Filler episode?
1 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Legendary's Monsterverse isn't what most people would call quality entertainment, but it is entertaining. It's what you get if you insert great monster battles in an average Hallmark movie.

This episode was scraping rock bottom of any logic and entertainment. The armadillo mole monster lives in the frozen tundra of Alaska...but feeds off heat? We get flashbacks to the beginning of Kentaros and Mays relationship throughout the episode...but ends with hints of Cate (Kentaro's sister) and Mays relationship? I really hope this isn't the direction the show is going, because the drop in quality from Hallmark to Jerry Springer is where I change the channel.

Riding "The Chosens" coattails.
6 July 2023
The movie tries to jump around in the story artistically, but it's confusing even if you know the story. It added elements that don't make any sense nor added anything to the overall narrative. Isaac is probably a homeschool kid of one of the producers, because he's as white as my 2 buttcheeks and is a terrible actor. More unnecessary slow motion than any Zack Snyder movie. You can immediately tell who all the bad guys are because of the black eyeliner. The list of negatives go on and on.

Honestly, it's what you'd expect if you gave that one lady in your church a couple thousand dollars to throw a church play. Definitely trying to ride the coattails of the Chosen, and definitely falls flat.

yo-yo tomahawk
5 August 2022
Criticisms first: The most unbelievable thing about this movie is the yo-yo tomahawk, not the 7 foot alien. This is something an 8 year old thinks of, tries it, then realizes that their imagination wrote a check that reality can't cash.

A trend in sequels lately is frequent and in your face callbacks to the original, like in Top Gun: Maverick (great movie, but too much in my opinion). There's a few in this movie that could've been done without. I just like a sequel to stand on its own more. Some people will disagree, just my preference.

Aside from that, it's probably the best Predator sequel to date. The bar is pretty low, but I really enjoyed it. It's not the woke movie early reviews says it is, just don't expect oiled body builders wielding machine guns. The Predator in this movie is big fan service and not the big headed clunky versions in previous sequels, but a deadly, agile, killing machine.

Great soundtrack too, it's got hints of Last of the Mohicans vibes.

For a period piece too, it's pretty accurate...except for the yo-yo tomahawk. I'd love to see a follow up!
