Juno (2007)
are you about to give birth to a baby at this age? or is it your kid who is going to..?
comedy? no way!this movie is totally drama...the sweet funny sentences (of Juno mostly for sure) were just interspersed for you not to cry all the way to the end of the movie... starts nice ends nicer... it is sad some way...but the thing is that it shows it is possible to come over anything with the ones you love around you.. women to decide to or not to give birth to a baby should watch... it will help them decide...:)either way ... the movie covers the story about a teen ager getting pregnant, her family's attitude towards her and an adoptive family...the tag line should have been "a woman becomes a mother when she gets pregnant, a man becomes a father when he sees his baby".Ellen page! great wonderful awesome excellent performance!impressive acting...wow! good screen shots...reflects the simplicity and complexity of teen-age life and displays the conflict of these with Juno's life...she would be the prettiest mother ever....Juno's situation reveals all the possible choices and every aspect of each choice...giving birth to a baby at the age of 16???? adoption????giving the baby to an adoptive family? and the difficulty in making the decision...even an adult can barely make the right decision...if there is one...it makes you cross-question every approach... interesting...and keeps everything away from emotional exploitation but still very influential.... especially recommended to anyone somehow related to a baby to be born
Big Fish (2003)
tim burton in wonderland:)
A great work from burton.can an overimaginative dad telling stories like fairy tales be boring?the answer seems to be "yes" for the son who is rather more interested in getting to know his "real father" although he is a story writer indeed.
the movie is full of fantastic characters and lives making the truths much more enjoyable then they really are. but all of the stories are composed of metaphors and all of them are for Will(the son)to figure out lessons besides having fun times. As he gets older, the endless stories makes him disappointed which puts a serious distance between him and his father which ends his relationship with his father.
finally, before death of his father during his deadly illness Will returns back and he breaks down the hate wall he built up between himself and his father's stories and the last fantastic story that takes his father away peacefully belongs to Will.
The Secret Life of Words (2005)
displays what we know but ignore
Isabel Coixet undoubtedly possesses a tricky sense of humor (especially lines of the leading actor) and a delicate and sensitive imagination. The dialogs are prepared so smartly and the scenes are acted so lively that it was impossible to watch the movie from the "other side". the brilliant director immediately attracts you in.there are unanswered questions left so that you can make up the answers and participate in the film yourself.the synopsis is interesting and displays the lives or jobs of people far away from our sights and make the audience try to make empathy.it is like knowing that farmers exist somewhere but never ever thinking of what would it be like...to be a farmer...Moreover the film touches pathetic social issues in a very affective way without exaggerating and agitating. The only problem was dubbing...In short it is a film to see...a complete success
Mortel transfert (2001)
Michel experiences the "grande voyage" into himself
loved the details of Beineix... it is enjoyable to catch them(if you are careful enough) and try to solve the puzzle..... it is rather more enjoyable to fail solving the puzzle though. fortunately there still exist some films that may surprise you...even the name of the movie is surprising since the genre of film is comedy and the title includes the word of "mortal" i am looking forward to see other works of Jean Jacques Beineix.... good scenery; good acting; nice musics...includes all in balance.. and the result is a real success..deserves watching once again not to miss anything....the original novel is a focus of curiosity for me....the dialogs are poetic and are one of the most memorable features of the movie...
