I Love Lucy (1951–1957)

I Love Lucy!
11 July 2007
This has got to be by far the best series I have ever seen on TV. I am the kind of person where it is hard to make me laugh, but I Love Lucy cracks me up every time. The cast is just perfect with Lucy, Ricky, Ethel and Fred. The Hollywood and Europe episodes were the best though. This series might be over 50yrs old but it hasn't dated, it is still as funny as when it aired. The thing about this show is you can watch the same episodes time after time and you will still laugh. Not many shows make it so you can watch them over and over and not get bored of them. The chemistry of the cast was also genius, and the writers did an amazing job. This show will live through the test of time as it has already done.

Lucy is Mame
11 July 2007
Before I begin this is probably a bias review as I am a Lucille Ball Fan.

When I first got the Lucille Ball Boxset with the five movies, I was very worried about watching Mame. I had seen such bad reviews for it so I wasn't expecting a good movie. I ended up watching it last, and was expecting the worst. But was I ever surprised, she did an excellent job as Mame. Lucille Ball is not a singer, and is not a dancer. She had just hurt her leg from a skiing injury and was recovering. But she did her darn best in this film and you can see she did. I have watched this movie many times now, and I enjoy it every time. The film is fun, and vibrant. If you can just overlook the fact that Lucy isn't the best singer nor dancer then you will enjoy this film. And for the record I am not a fan of musical movies either. Lucy does look old in the beginning part but really later on in the movie she looks fine. Just give this movie a chance, like I did.

Here's Lucy (1968–1974)

Enjoyable
11 July 2007
I am lucky where I am they air "Heres Lucy" on weekdays so I have seen many episodes. Here's Lucy isn't as good as "I Love Lucy" but it does have its laughs. I am a fan of Lucille Ball, and Gale Gordon, and I think they did a good show. The only thing which I dislike about the series is the singing and dancing acts. Also the show relies a lot on guest stars. There are episodes which will make you laugh and others which aren't as funny. It is nice seeing Lucy work with her kids though. I can't really compare this show though to "The Lucy Show" since I have only seen about thirty episodes most of being color. But overall this series is very well done. Not as good as "I Love Lucy" but its still worth watching.

Citizen Kane (1941)

Overrated
11 July 2007
I was reading the list of the top movies one evening on the AFI, and I saw this movie was #1 American Film. So I decided I would rent it and I saw it today. I was expecting to be blown away and this would be the best movie I would ever see. Well was I in for a surprise.

This movie is by far one of the worst films I have ever seen in my life. The worst would have to be Zigfield Follies but this comes pretty close. I do like and enjoy classic films. I don't care if a movie is in B&W either. But this movie is just dated, and I don't see what the hype is about. This movie is just 100% overrated. I am someone who can sit through movies but this one I got bored of.

I thought maybe it was because I got interrupted in the beginning of the film, and maybe it would get better later on. Well it just kept dragging. So I got to basically the last 36min of the film and had to just turn it off. So a few hours later I figured I would try to watch it again, but I couldn't even watch 5min. I just went to the last 10min of the movie and was disappointed.

All I can say is watch this movie at your own risk, and I hope you enjoy it more then me. Seeing the reviews on here I feel good I am not the only person who didn't enjoy it.

Funny but the Ending could've been better
22 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Well I saw the movie yesterday and I have to say it gave me a good laugh. As a Lucille Ball fan she played a very big role in this movie.

She wasn't as goofy as she was in I Love Lucy or her future series but she was still excellent in this film.

I would've given this movie 10 stars but the ending ended very abrupt and to fast.

It would've been better if they would've explained it a bit more about how Steven got that tattoo on his chest.

Other then that though I highly recommend this movie to anybody who wants a laugh or is a fan of Lucille Ball.
