the old Bamse films (the ones from the 70s) is that the narrating voice usually has a much more pronounced role, this made a lot of the story because it was told with such empathy, here it is there but adds almost not the story.
The animations are nice but it is noticeable that they are not made in Sweden (but in Japan I think?). The lip sync is a little off, Skalman probably didn't go to University in the USA (a picture that appears in the film), and the characters lose a bit of their expression that you associate with those characters.
Ahsoka (2023)
So far so good!
I am happy that the series so far (episodes 1 and 2) is really good. I really get the Star Wars feel of the series, the environments are fantastic and there isn't exactly anything that bothers me very much.
But we'll see there have been many Star Wars series that haven't been very good, a series like Kenobi was ruined by the fact that 25% of the scenes were ridiculously bad, they lowered the 75% that were good and Boba Fett we shouldn't just mention . Andor was done well though, so I really hope Ahsoka lasts until the end.
Now if I have to criticize the series for something, Ahsoka is not quite like herself, she is a bit too quiet and not at all very bubbly and happy as she is in the animated series her charm is not quite there, but of course she is older and people can change. Hera isn't very similar visually and her signature voice isn't there, but make up for that because the acting still makes you believe it's her. The dialogue isn't super good either, it's said too little to the point that it doesn't always feel natural, this is just a minor thing though, not at all on the level when the dialogue like in Boba is ridiculously bad.
The plot isn't anything remarkable either, but it works.
It is noticeable that the spent a lot of money , environments, action scenes, etc. Is really good. I liked the dynamic between all the characters in Rebels and I'm glad you get to see them in Ahsoka, particularly Sabine and Cooper are spot on I think.
I really want to continue watching the series and I could sometimes think that Andor became a bit boring in places, but I have not yet experienced that at all with this series. Finally, it seems Disney is on to something really damn good here.
