Wonder Woman (2017)
What a disappointment
So it took me some time to get around watching this movie, but I think I know why now. Somehow the universe was trying to protect me from wasting my time, and I should have listened.
To say that this movie is a disappointment is actually making disappointment look good.
The acting of the "lead" actress is so bad that I wanted to cry. The expected bad "twists and turns" are not just heartbreaking in their platitudes, they are brain breaking. The action scenes are the 2 out of 10.
After watching this, I honestly do not understand how there was another movie made with the same actress, Gal Gadot. I honestly don't.
I went then to watch/explore the original episodes of WW, and I wasn't just crying, I was balling... Wonder Woman deserved better.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Looking forward to the second part!
I don't understand some of the ratings here....
The movie is the first chapter of the story. The filming, the images, the atmosphere-s are all just beautiful. You are transported in a world that does evoke Star Wars, but it's in a way a tribute to the SW universe. The director is not trying to build a new SW, the storyline has its own narrative.
I was looking forward to seeing Sofia Boutella in this role, and she didn't disappoint! She's perfext in it. Her acting is in line with who the character is, the character's past and struggles/demons. It's also a very physical role. The acting of the rest of the actors is also on point, it's exactly what this type of sci-fi is about.
Keep in mind this is a first chapter, an introduction to the rest of the story, which I think some of the other reviewers here seem to be forgetting.
I recommend watching it, and I'm so waiting for the second part.

Great, but...
...the character of the reporter is just not the best, no depth. The actress needs more practice in drama, it often felt like there was no real acting in there. The expressions and the emotions are not believable. Let's see in season 2.
HOWEVER, Do-Chang's sister! What a class act!! A-mazing actress! And Do-Chang's character himself is a whole world of emotions, brilliant acting as well. He takes you on the journey along with Ji-Hyeok who is perfect as the tortured and smart detective. All the actors are excellent. The plot is very well woven. Highly recommend it.
Enjoyed every minute of it.
