Escape the Field (2022)
Great Concept but Badly Implemented
The concept of the film is good and with a decent script and better actors it could have been a very good watch, however the script is terrible and the acting much worse. The most annoying thing (apart from the black actress) is the ending, hugely dissapointing. 3 stars for the concept amd good intentions but the film as a whole would get 1 maybe 2 if I was generous.
NCIS: Los Angeles: Work & Family (2022)
3 Stars just about
Starts off well with an action explosion but then quickly tails off. The scene with Callen and Arkayde was fun, but writers are still pushing the BLM card with Roundtree and now an immigration sideline with Deeks and Kensi. It's just recycled trash that is spewed out. I can already see the Dementia story with Sam getting tiresome.
NCIS: Los Angeles: MWD (2022)
Meh......
The omission of Deeks in this episode shows how vital the character is to the show. As this particular episode is all about a dog, it would have been perfect for Deeks involvement, why the writers felt he needed to go missing and not explain it is baffling.
The overall episode never really got going, it jumped from mediocre subplot to mediocre subplot... the Callen deepfake thing should be the main plot for an entire season, it's got legs but we seem to have to keep being reminded of social issues like "racist LAPD" or "Deeks Blye Baby" and now we have "Sams Dads Alzheimers". We don't need all these subplots, just get the Callen story going.
Not the best episode...
S.W.A.T.: Cry Foul (2022)
Nice Return to Action
This episode was really enjoyable. It used the whole Street Rebellion from early seasons to aim at a new rookie recruit, which kind of sat nicely into the script. Both subplots ran nicely to the main one and was well shot.
On a geeky note - the first explosion is seen on Palmetto Street in Downtown LA arts district. The building has been used in Always Sunny and very heavily in Diagnosis Murder.
NCIS: Los Angeles: Under the Influence (2022)
Zero Stars
I have watched this show since it's in eption and this is by far the worst episode ever. The annoyance level of these "social media" stars, their pronouns and trolling is just ridiculous. Ramming it down our screens just to tick the "Woke" box makes it unwatchable in parts. This makes me think that this show should have ended when Nell and Eric left. It is now just a platform for the writers to try and win over the woke generation.
SEAL Team: Frog on the Tracks (2021)
Immediate Impact
The shots, camera angles, the language everything is just better coming away from the family type show that CBS tried to maintain. Don't get me wrong it worked for 4 seasons but this switch in platform just seems to step up the show for the better. Great episode and shows that the show runners want this to continuously improve.
