Very out of character for Ziva
29 July 2023
This episode is very out of character for Ziva David. She's not been affected by having to kill someone in any other episode, why is she in this one? Unless, as I heard elsewhere some time ago, this episode had actually been written for the Caitlin Todd character. It makes much more sense for Kate than it does for Mossad operative Ziva. Maybe production needed a script in a hurry, this one was sitting on the shelf, and they didn't have time (or didn't bother) trying to retool it for Ziva's character. Guess I'll just put this episode down as a kind of alternate universe NCIS cause it sure doesn't seem to work in normal universe NCIS.

A Mary Sue story that actually got greenlit
25 February 2023
The premise is very interesting, but it's poorly written and the lead actor is very bland and one note. Not at all appealing. I've tried watching this show, but I just can't. Bode, the main character, is a total Mary Sue. The twist is that he's an inmate firefighter. He's always the one who saves the day, the best at all of it, yadda yadda yadda. If you don't know what a Mary Sue is, look it up on Wikipedia. The scenery is beautiful, I'll give it that, but that's only gonna go so far cause this ain't a documentary. I'm amazed that CBS gave it a second season, and that they're saying it's the number one new show cause I just don't see it.

And I was 20 when I saw it! First time I saw this episode was at a Space:1999 convention in Pittsburgh, and it scared the crap out of me! Excellent job, Mr Serling and cast!
