RIVETING!!!!
8 August 2022
It really takes a lot for me to watch war movies, even though I'm retired from the U. S. Navy, same goes for most westerns. I just happen to love mysteries and film noir. Anyway took a chance on this and was pretty much blown away how great the movie is. Something tells me this movie is probably as accurate as we're ever going to get to the facts about Hitler's last days before ending his life on his terms. I for one do believe the human side of Hitler was someone, no matter how wrong, still believed he was doing the right thing for Germany and it's people. The real tough part was the part of the six children, that was really, really tough to watch. And even then I could see how the parents believed it was the right thing to do. Lesson learned, don't do wars based on race.

I'm sure the world leaders are gonna listen, lol. And note, I'm a Conservative who votes Republican.

Just Had to Write a Review of This Great Movie
13 July 2022
Without doubt, the words, "great B-Movie" applies. This movie keeps you riveted from the very beginning. As someone mentioned in one of the reviews the story goes a little bit along the lines of the classic "Scrooge" story, except it's about a way out, one of a kind bank heist. And the acting is absolutely superb! All the actors are great, but especially Peter Cushing and Andre Morell, who was at the least as good, or better than Cushing, he was simply fantastic. And why not, he played the same character in a TV presentation a year earlier of this 1961 movie called, "The Gold Inside." I went looking for it on YouTube, no luck, couldn't find it.

Truly the Greatest Mystery Movie in my Lifetime!!! I'm almost 73
28 June 2022
This movie is a one in a10,000, it's simply hard to beat. It's got a little humor, great, great character actors who had a chance to shine as one of the leads, a crazy, not really believable plot, but that's what is so great about it. BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MATTER as it still keeps you in suspense and guessing. If you ever get a chance to watch this, and you take your, "What, no blood and guts" out of it, you'll love it.

CANNOT BELIEVE, NO Academy Award Nominations for this movie!
6 April 2022
Wow, what a great movie, there's several surprises near the end that I didn't see coming at all. This is really a can't miss movie. But if you're like me it may be best to watch it online. Because when you get stuck with trying to figure out how those hearings work, you can google it, not to mention you can stop/pause rewind.

Would have been terrific if ...
2 April 2022
This movie would've been really great had it been 30 to 45 minutes longer or even better, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. BUT it still was good, but you really have to pay attention to it, because it crams a lot of info into 70 minutes or so.

MYSTERY LOVER'S DELIGHT!!!!
22 February 2021
Man, if you like mysteries, you'll love this. I personally like the old 1940's/50's mysteries and took a chance watching this. The acting was fantastic, no senseless blood and guts in the movie. This is something Agatha Christie could've wrote.

THIS ORIGINAL OUTDOES LATER VERSIONS
2 October 2020
What can I say that hasn't been said about this probably considered B-movie when originally released. It's simply a great movie. I've seen two remakes from '69 and '88 and they're simply not as good as this one. For me, it's O'Brien's performance, I mean you start to feel so much empathy for his character and if you're like me you end up with tears in your eyes.

VERY GOOD MOVIE
26 May 2020
I read one of the below reviews and it mentioned this movie was a little like 1950's "Crisis" with Cary Grant so I had to see it. And as it was, it was well worth the time as this movie was as I stated a "very good movie." I did like the little surprise ending it had and that's about all I'll say.

VERY GOOD!
17 May 2020
If you're a shoot 'em up blood and gutser, rock 'em, sock 'em kind of viewer, you're not going to like this movie. But if you like a thinking person's movie with a little suspense and mystery, you'll love it. I thought the acting was good all the way around especially by Peck and Crawford.

One of My Favorite Episodes
6 April 2020
This episode is sooooooo funny, it's about Bud trying to impress a girl who likes men who live dangerously through various things such as skydiving, river rafting etc. But the part that still gets me howling is the sisterly advice Kelly gives Bud on women viewing men for the first time from their perspective. I can't give it away but it's hilarious. So pay attention to Kelly's sisterly advice to Bud and how it plays out towards the end of the show.

