Caroline and Jackie (2012)
Glad I found this director
I just watched Newly Single and Caroline and Jackie today after discovering Diary of a Spy over the weekend. Dude! This director has a really compelling and original voice. Newly Single is by far my favorite of the group, but it's not going to be for everyone, this on the other hand I'd recommend to more people. Like his other films, it's not a feel good easy movie, but it's raw and real and super original. It makes you think. He's really good at capturing awkward and painful domestic moments. Acting too, is really strong in his three films.

I dig this voice
I went and watched this today because I saw Diary of a Spy and thought it was slow but original, in a way I kind of liked. This film is even way better. Maybe I'm not in the know, but I'm surprised this guy is not bigger than he is. He has a super original voice that feels really refreshing right now. This is a super unlikable character and it's clearly intentionally that way, but at the same time it feels really bold because it's kind of like how a lot of guys really are in this day and age. This movie is not going to make you feel good, but it's going to make you think, a lot, and that seems to be the point.
Diary of a Spy (2022)
Super refreshing
Dude, this kind of rocks. It's super realistic, like not a James Bond movie, or whatever, but really makes you feel like you're in the world of a real spy. I totally got lost in it, and don't think I've ever seen anything like it before.
