Little House on the Prairie: Castoffs (1977)
Poor
A very poor start to season 4. Jack the dog dies, very sad for Laura and the family. There's a "crazy lady" who has made a home in a burned out house next to the church in Walnut Grove. In the past three seasons there's never been a house there and it's never seen there again.
The children befriend her, she seems like a nice lady, keeps herself to herself and always kind.
Yet the lovely kind people of Walnut Grove have a meeting and decide not to let her stay in the town. So the ever so kind reverend and Charles kick her out. These lovely kind Christian folk kick out a defenceless 80 year old. Rather than offer her someone warm and dry to stay.
Frasier: Cheerful Goodbyes (2002)
Average
Not the best episode.
There's a tiny side plot of a dinner reservation but the bulk of the episode is about Cliff retiring to Florida. George Wendt and John Ratzenburger are as good as ever. Rea Pearlman is good but Carla's character feels dated now. If she hates Cliff that much why would she go to his retirement do.
The episode was clearly done on the cheap. Instead of having the party in Cheers it's in some community centre type place and Ted Danson, Shelley Long, Kirsty Alley are all missing.
Good to see Paul there and his postal friend from the original show.
Apart from the nostalgia for old folk like me I fail to see what the point of the episode was.
Suspicion (2022)
Eh
It's started off quite intriguing. Lots of twist and turns to keep you guessing. I've seen enough of these types of shows to guess Leo staged it himself. It was obvious part way through Tara was in on it.
However, there are a few loose ends. Why did they try to frame Sean? Why did Natalie hand herself into the police?
Tara's motivation is obvious but Leo's involvement was never explained? Why would he try to break his mothers empire when it would leave him with nothing? And the irony of faking his own kidnapping so the truth would come out....... But maybe that's the point, nothing ever changes .
Bel-Air (2022)
Not the fresh prince
This is not the fresh prince we all know and love.
Uncle Phil doesn't have the integrity the original has.
Geoffrey is a "fixer" who arranges the murder of someone
Ashley is gay
Vivian isn't happy with anything Hillary does
Carlton snorts drugs and isn't the clean straight A student
Although the original is dated in areas the reason it's still popular and worth watching is you know that despite their differences they all loved and cared for each other and if there was one thing you could count on is that uncle Phil and aunt Viv always taught their kids, and audience, integrity, honour and how to carry yourself through life and how to hold your head up high.
I always remember the episode where Will is asked to carry out a bribe and a politician says to phil no one gets to where they are without a bribe and Phil says he has. This show is nothing like that.
See (2019)
Original
Apple TV is shaping up to have some great original content. This show has a great original premise. With great actors such as the ever fantastic Afre Woodard. Jason Mamoa is great. Especially in the 2nd season.
It's a little slow to get started and you need to concentrate on it to appreciate the story but it definitely worth your time.
