The Glass Bottom Boat (1966)
Endearing
I love Doris Day, and her works, in television and film. This one is so much fun to watch! As usual Ms. Day looks amazing, and her wardrobe is beautiful. The Glass Bottom Boat song is catchy and I found myself singing it later on. I loved all of the pets in Ms Day's home and the charming decor but especially all the mid century modern decor in her love interest's home. It really makes you realize the lack of positivity and comfort we lack in today's world. There was such a variety of comedic actors that were popular in the comedy films of that era. I watched this on YouTube free with ads, and truly enjoyed it!
Lisztomania (1975)
Wow!
Remember seeing this when I was just 16 years old! Wow! I can't believe they let us young girls into the theater! But Roger Daltrey is dazzling, and we swooned, watching him swing half naked on a curtain! Now at 63, I still was swooning! The film if fun, indulgent and kinda trashy! It was enjoyable to see the cameos of Ringo and Rick Wakeman. The ending reminds one of the ending in Grease, terrible, where they take off in some rocket contraption! The part with Wagner being a Hitleresque, monster shooting the town, reminds me of tRump( sorry, couldn't help it) . The craziest part was the giant penis scene. Like I said, I can't believe the theater let our little group of girls (aged 13-15) in to see this film. I still enjoyed watching it, even though it was all over the place, at times.
Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter (1968)
Very British
This film is cute, but I found it so British that I imagine American audiences had a hard time relating to it. It went on a bit too long, and I actually dozed off for a bit. It was fun seeing 1960's England and all the mod fashion.
