A great film, well worth watching.

I have to admit, I watched this because I fancy Kate Beckinsale so much, and she has never disappointed in her acting in any film I've watched.

With this film, dont expect an all action Hollywood run of the mill action blockbuster, its more of a thoughtful film with beautiful performances from Brian Cox and Kate Beckinsale, among others.

It will make you think about the characters lives, as well as your own, and is a refreshing change from the average fair from Hollywood.

A beautifully acted, well written, well directed little gem of a film, that is such a refreshing change.

Watch this, you won't be disappointed.

The Days (2023)

An awful disaster, about an awful disaster.

When I saw the trailer, I had high hopes this would be as good as the 'Chernobyl' mini series. Sadly, I was extremely wrong.

I know you have to bear in mind the different culture of Japan to the American HBO series of Chernobyl, but even with that in mind I found the acting and narrative so slow and dull.

I'm on about episode 6 or 7 now, and have found myself constantly drifting off to sleep throughout, but the crazy thing is, when I wake up I have no idea if I've missed 1 minute, 5 minutes, 20 minutes or an entire episode, without feeling I have missed anything at all, and not feeling the need to rewind to a point I remember.

I so wanted to love this but cant. And to all the people saying this shouldn't be compared to 'Chernobyl', you are 100% correct, this should in no way be compared to 'Chernobyl in terms of entertainment, enjoyment and compulsive viewing, both are leaps and bounds apart.

Nurse Jackie (2009–2015)

Great acting and writing resulting in a fantastic show, but.........

I absolutely love this show, there is a little of everything in it, and the acting and writing is top notch. I quite liked the new characters coming in as the seasons progressed, but did notice the stories quality declining.

I am sorry to say that I was left wholly disappointed in the final (7th) series, especially the final episode. To me it felt as if the show needed a more deserving ending. I'm not sure if the writers had changed or if they just didn't have any better ideas for the show to end. Such a shame.

The acting throughout is top notch, and Edie Falco's and Merrit Wever's Emmy awards were so deserved.

Definitely a show to watch, just don't expect to get the ending it (and we) deserved.

Cuckoo (II) (2012– )

Starts off great, gets better then nose dives.

I enjoyed the first series and characters, so when series 2 started with a totally new main character, and a new actress in another main role playing the series 1 character, I was sceptical about carrying on watching.

I did and unlike some other reviewers, I actually preferred it. Although each series became sillier and a bit more ludicrous I continued to watch, but it got to the point where it was just too silly, series 5 peaking the absurdity of it. Andie McDowel's character was just a step too far imo. One of the greatest comedy writers of our time, Ricky Gervais usually limits his creations to 2 or 3 series, there's a reason for that, it's so things don't turn sour and leave a bad taste in the mouth. Unfortunately, Cuckoo's 4th and especially the 5th series has left a bad taste.

I would still recommend watching this, it has some funny moment's, and the first few series are quite original, and Greg Davies is a great comedy actor.

I feel sorry for the actress.

I feel so sorry for the actress as her acting was pretty decent, but everything else about this series was terrible.

For a start the flashbacks are so annoying and seem irrelevant, and there are so many of them. In the first few episodes there's quite a few, and it just gets worse from there, until the 6th and final episode where it seems that 80% of the episode are pointless and boring flashbacks, and you just want to get to the end, so you can say that at least you gave it a full chance, which I seriously struggled to do, and felt wholly unrewarded for by the end. And I won't even mention the dead people talking to her (obviously in her mind), but it was painful to watch.

There are so many flaws in the story, I would be typing this for hours to list them all. One that sticks in my mind is how she dives down to the plane, which must be 20 feet down, retrieves 2 bags and swims back to the surface. When she gets back to shore, she opens the bags to reveal at least one, if not 2 they are full of money. I worked on a cash transit van and one thing I know is that, that amount of money is heavy. There isn't a chance in hell that even a professional male diver could have swam to the surface with that much weight.

As I've said, there are hundreds of flaws in the common sense of this series, but there are even more pointless, boring flashbacks.

The actress was very good, so I feel for her career, being in this debacle.

Review finished, so now I'm going to chill on my sofa and wait for my medal for sitting through 6 episodes of this drivel, to arrive!
