Night for Day (2023)
This Is One Of The Best Vampire Horror Films I've seen !!
I was lucky enough to see Night for Day in a special international screening in Rome, Italy this February, 2024. I was amazed at how the acting caliber was first class, as well as the special effects and the cinematography. The story of Vincent, our main character is dealing with a very secret dilemma that forces him to confront his 'true nature'. Without saying too much, I can say that this film really resonated with me. It went beyond the regular gendre tropes, and into the realm of arthouse quality films that inspire a human connection. I highly recommend Night For Day. Also noting the main actor and director as Russ Camarda pulls off this feat that is seldomly done by artists like Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson and Vincent Gallo who are able to both act and direct in a film they made. Highly Worthwhile !
The Girl Who Cannot Speak (2019)
I Saw This Film At NBC MEET THE PRESS FILM FESTIVAL
This was one of the most raw, authentic, and sometimes heartbreaking films I have ever seen. It's very minimalism and allows each women to speak their truth, without over editing, or overtly forcing the audience to feel something. The film is a natural experience. As if you are in the room with each woman sharing her courageous story. I am amazed how a delicate film got made like this. Congratulations to the filmmakers it was the highlight of my AFI experience. Thank you again for making this film. There are many women around the world who are represented in this film, and I loved each one of them.
Stolen Dough (2023)
Saw This Film At DOC LA Film Festival.
I was in the audience for the DOC LA Festival and was amazed at how dark, and moody this film is. The audience was expecting this film to be a parody but in about 5 mins they sure found out this was going to be more rock n roll and personal and dark. I love how the director was able to draw the audience into Anthony Mongiello's personal story. I felt very close to all the characters in the film. An incredible Crime Docudrama, Most Importantly, the music from the film does an excellent job of setting you back in the era of the 1980's and 1990's so you feel transported through that time era. I was very impressed with the filming and the cinematography. I highly recommend this film.
