Currently this show sits in a place for me that it holds my attention. I am neither captivated nor bored by the story. As with anything associated with TWD, the acting and sets are good. While I can say that I miss Negan's evil, ruthless personality it is nice to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan play the character in a different way. The show has promise and it's nice to see that after so much exposure to these characters in TWD and now Dead City, they haven't become completely stale or boring. I believe this show is not for the casual Walking Dead fan but someone who is truly invested in the character progression of Maggie and Negan.

Won't win a Riga-Tony

For some time i struggled between giving this a 5 or a 6. This movie has a nice animation style, gore and good voice acting. However, many of the jokes just didn't hit for me. Occasionally I found some things in the movie amusing but never did I find myself laughing aloud or smiling during the 70 minute runtime. I never was in a position where i regretted starting this movie. That being said at no point did I find this movie to be something I'd remember beyond a viewing and a review. Some of the characters were likable, while others were annoying, such as Mary. This movie is slightly above average and is a deviation from ATHF but does have some positives and should appeal to those who enjoy Adult Swim style humor.

This film is a mixed bag for a slasher film. While slasher films have the ability to work under simplified and linear story this movie still seems to lack anything truly compelling and is in my opinion too long. I find myself not really caring for the characters a great deal. However, this movie plays to its audience quite well despite this. The kills and effects are well done and as always David Thornton is brilliant in his body language and facial expressions. While I can't say this is the best slasher I have ever seen I do recommend the movie to anyone looking for some satisfying and brutal kills.
The Wailing

The Wailing gave me a unique experience and at several points I questioned the movie. The movie covers several horror genres and keeps the audience guessing until the very end. Near the beginning and halfway through the movie I questioned why it was so long. However, as I write this review I can appreciate the patient, slow-burning nature of this film. It does not spoon feed the audience but leads them to draw their own conclusions as the movie goes on. The Wailing deviates from a standard plot and does so in a way that never feels stale or forced. The movie forces you to question your preconceptions and it is not immediately easy to understand the movie, it makes you think. I reccomend this movie, well worth the long run-time.
Cloverfield

Cloverfield is a good movie, while it certainly won't make my list for best horror/monster I recommend it be watched. The film operates in a similar way to Jaws in that the creature is teased in a way that builds suspense but not to the point where it makes the movie boring. The film does suffer slightly from the found-footage genre issue in that you wonder why the character is still filming for any other point than to 'document' the crazy event the movie is based upon. Personally, I'd like both hands available in the case that poop hits the fan, though documenting such crazy stuff would be a cool claim to fame. Cloverfield is an above-average found footage movie that should be seen by any monster fan.

Saw V exceeds expectations and breathes new life into the dead body of Jigsaw. The twists and turns will hit you in a way you didn't think would happen. The gore is decent but is more so to drive the story. For the fifth movie in a series Saw V is good.

This movie has good acting, an acceptable storyline and is filled with laughs. Chances are you either know a Barry or are yourself one. Most likely you will think of someone you know or will do some self reflecting and say 'Yep, he/she or I is/am a Barry". The movie is good for what it is and exceeded my expectations.
Saw III

This movie in my opinion is better than Saw II in that instead of constant escape room problems it focuses on raw human emotion. While gore is still ever present it serves as a catalyst to the story instead of the main attraction. All this being said the end feels a bit forced in that each Saw movie thus far has had a dramatic twist/reveal accompanied by the same music and seemingly endless cutaways. The movie keeps the franchise alive and holds attention with it's storyline that forces the viewer to consider what they would do in the same situation. This movie takes the Saw franchise in a slightly different direction and is worth the watch.
Saw II

Saw II is no deviation from the formula. The movie involves a game of death and twists in which both audience and characters are confused
and scared. The acting and choices from some characters was a bit irritating but overall this is is a decent sequel. The movie feels a little too much like watching forced escape room intelligence (numbers, keys, etc.) at points but it doesn't kill the movie (only its characters). Saw II keeps the franchise alive as a decent installment with it's storyline and gore and delivers upon expectations for a movie of the genre.

This movie is a mixed bag. For a lower-budget movie the acting is really quite good; however, the CGI is pretty bad. Unfortunately I found my immersion being ruined with the CGI at points. I'm glad to have watched this movie and recommend it however also warn that I am not a fan of the ending.

This sequel left me happy that a second movie was made. The concept of the collection doesn't require incredible acting for the story but the actors do a fairly decent job. While this isn't as good as the first movie it stands on it's own as an above average horror movie I was glad to have watched.

Splinter is a movie that I certainly will not place on my list of favorite horrors but by no means is it a bad movie. The acting is ok and the story is acceptable. The movie held my attention but at no point was I completely invested. However, I'm glad I watched this movie as the concept is interesting and the execution is decent.

This movie seems almost like an escape room and a SAW movie had a love child. The movie has decent acting, gore and interesting deaths. Do not go in with the expectations of cinematic masterpiece but instead a shock-horror type movie and you will be pleased with this movie. While it won't make any best horror movie list it's a pretty good movie worth a watch.

This movie surpassed my expectations. Woody Harrelson plays the character in a goofy yet serious way that works perfectly. The movie connects you with both the characters and the story. It contains triumph, defeat, laughs, and sadness. I recommend watching this movie.

I have watched many off-beat movies but this might just be the weirdest one I've ever seen. The movie might just be worth a watch on the basis of being able to describe it to others and in the process watch them be both entertained and disgusted for several minutes (I have). The movie is a bit slow at points and in my opinion not a horror. The movie is slightly above average all be it weird.

This movie is exactly what you expect, the storyline is average and predictable with moments of incredible action and iconic references to the source material. The movie doesn't present itself as a cinematic masterpiece but an above average 90's action movie, and that's exactly what you get.

Horror-Comedies often get a tough go around in their reception and reviews. This movie however deserves every bit of its praise. The acting is great and the jokes are quite funny. Many horror-comedies are ok but quite forgettable, Tucker and Dale is a movie that can be watched again and still enjoyed. I highly recommend this movie.

The Goat Story is certainly a weird one. The animation just looks weird and the voice acting is sub-par. The film is marketed towards kids but features outrageous cleavage and a hanging scene. Not sure if I'm more proud or ashamed having made it through this movie.
