Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023)
Dumb Gory Fun
This movie wasn't meant to be any kind of cinematic greatness. It's a low budget horror flick. Pooh and Piglet are clearly two grown ass men wearing a bear and hog mask. It's a ridiculously silly concept.
I'm shocked that others were shocked by how bad it was. It just seems like the kind of movie that's meant to be bad. I went into it knowing it would be bad.
Overall, the kills were fun and gruesome. The CGI was a bit too obvious in a few kill scenes but it worked well enough. Acting was meh but since they basically just ran around screaming, it wasn't too distracting.
It's watchable, IMO. If you're looking for mindless kills with bad costumes, it's a fun watch.
Death and Cremation (2010)
Dourif Is Great, As Usual
I enjoyed this movie. Granted, I'm a huge Brad Dourif fan and it's not often you get to see him in a starring role. It has a few slow spots and the actor playing the cop isn't very convincing but Dourif and the young man playing his protege were a great match.
I won't lie, I'm biased. I have enjoyed just about every Dourif film out there. Think the only one I couldn't get thru was Sonny Boy. Death and Cremation is a solid film. The two main characters think they're doing a public service. There's a cop trying to figure out what is happening. Murders, mystery, some moments where you root for the killers. How can you not enjoy that? There's even a Baldwin in it!
Interview with the Vampire (2022)
Ignore the Hate
Shame so many idiots are claiming it's sub par. I read the books in high school and saw the film when it had come out. I can even admit I was nervous when the TV adaptation was announced. The cast and show have exceeded my expectations. So they updated the timelines and some things, but a fair amount of the dialogue is from the book and the spirit of the book is here. This is a damned good adaptation.
Anne Rice herself was trying to make this happen before she passed. She gave the green light. Of course there will be some changes when adapting a book to a show. It's a great show and I am ecstatic that I am able to see a modern version of it in my lifetime. Ignore the haters and give it a watch.
Snowflake Mountain (2022)
Feels Like A Live Action Total Drama
It's entertaining. Basically a bunch of spoiled trust fund babies dropped on a mountain side and told to figure it out.
It reminds me of the Total Drama cartoon series 🤣
Unsheltered (2022)
Annoying Group of Kids Get Lost in Backwoods
Pretty typical "inbred mountain man stalks kids" film. The film is low budget, full of crappy acting, unlikeable characters and a super cliche villain.
Special effects were decent but that's about the only highlight.
I want my rental money back personally.
