King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (2017)
Penn is The Goat
Penn is a fantastic character. I truly appreciate how strong and masculine he is throughout the movie. Countless times he is shown to put himself in danger to save and protect those around him, and he earns a great deal of respect from me for it. Aside from Penn, I think the movie was a bit boring. There were not many plot points aside from turning the grail to Excalibur and fighting the robot. Also, why did Morgana turn into a giant robot when she was stabbed? That made no sense to me and it just seemed silly. I'm also not too sure why Morgana and Mordred were wearing such goofy clothes throughout the movie.
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (2002)
Gawain and The Lord's Wife
The sexual temptations provided by the Lord's wife portrayed her as a shallow character, as her only value to the plot was as a sexual object. I wish the author of the poem had given her a greater role that was less related her as a sexual object. If she had a role that developed her own identity, the story would feel more realistic, as no woman is simply focused on seducing a man for multiple days. She could have gone on a journey of her own, or discovered something. But instead she was just used by the Lord/Green Knight to tempt Gawain with sexual desires. Once again she fills the role of a stereotypical woman obeying a man.
