Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2024)
What an Absolute MESS!!!
So clearly like most people, I was expecting it to be like the movie. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are a married couple and both spies but they don't know this and discover about each other which was the most fun part of the highly forgettable one time watch movie.
I was hoping this would take a more serious and darker take on the movie which it did seem to with the opening scene, where jane and john have fallen in love and gone rogue now the agency needs to take them out, off the a great start.
Then you get 2 misfits put together as a pretend couple to carry out missions, their first mission is delivering a package which turns out to be a bomb that kills 9 people and these idiots celebrate their success of the mission instead of questioning anything they carry out these type of useless missions and get paid.
The part where this turns to a real mess is it all becomes about their pretend marriage and their feelings about each other and how those feelings affect their professionalism.
If you are looking for a spy thriller action show this isn't it, its just a bore fest after first episode, don't expect any twist or the curtain to be pulled to expose the mickey mouse agency.
Indian Police Force (2024)
same old cliche this time in a web series
Rohit shetty thinks he can dish out the same nonesense over and over and it will be a cash cow. Lets have a look at the list of cliches.
Main officer leading is a muslim - tick
Terrorists are muslims funded by foreign countries - tick
Over juiced indian patriotism on display - tick
and the list goes on, the story has many holes and scenes are put together sometimes dont make sense over the top action.
Either bollywood is obsessed with this genre or the indian audiences love this sort of content, it doesnt work with an international audience on an international level, should have been a tv webseries for india only. I couldnt make past 4 episodes.
Operation Mayfair (2023)
Who wrote this trash...
You can make a total crap movie with a bit of good production value and Netlix will throw it on their subscribers. Netflix isnt bothered they make money off their subscribers so they buy any trash.
Since its an indian movie you can excuse the high ranking police officials in London with thick indian accents and bad english. Then to add insult to injury majority of the indians have english names, like kevin lisa etc... like really?
Like other reviewers have said the acting is so bad, the lead officer is discussing the case in hindi while theres english members on the team. No suspense, no mystery, no build up just a 2 hour nonesense put together.
Farzi (2023)
Amazing Direction and Execution...
I saw the trailer and it was hype, so I kinda knew what to expect, overhyped shows and I carry low expectations. But this blew me away.
Shahid Kapoor gives it his best and that's what we get.
The story does have the premise of breaking bad, but Farzi holds its own.
There's good character building, good drama, some dark humor and action. There's some small loopholes but can be overlooked.
I don't know what show can top this in 2023. Indian webseries are really getting on par with the same genre in english.
This show has potential to deliver another 3 seasons, most indian shows either 1 season or end at 2nd season.
The Ghost (2022)
Just didnt take off
I was browsing Netflix just as this movie was released decided to settle for it as I love south indian movies.
Nagarjuna is known for style and action but he couldnt save this weak script. The movie had taken bits from John Wick, Taken and some other Liam Neeson movies.
At times you can tell Nagarjuna is standing in front of a green screen.
Overall production value was good but the plot was full of loopholes, the whole underworld is afraid of one man is rather far fetched, but then again you gotta turn off logic to enjoy the movie.
The premise was really good but very weak delivery.
I have given up on bollywood a long time ago, I hope south cinema doesnt start going in same direction with such movies.