THIS SHOW WAS GREAT
28 January 2020
I note that there is a 4.2 rating for this show ... there is no doubt in my mind it is purposefully stacked with low ratings by you know what group. Truth is, this show was hilarious, Rush Limbaugh was great doing this. I suspect due to his political leaning his show didn't get picked up by many stations.

IF YOU LIKE MYSTERY, YOU'LL LOVE THIS
9 January 2020
I seen this about a year ago and notice it only has a 5.9 rating. Only thing I can think for the low score is the movie starts off slow. But be patient it gets better and in the end with all the great actors in this, you'll be glad you watched it. Remember this story is from a novel written by Alistair MacLean who also wrote Guns of Navarone and Where Eagles Dare. So you just know it might have something to do with WWII and it does, but that's not at all the main thing. Cannot give more info 'cause it won't be a surprise!

OUTSTANDING!
22 August 2019
I seen this when in came out but was only nine and in it for the view of the fly monster. I had no clue about the sadness and human aspect of the movie. I just recently watched it and I'm telling you, this is a great science fiction/horror movie. If you don't get a tear in your eye, I don't know what to say.

Great Movie
1 August 2019
I saw this back when it came out. I was about 7 or so and loved the hell out of horror/monster movies, anything scary. I've since seen it many times and finally got it. It's really a sad movie about a poor creature who got here through no fault of its own. I won't say much more but if you get a chance to watch this ... do it! Note, I don't believe I've given away any spoilers as you'll know at the beginning that the creature was brought here from space.

Great Acting From Powell!
27 October 2018
I know, I know, Bogart was and is a great screen detective, but Dick Powell did an off the charts job in this movie. Makes you wonder why he didn't do a dozen more. After really watching these movies of the past I am thoroughly convinced they're acting is every bit as good and times better than the actors of today. I realize the over dramatizations that they did but that wasn't their fault, if you want to put blame put it on the directors of the movies as that's what they wanted. Dick Powell is one of those actors who simply had it.

Surprise ending for me
21 May 2017
Because of hearing about this film for decades, it seemed like it was a Joan Crawford type drama, which is not my cup of tea. But after forcing myself to view it I was pleasantly surprised as it is a great film. And this movie in my opinion made me realize one thing. That it wasn't the actors acting in older movies that seemed corny, it was the screenplay writing, sort of the same thing like in "The Postman Always Rings Twice." These actors in the movie were superb. But every now and then the actor's would kinda say things too perfectly. It's like the screenplay writer's thought that we couldn't figure it out. I also went into the movie with a preconceived idea of who the killer was and was kinda surprised with the twists and turns, so that made it better as I was right, then wrong, then right. But this was my problem, anyone watching the movie not knowing any history of the movie won't have that problem.

Absolutely Funny for all time!
12 April 2017
Bob Newhart, although most of the time played dead pan was surely the person the show couldn't function without. But of course I'm a little biased as he's my favorite stand-up, the greatest ever. I never saw the show when it was current but am catching it onreruns and of course the humor's still funny even in 2017! Stephanie is so out of this world cute, and it was pretty hard to believe she wasalready in her 30s when she started on the show. Absolutely hilariously funny show!

Best Acting Performance All Time
14 November 2014
I've seen this movie a few times before it dawned on me how so real Gary Cooper presented himself throughout the movie! His acting is so realistic I can really believe this might have happened. I know there have been a lot of good western movies throughout history but this one takes the cake. Of course if you like car chases, zombies, Clint Eastwood shooting 5 guys in 4 seconds it's not for you (no disrespect Clint I love your movies too) as there is none of that here. PLEASE! If you ever get a chance to view this movie, view it, you won't be sorry. And pay particular attention to Cooper's acting as it is phenomenal (no over the top Pacino/Nicholson type stuff) and of course no disrespect to those guys because I love their movies also! First posted movie review ever even though I use the IMDb a lot prior to watching a movie!
