The Vampire Next Door (2024)

Light hearted horror fun movie

You should not go in this expecting a masterpiece. Its low budget, plot is nothing revolutionary. Camera work is decent, acting is not bad, the main actor Cameron was sorta ok. I think the girls are newish in the acting business, so they do look a little bit off.

Its a story of a girl living next door to him, that happens to be a vampire on a mission. I will not give too much details, but when she does kill the old man that is supposed to be a vampire, you never actually see anything that would make him a vampire. Strange decision by the director.

I did chuckle and laugh few times at the jokes, mostly at his workplace. I did not really see much chemistry between the characters, and the last scene when the blonde was explaining the brunette the past was rushed. Funny thing that only the kiss between the two girls was pretty darn good, its like that is the only chemistry that really stood out. Its like they are dating in real life haha.

Overall a decent horror vampire comedy. Nothing spectacular, but not really that bad.

Baby Girl (III) (2018)

Very bad movie

I could not even force myself to watch the entire thing. The acting is just horrible, none of them seem to know what they are doing. The way the lead smokes just looks freaking ugly. Why cast people who do not smoke, why make it a smoker in the first place, you did not really need that. The plot is horrible, the way the girls meet and start their story is incredibly bad. If nothing else the camera work is somewhat ok, does not look too bad. Any time they have a scene together the freaking cigarettes ruin everything. With every next plot line, it just gets dumber and dumber. The fight with mother is poorly made. After a somewhat decent scene of the fight with mother then switch to her talking about it holding a cigarette like she's disgusted by it. Why have it in the first place? Damn.

Running for Her Life (2016 TV Movie)

Decent TV Movie

As the title says, decent thriller movie, but nothing special.

The acting is good, everyone did their jobs well, and nobody really stood out as bad. Plot is decent, but seen in many similar movies, but its still not boring.

I do think characters are slightly underdeveloped even thought we do get some background. The twists are not really there, you do not get surprised by anything.

Camera work is ok, pacing is little bit slow, direction and editing could do a bit more work, but decent overall. The movie was fairly entertaining.

In the end it did seem like the trainer wanted to seduce the client, and I am not even sure what would happen if the knock at the door did not happen, cause the client, a married woman, just kissed her back. Felt like she did not push her away, and if the knock at the door did not happen, the trainer was going for another kiss, makes me think they might have slept together there.

Carrion (2020)

Not worth the time

The script is terrible, so the actors really could not do much to be honest. Camerawork is pretty bad, with exceptions of very few scenes where camera captures from distance, as soon as its close up, its pretty bad.

The scene where killer attacks and murders one of the women, and then one of the girls escapes is laughable, cutting camera between swings of the hammer/axe. I think only suspense music was good in that scene. Even thought too expressed I think.

Actors did put an effort but they could not do much with what they were given. Have to say that car running over one of the men did look realistic, that is among the very few things that were good.

They did not really explore the friendship between the cousins, and did not even show the sexual tension. I did not really see they are into each other until the scene. They did not look disgusted by the scene like in some other movies, at least they looked somewhat comfortable.
