Megan Is Missing (2011)
Absolutely Disgusting
This movie is one of the most graphic, disgusting, and gore filled movies I have ever seen in my entire life. The first hour or so consists of terrible acting and depictions of minors doing sexual activity and heavy drugs, which already is hard enough to stomach. The last 22 minutes are completely unwatchable unless you are sick in the head. The rape and torture of Amy, as well as the depiction of Megan's decomposing body, is absolutely repulsive. I have seen some gross and graphic found footage, but this takes the cake. The movie goes from cringeworthy acting to absolutely unwatchable scenes. The fetish site photos of Megan were already absolutely terrible, and it just got worse and worse in the last half hour of the film. The fact this is trending on TikTok scares me, as anyone who goes into this film needs to be aware of what exactly they're getting into. This is not just a scary movie depicting kidnapping, it shows very graphic and disturbing images of sexual assault, murder, abuse, and more. There is no other film out there that has come close to this level of disturbing for me. I personally do not think this movie is worth watching. You have to suck up awful acting that deals with mentions of sexual assault, just to end up watching disgusting scenes of torture. There is no good, investing part of this movie. Nobody likes bad acting, and nobody likes to watch this sort of content.
Caillou (1997)
Terrible.
If you've been on the internet at all, chances are you've seen how Caillou has been absolutely dragged through the mud and back all over YouTube and social media as a whole. But I simply do not care and I'm about to contribute to that.
The fact that any parent would put this on for their child absolutely boggles my mind. Not only is this so incredibly annoying it'll make you want to rip the hair out of your skull, but there is very little educational value whatsoever. If anything, I'd argue it's just teaching your kids to be brats. Caillou spends every single episode of this show whining and complaining, throwing temper tantrums until his parents give him whatever it is he wants. This show is nothing but harmful and pathetic.
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)
Amazing Halloween Movie
The Charlie Brown movies never fail to impress me! This is easily one of the most adorable Peanuts films, tied with the Christmas and Valentine's Day one. The entire storyline is just so cute, and it's became one of my favorite Halloween movies. While I'm typically more into horror films around October, I have watched this so many times I cannot even count it. It's not scary, but it's an incredibly wholesome movie guaranteed to put a smile on your face during the fall season. Watching Sally and Linus prepare for the Great Pumpkin was absolutely adorable. It's a great movie to watch by yourself or with your family, and it's become a tradition at my house to watch it each year.
We Baby Bears (2022)
It's Just Not Good
I enjoyed We Bare Bears quite a bit, so when I saw that they made a reboot version with the bears as babies, I figured I'd give it try. After watching multiple episodes of the first season, I wasn't impressed. While this show isn't terrible by any means, it honestly just isn't as good as it used to be. The plot of the episodes is mediocre, and the bears aren't the same. It feels almost as if they're totally different characters, not infant versions of the original ones. Cartoon Network has definitely had worse reboots, such as Teen Titans Go! And Total Dramarama. That being said, it doesn't change the fact that this show is bad.
Total Dramarama (2018)
Deeply Disappointing
I was so excited to see a new Total Drama show. I loved the first one, and to see that years later there would be a new one on Cartoon Network, I couldn't wait! However, this was honestly just terrible. The humor in this show is just stupid, and not even in a funny sort of way. It lacks a proper storyline. The characters are so much worse in this reboot. I loved them all in Total Drama, but they're terrible in Total Dramarama. If you've watched Spongebob Squarepants, chances are you've noticed that the characters and the episodes just got worse in the newest seasons, and it doesn't feel the same way that the older seasons did. This is like that, just make it even worse. It genuinely feels as if this show was pushed onto TV just to create even the smallest amount of profit for Cartoon Network. I'm so upset, this could've been a great show but it just sucks.
The Strange Thing About the Johnsons (2011)
Highly Disturbing
I stumbled across this short film on YouTube. I was looking for a horror film I could watch in under 30 minutes, and I sure got that.
For some context: The director of this film is the same man who made the hit horror movie Hereditary. The reason he decided to make The Strange Thing About the Johnsons was to get the audience to feel shocked and disgusted at the abuse shown, and to make people realize that it this case of a son sexually abusing his father was so disturbing, we should feel the same exact way when the roles are reversed.
This was easily one of the hardest, most difficult to swallow films I have ever seen. The scenes in this are so triggering and sickening, I have never seen something quite like this. It left me feeling gross and disgusted for hours on end. If you're looking for a horror movie that'll really mess you up, this will sure as hell do it. Please just be aware that there are several scenes with abuse, extreme manipulation, and even a murder scene. Do not watch if you can't handle those subjects.
The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez (2020)
Absolutely Heartbreaking
Typically true crime doesn't upset me that badly, as I've seen a lot of it, but dear god I was crying the entire time I watched this documentary. The story of this poor little boy is one of the saddest, most horrific cases of abuse I have ever seen. The fact he endured all this and the system failed to save him is so devastating. Gabriel Fernandez was the sweetest little boy, and he did not deserve anything that happened to him. This film did an amazing job sharing his story and giving him the justice he very much deserved. Overall, the documentary was great, but please be aware that it is incredibly triggering and can make you incredibly emotional.
Haters Back Off! (2016)
Good Show for Miranda Sings Fans
This show is pretty good, but if you haven't watched Colleen Ballinger's YouTube character, Miranda Sings, then chances are you won't like this and it won't make a lot of sense to you. The show does a good job giving a backstory to the character, as well as giving an insight into her family and what happens when the cameras are off. I watched a lot of Miranda Sings videos when I was younger, so this show brought back a lot of memories. On the other hand, if you just stumbled across this on Netflix, I can understand your negative reviews. You'd probably be wondering "Why is she wearing so much lipstick?", "What's wrong with this family, why are they like this?", and you might also just not like humor. It definitely has a target audience, and if you're not part of it there's a chance you won't like the show so much.
You Should Have Left (2020)
It's Okay
This movie isn't necessarily bad, it's just not that original. The plot itself just feels very overused: The whole idea of staying in a house that's haunting the people whom are visiting is the plot of so many films, so it was almost as if I had already seen this before. The murder mystery aspect was okay, but nothing spectacular. It's also just not very frightening honestly, which is disappointing for a horror film. The acting is pretty good, which is to be expected from the leads as they're incredibly talented people. While it is entertaining at times, there's better movies out there. Just overall a very a mediocre film.
