Downfall (2004)

Very impressive and outstanding cast
24 February 2010
When I saw this film, I was very impressed by the role of Bruno Ganz playing Adolf Hitler. I think they're not many people who would like to play one of the most insane dictators of human history. But Bruno Ganz did a great job doing so. He played his role so convincing you might think Hitler was exactly like that. He was not just mad and insane all the time, but also showed human traits so now and then. To the end, the film becomes more and more dramatic and really gives you the feeling you are inside that bunker as an invisible spectator. You're experiencing the last desperate moments of Hitler and his military leaders finally resulting in their suicide. One of the scenes which struck me most, was the one in which Hitler thanked the Hitler-Jugend for their bravery and effort. I recently saw the original footage and it showed great accuracy and similarity with the film. Some believe this film is a tribute to the Nazis or a 'Hitler-glorification' which I myself fully disagree. This film simply shows the facts whether we like it or not but is at the same time very instructive.

Spiders (2000)
4/10
Totally fake
13 January 2008
This movie is so fake. I mean, if this movie was produced in 1975, it would've been a great movie. But with the current (or back in 2000) computer-animated special effects, they could've done it better! Already in the beginning at the part where the space-shuttle exploded, I could clearly see it was fake. Not to mention the spider 'Mother in law' itself... almost hilarious to see. It moved on like it was guided by strings and looked like it was made of plastic. This can be clearly seen in the part where 'mother-in-law' crawls out of the astronaut's body and flees along the walls. The story itself isn't so thrilling either. A spider being injected by an alien DNA in space. God knows where that alien DNA came from. As far as I can tell, it wasn't told in the movie (maybe I fell asleep of boredom). No, next time it appears on television, I'll pass.

Boring movie and bad acting
5 January 2008
One of the most boring movies I've ever seen. Simply a low-budget movie with too much talking and less action. Most actors act poor, not convincing and with fake emotions. The movie is all about a 'high-tech stealth fighter' so I expected to see one. But no, they simply used a conventional Russian plane and didn't make a single change for the movie. In the movie itself they justify it by saying something like 'it's not the shape what matters, but the materials it's made off'. I'm sure they have a good reason to use as much as Russian actors cos after all, the story takes place in Russia. But I'm sorry to say, they're acting is bad, fake and not convincing.
