This England (2022)
The most real fiction I've ever seen
Where to start with this.
Every episode advises this is fiction based on fact. From everything I remember during the pandemic it seems pretty spot on.
The idea for this was great although it could have backfired due to the horrible impact covid had on everyone.
In my opinion this was put together with great care and consideration to everyone who has been impacted by this pandemic. The scenes in the care home and those caring for family at home are heartbreaking. However they really show how people came together and supported one another.
The other side to the coin, it also shows the worst is some people who were working within the government who felt they were above the common person. This was a story which needed to be told and has been done while using corroborated fact.
The acting is off the chart and really pulls you in. It doesn't take long before you stop realising you are watching a drama and feel that you are right there with them. You will have genuine feeling for the characters both loving and hating which is probably why some don't enjoy this. Some of the negative reviews, could likely be due to the fact, that this make you look again at the views you had on certain individuals during the lockdown. Not only that but who was really in charge of the government during the pandemic.
This is a must watch and I would be extremely dissapointed if this is not nominated for all sorts of awards.
10 starts is not enough.
Alien Resurrection (1997)
A Brilliant Bad Movie
I don't knowhow to explainthis but this movie is bad yet brilliant at the same time.
Althoughi would call it a bad movie I can't give it a bad review.
I really enjoyed this film the first time I watched it and have watched it many times since.
The cast it amazing and and really good to see Brad Dourif appear in an Alien film. He brings a real mix of horror and sci fi experience to the table. Despite the great cast the characters seem too animated compared to the previous films. All the Alien films are great but it could have been left at the foundery in Alien 3 which would have given us complete closure.
Despite the cheese though this is a movie that is now part of the Alien saga and in a way works fine. Not as good as the others but I personallynow wouldn't be without it.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Brutal, Bloody, Brilliant, By god we want more
I was worried about this as we are moving away from comfort of the words of George R R Martin and we seen how the GOT ended.
Fear not the hype is well deserved and the true game of thrones is about to start.
This has been so well written and directed and already the character development is beginning and pulling us in.
I am so looking forward to see where this goes.
We all know if it was Disney there would he a house of the wolf and so on, however if this team can put this together the way they have over and over we will welcome some spin offs in the future.
This will blow you away.
La Brea (2021)
Look deeper (pun intended)
There is a lot of hate on some of the reviews but I feel its a bit harsh. There are some good points made and a bit more editing could have been done which would have corrected some of it but its not that bad.
I loved Terra Nova and still gutted it got canceled after 1 season and this is kind of making up for it as long as there are more seasons.
There are worse things to watch, I'm not expecting a programme about falling through a sink hole and into the past to be realistic. I expect it to be entertaining which La Brea is.
When watching this try to shut off and not look for any errors, just sit back and enjoy the ride.
The Baby (2022)
Not bad a 1 time view
This was not the worst thing I've seen. It's not something I will rewatch but I'm glad I've seen it. Very clever and does paint a great between the lines look at post natal depression throwing in some humour to lighten the mood.
Its good entertainment with some serious undertones wrapped up in some really funny one liners and and supernatural story.
From (2022)
Best thing around in a while.
This was just amazing. They have actually managed to come up with something original in a market where everything has been done. So few things deserve a top rating but this should be higher. The best thing I've watched in years. The suspense keeps growing and I'm sure there are going to be some bug revelations in the next seasons.
Critters Attack! (2019)
90 mins I can never get back
This franchise launched the carrear of Leo Di Caprio then this happened. I love the Critters movies and to keep that going I am going to scrub this from my memory and pretend it was never made. Total drivel.
