Dystopia: 2013 (2012)
Loved it
I was skeptical of this movie at first. It starts a bit slow and I wasn't sure where it was going. People have to give it a chance though. Within the first half hour I was extremely into it. The plot becomes more investing and interesting, and by the end of the movie I can say it had a huge impact on me. It was an extremely moving movie. I hope more films like it are made.
The film follows a few characters as they band together against the apocalypse. People may like some over others or have their favorites. But they are all great characters and have their purpose. That's all I'll say about it.
The Human Race (2013)
Loved it
Been into independent film lately and when I heard of this one I needed to see it right away. I was not disappointed. I can honestly say I loved every second of it. I am not necessarily a sci-fi fan, there are only a couple that I am a huge fan of, but now The Human Race is making that list as well. Great concept, exciting, characters I like, I was thinking about this movie a lot after I had seen it.
I won't spoil anything for anyone, but if you like exciting movies with unique concepts and actors that you aren't sick to death of looking at like Tom Cruise, then this movie is for you. I do hope there are more independent movies made like this. Anyone can tell that love and time went into this project. I kind of wish I could bring friends over to my house to see it, but my friends suck so I know they won't. I hope more people spread the word.
The Sky Has Fallen (2009)
Gruesome!
The story and concept were good and interesting. The movie kept me entertained and invested and I liked the apocalyptic zombie concept. I want to warn though that this movie does not shy away from gore! That is the only reason I am giving it a 9 instead of 10.
I gotta be honest it sicked me out a little bit. Considering it was independent I wasn't expecting to be so grossed out by it. However I am glad it was made and fans of gory zombie movies I think will be really into it. I consider this title ambitious especially for an independent film, but due to it's gruesome nature I just don't think I can rewatch it, but maybe I will.
